Shout out to to the unsung hero of Austin's recent work, the redoubtable Sebastien Douyon. Far from just being a pianist, he has proved himself to be a remarkable arranger and producer. With a song like this you can get ready-made backings but they won't always do what you want and need endless improvements and alterations to suit the singer. And that tactful bluesy piano was pure Sebi.
If you want to hear what he does with a simple original demo, sent to Austin for turning into something magical, check out "Empty House" (possibly Austin's best work ever), a stunning blues number which is heartbreaking in its power. For legal copyright reasons, it's not on Austin's channel but on the composer's, ResurrecSis Music, along with other songs arranged by Sebi and sung by Austin. Each one would be a crowning achievement for other artists! There is a charming song called Your Bed which is pure Broadway and completely disproves those who claim that Austin can't sing without a southern twang.

I knew you'd say it was disgrossting, Austin put his stamp on this one plan & simple!! I still love Ray Charles singing it the best, & I can't imagine anyone ever topping that one, but Mr Austin Brown did it justice. Love this rendition so much, it's definitely my #1 for Austin, he never ever disappoints, he's just that talented!! 🎶❤️🎶
The arrangement with the strings was a definite tip of the hat to Ray Charles' studio version. As an Ohioan who moved to Georgia 56 years ago (and stayed) I love 'em both.
Austin loves singing and it shows in all of his music. He is extremely blessed with not only a great voice,but also with the gift of knowing how to use it. I love listening to him sing. And he is the most kind and humble person when you meet him and the lovely Amberly, his muse.

This is a beautiful song to begin with. Love Ray Charles & Willie Nelson's versions. Austin did the song justice too. And the Canadian scenery was gorgeous including Niagara Falls.

Loved your reaction. I knew it was going to be awesome because I know how you feel about his wonderful special voice and the way he sings/kills a song like this. I asked him many times to sing Georgia on My Mind ever since a few years ago he did a little minute clip of him singing I Hate Alabama to the tune of Georgia on My Mind. It was so wow and he finally did this. And I never dreamed it could get better throughout the song but he just keeps upping the levels during the song! Agree it is one of his best if not his best for the soul and feeling. Take care.

I heard a random guy in SAn Antonio Tx do the best version of this song I ever heard, even better than Ray bcuz of the drama and deep tone he put into it. Just some guy lol. I really regret not getting it on video, he coulda got millions of views.

Those are the versions I've heard.
I'm ashamed to admit I've never heard the original Hoagy Carmichael & Ochestria version of this although I have certainly heard their original "Stardust".
Billie Holiday has a fair rendition, so does Peggy Lee her rendition is more jazzy,then there's India Arie also has a jazzy feel to the song all three are very enjoyable.
