My great uncle converted to the mustang at Montrose in 1944. He never saw Arthur but others had, and firmly believed in the presence of this ghost. Great video. Much thanks.

Aww brilliant to see my hometown featured 😃 The airfield is 5 minutes away from my flat & having lived here all of my life, the airfield is definitely haunted & very eerie! Everyone knows about the ghost there. There's also a hotel here called the George Hotel that has a ghost in one of the rooms too, that story is well known through the town & by people who have & still work there.

@@eerieedinburgh A friend of mine used to work there. She said she saw the ghost & said she's never felt or seen something so evil in her life. She refused to go back into that room. The smuggling that you mentioned, there's old smugglers tunnels under two pubs that go out to the basin. Arthur's grave is well known & visited too. Great video again as always 🙂 👻

Thank you for this detail account of not only paranormal but military history, as I child I was stationed in Scotland, my Dad posted to RAF Turnhouse as ground crew and we as a family lived at RAF Pitreavie Castle, during those sociable nights in the 70s when our parents gathered with friends for drinks the jovial chatter would always seem to conclude with ghost stories about the bases, I'll share a couple that I remember vividly from those bygone decades, the first at Pitreavie Castle when a guard was sent out from the guardroom to secure the castle and ensure all staff had vacated the premises for the night.
He did as instructed by closing all doors on each floor and turning off all lights.
On his return the guard commander pointed out some lights were still lit on the middle floor and somewhat bemused the guard returned and sure enough there doors open and some lights still on, although sure he had checked it he didn't question the reality and shut all doors and outed all lights and returned to the guardroom, only to informed (a little more sternly) that there was a light on in the upper floor and could he not achieve a simple task of securing and empty building?
Now.. a little more agitated at the 3rd request to return to the castle the guard went straight to the top floor marched to the offending room with the light on expecting to find an officer working late but again found the room empty, he slammed the light switch and abruptly gave the door the same treatment and forcibly stomped his way along the corridor and to the stair well and as he glanced at the middle floor yet another light was on with a door open, talking to himself now and wondering if he was the subject of a prank he again speedily made his way to the room again slamming the light off and closing the door but this time as he approached the stair well he called out "I don't care if your playing a joke, I have the keys and I'm locking you in till morning" and on finishing his sentence, all one side of middle corridor doors flew open and lights came on and a loud bang was heard on the upper floor, the wasted no time in vacating the building and told the guard commander if he wanted the doors locking still then he would have to do it himself or get someone else to do it, I believe that night the castle remained open.
The other story was RAF Turnhouse and I remember my father telling of a black Labrador that had been sighted on the base, near hangers and walking across fields and with more than one sighting it was deemed a stray and for its own safety the guard would have strict instructions to capture it that night, they did as they were told by sending patrols everytime the dog was sighted but everytime they arrived they had seen no dog and sometimes it was almost as if they should have driven or walked past it but every time without success, the dog was not seen again that evening but those who were more open to idea of spiritual existence which even went as high as Hugh Dowding from WW2 who also believed in the paranormal, it was said that the labrador could have been the famous "Dambusters Dog" which had once belonged to Guy Gibson who had been stationed at Turnhouse during his flying career, the dog continued to appear occasionally right up to when my father left for RAF Church Fenton in Yorkshire in 1979, which would also have its own ghostly goings on.
Hope you enjoyed the stories as much as loved hearing them in my childhood. 😊
