Reflections Useless and distant

Erika and I went to CA to visit my great-uncle who is 98 years old and his health is declining. While there I was able to sit with him and listen to stories, help him get dressed, put lotion on his dry skin, and even picked him up after he fell coming out the shower. It was one the first times that I have actually felt useful during this season. This is one of the things I struggle with the most, feeling useless because I am not able to help people. Obviously this isn’t how God sees things, but it’s a hard place to be nonetheless.
