Hello fashion friends! Today I am going to be showing you my high school fashion design portfolio that I used for my college applications! Your portfolio is the most important factor when applying to fashion school, so I wanted to show you the portfolio that got me accepted into Parson's, FIT, and NC State. Gonna be ROASTING myself today because criticism is important for growth!! Even though I have definitely improved so much since high school, I am still mortified by some of the things in my portfolio soooo... enjoy!

Hello! How did you guys feel about having no music in the background? Yes, no? And make sure you let me know what your favorite/least favorite pieces were! I was trying to be very honest in my opinion on my portfolio. In fashion school, you get constant criticism from your teachers and peers about every project you do, so I was very honest in my criticisms for each project. Hope this helps you if you are applying to fashion school, or at the very least entertains you!
Personally i really like the no music change
The music honestly doesn’t bother me, I concentrate on what your saying both ways, I love the emerald green dress you did, so cute. Im applying to fit so I have two more weeks to finish my portfolio, I would love if you could take a look at it before I submit! ❤️

I think for conversational videos no music, but for tutorials yes. Also loved the green velvet!

I remember when I appllied for art school I was super nervous about my shitty portofolio. I lied a lot and tried to be extra smart about some knowledge I didn't have. But I also showed how passionate I was and I was willing to learn.
Looking back I think I should have been more honest with them and also with myself and not panicking as much because I understand now that they are here to teach us something and they probably want someone who wants to learn and is passionate than someone who already know everything.

You're really talented! Don't be critical of your work or yourself but always strive to improve because from what I see you make real clothes for real people that are wearable and flattering and that's what sells, the crazy stuff that some designers make might be fun to look at but when it comes down to it, you have to sell!!! Keep going, you're great!

i honestly know absolutely nothing about fashion design but i am interested anyways can you please explain what a portfolio is and what it includes when it comes to the collection? and do you have to draw a sketch for every piece?

Ten out of ten for showing off the journey! 🔟🔟I too am a sucker for velvet... So fave was the green velvet! Least fave... None really, maybe the boat painting, but still waaay better than anything I've ever painted so it's still a ten in my eyes! You are very inspiring! 💚Keep it up.

You say you didn't know how to sew or paint and still did that? I have been sewing since I was like 10yo but still at that age I couldn't have done better. And now as 21yo I can't still fit perfectly or sew by grain. Well, I like flowier clothes so maybe that's why I haven't learned. When I was at high school I did sew two horrible skirts but then I realised how to make those clothes I admired back then (lolita) and I managed to make three beautiful dresses. Nowadays I don't really time or energy to sew from scratch so I'm just mending anf refashioning clothes.
Alsooo, what do you think about studying abroad? America is too far from home, but I think London and danemark have good universities
