- "What I went through, it's like nothing compared to what some of the Ukrainians are going through."
Aiden Aslin's account of what happened to him after surrendering to Russian forces while fighting for the Ukrainian armed forces lays bare the stark realities of the risks of signing up as a volunteer in the Ukraine-Russia war as a British citizen.

If your enemy believes they will be killed or tortured if captured, they will not surrender which causes more of your own to be killed.
Thank you for sharing your story and your support of Ukrainians everywhere. God bless.

British Nazzie should be thankfull to Russians they let him live and let him go.
This guy sang the anthem of Russia when they wanted to execute him, but then the evil Russians let him go)
I'm glad Aiden is back home safe in the UK.
@@ThaiSoup39Thank the torturers? wtf are you talking about
@@ThaiSoup39 What mercy, he was tortured all along by them. And it was a prisoner swap, the Russians didn't act out of generosity. Furthermore it was the Russians who started this brutal war.
Imagine thanking the rapist for not killing you.
@@ThaiSoup39they tortured him and only swapped him to get some of their own back. He owes them nothing.
@@8fledermaus8 it is not russians who started this war, it is the necons who were using Ukraine as a battering ram against Russia for years.
@@ThaiSoup39 are you for real?? 😂😂
Thank you for sharing your experience 🙏. Does Geneva convention allow such treatment of captured soldiers?.
Lucky to escape that must have taken a lot of negotiation, glad your home and looking well.
Thank you for sharing your story
Iv just stsrted reading Putins Prisoner so il watch this when iv finished it. Great read so far👋👍
It is good! I read it in less than. 3 days.
Wheres the Brit?
Wow, this means we need to give our Apache helicopters to Ukraine immediately

Agreed. Everything we can for Ukraine. Slava.
Yeah we have old stock to give away!
Well done for getting through it. As for mistreatment of Ukrainians, seems to me it shows a lack of discipline. But, we have the example of the second world war, and decades later, former POWs never forgave or forgot the hardship and punishment by the two major axis countries. All the Russians have to do to be safe is go home, the Ukrainians have not that luxury. This war is the biggest Russian mistake in history, I expect. I hope so anyway. Take care all, let this put our civilian life experiences in perspective.
🇸🇪👍🏻💙💙💙💫💛💛💛
I believe mistreatment is actually systematic. It shows a similar pattern to Russian prisons. Russian forces are accustomed to treating anyone they see as enemy as less than human. It is very similar to the axis powers. Its like a total throwback to WWII except with modern twists and particularly Russian flavor
Choose Peace not war.
Putin chose war. This war will end with him losing.
Send that message to Moscow.

You British give military aid to Netenyahu as he STILL continues with the genocide in Gaza
@@kadyrov3218 1. I'm not British, 2. Russia invaded Ukraine, full stop (as the Brits say). Where does self defense factor into that equation at all for the Ruskies in Ukraine? 🇷🇺🧌🤡

Maybe Abramovich isn't as bad as I thought, still bad but... I'd love to know what he's actually up to, strange how life can put you in such a position and not through choice.
Sad to see that he survived his visit in the DPR maybe he'll decide to come back someday
Russia made *mistake*
Support to *Russian Brothers* from *Serbia*
He looks quite fat and happy though..
Congratulations! This is how the uk soldier has treated others. This is karma in action.
Why not show Aslin standing to attention singing the Russian national anthem!
Aslin was in trouble with the Home Office for leaving his job in a care home to go play call of duty in Syria!
Aslin was not in the so called marines, he was in the notorious Azov Battalion!
Give it a rest snapperhead.
I feel for the guy, but surely he knew about this before he went there.
I suspect the Russians treat "foreign fighters" the same way we in the west treated "unlawful combatants."
He was there since 2014, I think? Not new face by any means
He's a Ukrainian citizen you Wally!
@@garagenigel Well then perhaps it shouldn't be titled "Briton ..." and have comments about flown home" and "back in the UK" in the narration.
They can't have it both ways.
@@whya2ndaccount he even has a fiance(?) in Ukraine!!
@@targe4070 Good for him. That just means the people creating the video should have made it less "UK centric". If its about a Ukrainian with a Ukrainian family - why is it on "UK Forces news"???
Has that British "journalist" guy who interviewed him under duress had his citizenship removed??? I hope he has!
Nice guy glad as a fellow Brit he admits he had it easy compared to Ukrainians !
Apparently males are being castrated
Fine folks those Russians.
@@ThaiSoup39 So should you
@@ThaiSoup39 your time will come Ivan!
The orcs especially the ones who didn't get forced into the fight are terrible horrible people
The only thing horrible about Russia is that they let this British git go.
Every single released Ukrainian prisoner has declared that they were tortured. Without exception - just as soon as they go through onboarding back to Ukraine. Yet Human Rights groups consistently give Russia a clean report on how it treats prisoners.
It is all just one great big PR exercise - as is pretty much every thing out of Kiev.
For example we all know Russia is losing many times more men than Ukraine, but some how there are 10X as many Ukrainian POWs as Russian POWs.
Aiden is lucky to be exchanged given how few Russians there are to swap with him.

British Nazzie should be thankfull to Russians they let him live and let him go.
Ah diddums.
THIS IS A REASON FOR UK TO GO ALL OUT IN SUPPORT OF UKRAINES VICTORY!!!
I'm thankful for every person, from every country, that does what is decent and humane. These stories are what makes me so fierce in my support of Ukraine. Russian terrorists have no privileges as humans when they perform like the devil. Humanity is wasted on those who can do such things and relish in them.
Er, no
Yeah no. He was not sent there. He went there of his own free will and had to deal with the consequences
Smooth brain
it's a war. literally the objective is to kill as many enemy as possible.

He hasn't learned his lesson.
Nice story. Would have been even nicer to see some pictures of the scars to back it up. In similar cases, they are always shown. I can understand why some might think this story is wildly exaggerated.
OK Quisling.
I don't. There are so many testimonies of Russian torture.
Lmfao imaging being skeptical about Russians torturing POWs. That's literally their MO.
They did it to chechens, Georgians, the list goes on.... You should have zero trouble believing what this man says without physical evidence, because the physical evidence is there in so many other cases. We know this is what they do.
Wow! You do realise there's more to torture than scarring people for life 😂😂😂🤡
