Sharon has performed many emotional "solos", so to speak.. I have mentioned many but you will find them eventually. All so good. This one, due to range and adult stress lyrics are delivered so well and the mood with the pipe instrument and tribal drum sound is so good here. AND, Sharon is a beauty!!!! with that great dress she designed, the scallops. I think it was most meant for her song AQUARIUS, same album/tour. This song being more delicate though. A decade ago, I used to communicate with Jackie Evancho's mom (look her up if not known to you) and for her album, which became her AWAKENING album, her mom was asking fans for song suggestions. I did suggest Within Temptation, as her mom was a huge Nightwish fan. She thought the music was too adult for her album... I did agree that this song, PALE was too early for her, but would be great due to Jackie's range and -, but I did strongly, and incredulously suggest that MEMORIES would be perfect for Jackie. Well, THAT one DID end up on her AWAKENING album and with clear tone, not choral sound...
If you want to react to MEMORIES, their biggest known seller worldwide, then I suggest BLACK SYMPHONY, or ACOUSTIC NIGHT AT THE THEATER album track for a nice stripped down version. OR, for full effect of the songs power, react to the OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO.... all their videos tell a story visually.

When in Boston area, I gave WITHIN TEMPTATION's bass player a copy of Evancho's CD for Sharon and band to watch.. they did, prior to their show, and then Sharon commented to me of it as loving her vocals and cover and that they watched it in the bus! Sharon does autographs and photo ops, usually with another member as well, after the shows.
