- Peter Rowan, Tony Rice, & Tim O'Brien w/ Billy Bright and Jesse Dalton perform the Rowan classic tune "Midnight Moonlight" live at the 2010 Rice Festival in Fischer Texas.
With 3 of the bluegrass communities legendary stars combine on one stage you can't help but expect pure magic. Not only did they deliver in full they combined forces with the future of the genre by having mandolin master Billy Bright and bass guru Jesse Dalton step in as well. Truly a special evening for all who attended.

I love how intimate this recording is.
The letter "F" is for a few things that Tim O'Brien is as a mandolin player: fantastic, fluid, fast, furious, FENOMENAL :)
and then there's his (can't-get-enough-of) "Hot Rize" inferno.......
Quite understated and ridiculously great mando player.
Tim O'Brien is a great mandolin player, isn't that him playing violin on this tune?
love all three but never saw tony rice better...lucky to be able to see peter rowan tomorrow night in buffalo at ironworks
+moecoolmag watchin it again and it gets better -jesse dalton is out of this world and tim o'brien is coming to east aurora in april...a perfect sunday morning
i miss tony rice singing, he is superb
the egos are a flyin here, around one a my buddy pedro's best songs~ tim o'brien finally busts a move. pedro's wearing a silk wild rag my sister brought me from china...i gave bob livingston one & pedro one each, they look like bandanas till you look, & it's all chinese writing...probably woody allen's recipe for tuna salad! downright epic picking, gentlemen.
very cool
Wow......why wasn't I there
Tony, try to contain yourself!
I love Pete Rowan but I have to say he looks a little like Large Marge in this particular video

Good - but not the same without the banjo.
If you yawn at a man who played with Bill Monroe-Rowan-and one of the finest guitar players -Rice-like in his own right as great as Hendrix-Garcia-Clapton-John Fahey-John Renbourn+
You must not have been born stupid
you earned your PhD in inconsequntially for any one who doesn't know music
You probably think Vassar Clements doesn't "fiddle" quite right-or Sam Bush wasn't the true "Mayor of Telluride"
May piece
