We spent the whole show watching Mike’s journey with Gus and the cartel and then it cuts to the future and literally all of them are long dead and forgotten about. None of them matter anymore. @Xpwnxage Před rokem +204

@@whatno3145 It's very likely a case of "you don't know what you've got till it's gone" too. Suddenly he is vanished from her life, dead. And suddenly all of the problems between them, the voids created by isolation and disdain, the amount of fights they had, all of that is meaningless now. It seems so silly now and she likely harbors immense guilt for treating him the way she did, and she would do anything to go back and change the state of their relationship at the time of Howard's disappearance. But of course, she can never go back.
It can happen to anyone of us, don't hold resentment against people you love, one day you may horrifically find yourself in Cheryl's position and you will understand the dreadful regret.

@@Xpwnxage Basically it is precisely for this reason that I disrespect even more all those people who, once there is no turning back, would like to do so. It's too simple to show yourself good and kind when it's too late and expect no one to point it out because it would be "tactless". Howard's wife, however, remains cold towards her husband, in fact all the words spent on Howard are only to attack on Kim, threatint her of taking everything away from her. I believe that Cheryl is also trying to "get even" with Kim because perhaps she blamed herself (this is my speculation) for her husband's (presumed) drug addiction, and may have had doubts about having isolated him and not supported him in his time of need and that indeed, she left him in the coldest solitude while continuing to take the benefits (remember the breakfast scene where Howard tries to make her something nice and she, without worrying about anything, pours it into the cup, dirtying the table).
Maybe, if Howard hadn't died, they would have divorced: again in the breakfast scene you could guess that she has a lover waiting for her in the evening.

This scene makes me so happy tbh. Howard deserves justice and for his good name to be cleared of the horrible smokescreen that Kim set up at his funeral and this helps start the path to exactly that as she was one of the last 2 confirmed people to see him alive.
I'm glad that Kim hasn't leapfrogged the events of Howard's murder in an attempt to use mental gymnastics to avoid admitting her responsibility in his death but is instead doing the right thing, telling the truth and accepting all consequences (including possible prosecution) no matter what comes in stark contrast to Jimmy who still refuses to confront his feelings and instead chooses to put up a front either as Saul Goodman or Gene Takavic and run away from them (literally and figuratively).
I'm really glad that there's at least a little bit of a positive to his ending with Cheryl knowing the brutal truth about what happened to him on that fateful night and knowing that he was a good, pure man untouched by drugs to the end. This gives me at least a little bit of MUCH needed closure on the character of Howard Hamlin so that he can rest a bit more peacefully and knowing that he wasn't absolutely screwed over in the end, I appreciate the hell out of it.

Both meaning well but not fully appreciating the that their morals are still compromised, despite how they try to justify themselves. Both Mike and Kim get a verbal beating down after this, and while it's questionable Mike had enough goodness left in him to really self-reflect on what Nacho's father was saying, I think Kim really takes it on board.

I've always considered the resolution here to be very unsatisfying. And to be clear I don't mean that as a criticism I actually think it really works. The lack of any real catharsis for Howard makes it even more tragic what happened to him.
Maybe the cops think to dig up Gus' superlab and find Lalo and Howard it's not outside the realm of possibilities but most likely they aren't going to find Howard's body.
Saul is going to prison and his confession to his involvement in Howard's death was likely taken into account but even if it weren't Saul is still going to prison for the rest of his life for everything else he did. Because of that, it being a punishment for what happens to Howard feels like an afterthought.
Kim's only ever gonna be punished financially since the DA is likely not gonna prosecute. Her reputation may be ruined but she doesn't live in Albuquerque anymore so it's not like that's worth much.
The way it's set up robs you of any catharsis and sense that justice has been done. Howard's body will probably never be found, Jimmy's going to prison but it's mostly for everything else he did for Walt, and Kim may have confessed but it's not like anything substantial is gonna come of it outside of her losing money. Howard's reputation may be restored but it's a cold comfort knowing there's never really gonna be justice. And I think that narratively that works so well

If there's one place where they'll eventually find any bodies buried on the premises, it's beneath that laundromat. Given that they know Howard was killed by the Salamanca crime family, I wouldn't be surprised if they could positively ID him because he'd be one of the people whose dental records they'd run now that they know a Salamanca murdered him.

Kim had way more courage than the great Heizenberg. She found resolve to look her victim in the eyes and face her admonition. She was not afraid of shame and humiliation.

Good thing it's been six years since 2004, because it turns out the statute of limitations for defamation in New Mexico is three years, meaning that Cheryl's threat to take everything from Kim has no standing.
