If the North didn't swear allegiance to her, she will just come for them after Cersei - it was never in her plans to fight Jon's war till this episode (frankly, I was kinda 'ehh' by it because I think any sane ruler will need more proof than crude drawings on rock before committing to yet another war when she's already in one).

The reunion of Sansa, Arya, and Bran is as interesting offscreen as it is onscreen when you think about it, all 3 actors were children and basically new and untrained in acting the last time they acted together back in the first episode of the first season, and since then all 3 have effectively had their own character and actor journeys through the near decade they’ve been filming the show. And now they’ve reunited as grown adults and trained actors actually knowing deeply each of their characters. As big of a moment this is onscreen, I imagine it must have been truly something offscreen for these young actors.

It's not about ending the war quickly though. It's about doing so in a way that won't invite outright ire and mistrust the moment Dany sits on the throne. If she goes straight to the Red Keep than she IS killing civilians. Civilians that work inside the Keep and civilians in the surrounding areas that will get crushed by falling debris. The moment anyone in Kings Landing, be it lord or peasant, sees Dany do to civilians what she just did to Lannister soldiers in the Loot Train battle, is the moment Dany loses Westeros. And we already know that the people of Westeros already don't trust her, as shown in the first few episodes of Season 7 when they already consider her dangerous off of her name alone.
Also, Tyrion isn't sad "for no reason" he's sad because he's witnessing someone he's helped essentially drop a nuke on soldiers that serve his family. Like yeah, he wants to see his sister displaced from the throne but he's also allowed to have a human reaction to seeing people die in horrible ways.

Remember from the lore videos: Bran the Builder built Storm’s End, Winterfell, the Wall and perhaps many other things in the Age of Legends. He was described as cold and logical. Just saying we’ve seen him create time loops with Hodor and of course his Father at the Tower of Joy. And he recognized the dagger. The only one of its kind it has been said. Further if you go back to the episode where Sam was reading the old books, right before he found the entry about dragon glass there was a picture of the dagger. Littlefinger gave it to the assassin, it came back to him, he gave it to Bran, but Bran dumped it to Arya.

😂 Arya didn't learn her skills with the sword at the House of Black and White. She learned fundamental drills with Syrio Forel (RIP Big Man 😢) and continued them over years, adding her own moves over time. Throughout her entire time in the Riverlands with the Hound she was constantly training. We only saw it once or twice, but she was training. Her trials in Braavos heightened her senses, reflexes and increased her agility. I see Arya approaching any kind of training with lazer focus until she has mastered a (murderous) skill to perfection. I can just imagine her doing dagger drills in the godswood the second immediately after Sansa and Bran leave.

How do you know all the Dothraki were at Dragonstone at the beginning of the episode?
That's just an assumption on your part, and one that does't take into account the possibility that Dany might have sent some in advance for a possible seige on the mainland.
Just like people assumed they were all killed in a certain battle to come and then act surprised that she might have left some behind to guard Dragonstone.
Your entire complaint is based on an assumption that's in no way corroborrated by anything said or shown in the show.
And people have always had plot armor in this show since the beginning, - from even when GRRM was still involved in the show and even from the books themselves.....
Jon should never have survived Hardhome probably 5 or 6 times within that same battle.
Bran should never have made it beyond the wall,.....or back.
Sansa should never have made it out of King's Landing or back North.
Tyrion should never have survived the Blackwater battle.
I could go on and on and on......

@@Cbricklyne I'm not really bothered by the "teleporting" but the pace just really speeds up. Season 1 we have the multi-episode long travel from Winterfell to King's Landing. If that trip were to happen now they'd have left in one episode and arrived in the next. That's what people mean by teleporting. But I'm fine with it because it just means nothing of importance happened on the journey. But there's one specific scene either later this season or next season when they were in a time crunch and sent for help and I felt it arrived too quickly to be realistic. But most any other time I'm fine with the pace.

But in hindsight it was like one of those cartoon snowballs rolling down a hill. In season 6 it was a tiny little snowball, hard to notice but it existed. Here he is watching his men die for no good reason, food for the people in the capital being burnt (that's what's in the wagons) and he can't do anything to stop it. Then he sees his opening: If he can take down the dragon and/or the dragon queen, he can prevent so much loss of life and at least one war.
