We actually know of one other character with the power to return from near death but at the cost of her memories: Whisperain. When you look at some of the other Aegir we meet in the story, being nigh unkillable but with memory problems certainly doesn't appear to be an exclusive trait to Whisperain, even if she gets a more tragic version of it because much milder injuries can trigger it for her. It's probably the strongest piece of evidence that the Doktah is any specific race.
Nah, it sadly doesn't. As far as we know, it is impossible to say how much of that forgetting is the Doctor and how much is the Sarcophagus, of which we still know dick heckle. Meanwhile, Whisperain and Specter are the only ones with memory things among the Aegerians. Specter was very explicitly made this way through artificial means, meaning the Originum in her spine. Whisperain is meant to reference a species of jellyfish (I think it was jellyfish) that can literally rewind it's growth and therefore be essentially immortal. Both their reasons are completely different from his.

She literally didn't wanted to work alongside with us (the Dokutha), so she was out of any posible strategy we came with, but now she's more open to interact with us. From my perspective,Kal'tsit actually need The Doctor because of The Doctor's commanding ability which is excellent in old days(and perhaps because there's something special about the Doctor?) thus gave Amiya and her team a rescue mission to retrieve The Doctor at Sarchopagus lab and bring The Doctor back to help them stop Reunion Movement from doing bad things Neither Kal'tsit is a Tsundere or hate us(well she still but not much),she just saw us as a new whole person,and a weapon
It’s starting to make more sense, the doctor is a vessel for us. The doctor was said to be respected and treated people like brothers and sisters, this could represent us being in the world for the first time, we tried to protect as much as we could. Over time, failing missions(prompting a restart, going back in time until we succeed the mission) and seeing people die only to see them alive when the missions restarts, the world starts to feel fake to us. By the end, our mind degrades to it being just a game, the operators and comrades become just pawns where all we want is to complete the mission. After amnesia, which could be literal amnesia or the vessel took on a new soul, the process repeats again. Only a matter of time until we break down.

@@PlayerRed01 from my understanding, they do there utmost to keep doctor as gender neutral as possible, to help people feel immersed in the story and to keep them number of multiple possible dialogue options to a minimum, as obviously every time you refer to the doctor as (pronoun pf players specified gender), you have the risk of forgetting to put the trigger in, and then an it gets called a he and everyone is upset.
After Kal decided to visit me 5 times in ~250 pulls on her banner, I can confirm that she does, in fact, not hate me. _(I'm @270 pulls currently, last 6* was @254 and it was Kal's 5th appearance)_ As far as the Tsundere query, I personally feel that she presents more as the Kuudere archetype, if any. Although even that, is quite the oversimplification of her relationship with the Doktah. Fun watch Qaiser and as always: Cheers everyone! ^_^
I feel like she does at least partly genuinely hate you, but over the course of the story she warms up to you because you have changed and she can see that. In her e2 promotion quote, she says she will protect especially you. Over time, she grows as a person and is able to put her resentment toward you behind her, beginning to value you not just as the Doctor of Rhodes Island, but as an invidual. Truly a good character arc, the way characters are written is one of the reasons I love this game.
By the time the Vigilo vignettes are happening, sometime after the resolution of the Chernobog crisis, the medical data clearly proves you are not faking amnesia, and with that knowledge she begins openly worrying about losing you again when your memories return. She's clearly warmed to the Doctor by then; it's at least a deep professional regard, if not something stronger.

Very good rundown. These are the same conclusions I've come to as someone who writes storylines for a living. It's great to see the change in Kal'tsit's attitude towards you as the Dokutah over time. Chapter 9 seems to imply more of an exploration into the whole backstory of our doctor, so I'm looking forward to that as well!
"This goodbye was to the Theresa in her head" well after reading a few posts on reddit regarding the voice recording in the concept art video, how CN apparently had an online lore hunt at some point, and how it connects Theresa and Amiya being the crowned rulers of Kazdel. The goodbye is probably a bit more literal imo.
Great video. I think Theresa used her emotion control powers on the Doctor in some way, maybe to force him to do something she knew would cost her life, and she knew that the Doctor wouldn't agree to it otherwise (edit: not because of love, but because she was a too valuable pawn to lose). I can't wait to see the past of the Doctor, in around 9-10 years, when we consider the pace at which we are going with these chapters. Next, can we talk about how much Alter Skadi creeps me the fuck out with her comments when she is set as the display character? Seriously, I just wanna grab her shoulders and shake her out of whatever cryptic trance state she is in when she says all that. At this point, I would have preferred if she didn't find out about herself, if her becoming that is the price.

watching this video made me think maybe the sarcophagus brings out the true deep feelings/nature of someone like when doctor was corruputed into a person who doesnt care about his operators due to war and is cold, the sarcophagus took away the elements that werent his true nature/born truly from within his heart and also healed him in there because his injuries were kind of a result of his changes (edit:) and reversed back to when he was truly someone who cares for his friends, operators, coworkers... which brings us to now i think for mephistos case it would be that hes actually sad and only wants to sing deep down and regrets the things he has done in this mortal body(cos faust died due to his actions, kinda) and doesnt want to live anymore and only wants to sing so the sarcophagus just made him a sad, singing bird maybe cos it's incapable of killing someone. more theory about sarcophagus: it releases unlimited energy like how originium stores alot of energy, so maybe originium is a crystal corrupted by the pure power of the sarcophagus when it released some sort of blast and transferred its energy to the external world... so priestess might be part of the original people who made the sarcophagus but it went wrong and they knew bad things were gonna happen, so she entrusted the only safe escape/ important sarcophagus to doctor and put him in there... then something happened and after its energy got released it turned people/things into originium, and brought out the true nature of the human beings in terra (idk, maybe u turn into a fish if u like water...??), thats also why doctor always wears a mask cos hes a human and would freak everyone out, which explains why he can wear a hood and doesnt show a tail etc feel free to point some wrong stuff out i actually dont know lore too well ._.
I think it's more likely that the doctor will struggle with their past and present personality as the memories return, but eventually end up being shaped by the experiences had after awakening in Chernobog and remain a "good guy."

Well I almost called it! I made a comment on the original vid that was basically 80% correct, glad lore dad made this update! Also hope to see updates on other vids as well if the lore progresses further.

Personally I think she absolutely hates the person you where and wants to keep hating the person you are, but can't quite bring herself to. It's pretty obvious that the person you were when Kal'tsit knew you was rather cold, vicious, and did horrible things to get the job done, but it's also obvious from how your current operators talk to you that you aren't like that any more. Who you've become doesn't fit with the person Kal'tsit hates, but _you are still that person._ You still have their face, their voice, even their leadership and strategic capabilities. I think that probably leaves her in an awkward spot. She hates who you where, but doesn't know who you are and can't bring herself to let the hatred of the old you die enough to get to know the current you. At the same time she's mature enough to know that's not fair to you or to all the people who only know you as you are now. So she just keeps away for the most part and doesn't really bring up the past to anyone. When she does have to interact with you she's pretty robotic about it and leaves as quickly as she can. Apparently we're just too likable to hate for long so now she's at least willing to work with us. A major step up honestly.
I pray this is not one of those red flags where shit starts going bad as soon as good things are abt to happen, as in most cases in Arknights. Just binged watched Qaiser's vids and saw a few instances of when things go bad as good things happens

Honestly, between the cockroach with way too much explosives, potato farmer with a lance that also has explosives, carzed swordswoman with a Texas complex, chainsaw weilding cat and the Sniper from Team Fortess 2 if he was a tax evading girl and basically everything else you can randomly make up, I can't really blame Kal for finding a bit difficult to get used to Rhodes Island as her home.
I think the real reason why Kal‘tsit angry is because she hadnt been told about the plan by Theresa or us, Theresa dont want to kill his brother and hurt her people. but, her brother wont stop until he got the power Theresa hold.
Plot twist: The death was caused by Amiya (unintentionally) and since Amiya is blood related to Theresa (from Patriot), her birth could have caused her death probably due to uncontrollable birth conditions where the doctor was the person in charge of the delivery and when Theresa died Dokutah was probably made a scapegoat and Amiya was important since she was the daughter of Theresa
Still thinking that if it wasn't for her promise to Theresa about Amiya and defending him - Kal would've probably killed the Doctor even now. Amiya is simply too attached to them and others rely on them.
So we might have a chance to return to the evil doctor soon-ish? Maybe Doctor was indeed trying to kill Theresa but couldn't finish it and hugging her while she dying out, Kal rushed in-saw what Doctor had done, she told Monst3r to gave Doctor 28 stab wounds combo. Ever wonder if Kal'tsit is the type to never fall in love because she knows she'll outlive pretty much everyone she'll ever meet?
From my perspective,Kal'tsit actually need The Doctor because of The Doctor's commanding ability which is excellent in old days(and perhaps because there's something special about the Doctor?) thus gave Amiya and her team a rescue mission to retrieve The Doctor at Sarchopagus lab and bring The Doctor back to help them stop Reunion Movement from doing bad things
Neither Kal'tsit is a Tsundere or hate us(well she still but not much),she just saw us as a new whole person,and a weapon
It’s starting to make more sense, the doctor is a vessel for us. The doctor was said to be respected and treated people like brothers and sisters, this could represent us being in the world for the first time, we tried to protect as much as we could. Over time, failing missions(prompting a restart, going back in time until we succeed the mission) and seeing people die only to see them alive when the missions restarts, the world starts to feel fake to us. By the end, our mind degrades to it being just a game, the operators and comrades become just pawns where all we want is to complete the mission. After amnesia, which could be literal amnesia or the vessel took on a new soul, the process repeats again. Only a matter of time until we break down.

I think the Doktah is still male but they chose a female VA for making Doktah light spoken w/c is common in any anime.
@@PlayerRed01 from my understanding, they do there utmost to keep doctor as gender neutral as possible, to help people feel immersed in the story and to keep them number of multiple possible dialogue options to a minimum, as obviously every time you refer to the doctor as (pronoun pf players specified gender), you have the risk of forgetting to put the trigger in, and then an it gets called a he and everyone is upset.

I had the same bad luck right up until the 2nd to last free pull. Akafuyu is almost maxed and i got 2 skalters.
After Kal decided to visit me 5 times in ~250 pulls on her banner, I can confirm that she does, in fact, not hate me.

As far as the Tsundere query, I personally feel that she presents more as the Kuudere archetype, if any. Although even that, is quite the oversimplification of her relationship with the Doktah.

These kal tsit vids are amazing man. Really appreciate her lore. Definitely the best character in arknights bar none!
I feel like she does at least partly genuinely hate you, but over the course of the story she warms up to you because you have changed and she can see that. In her e2 promotion quote, she says she will protect especially you. Over time, she grows as a person and is able to put her resentment toward you behind her, beginning to value you not just as the Doctor of Rhodes Island, but as an invidual.
Truly a good character arc, the way characters are written is one of the reasons I love this game.
By the time the Vigilo vignettes are happening, sometime after the resolution of the Chernobog crisis, the medical data clearly proves you are not faking amnesia, and with that knowledge she begins openly worrying about losing you again when your memories return. She's clearly warmed to the Doctor by then; it's at least a deep professional regard, if not something stronger.

Very good rundown. These are the same conclusions I've come to as someone who writes storylines for a living. It's great to see the change in Kal'tsit's attitude towards you as the Dokutah over time. Chapter 9 seems to imply more of an exploration into the whole backstory of our doctor, so I'm looking forward to that as well!
The Dialogue options and the way he behaved while holding Frost Nova should be more than enough to conclude that Doktah has changed forever
"This goodbye was to the Theresa in her head" well after reading a few posts on reddit regarding the voice recording in the concept art video, how CN apparently had an online lore hunt at some point, and how it connects Theresa and Amiya being the crowned rulers of Kazdel. The goodbye is probably a bit more literal imo.
Great video. I think Theresa used her emotion control powers on the Doctor in some way, maybe to force him to do something she knew would cost her life, and she knew that the Doctor wouldn't agree to it otherwise (edit: not because of love, but because she was a too valuable pawn to lose). I can't wait to see the past of the Doctor, in around 9-10 years, when we consider the pace at which we are going with these chapters.
Next, can we talk about how much Alter Skadi creeps me the fuck out with her comments when she is set as the display character? Seriously, I just wanna grab her shoulders and shake her out of whatever cryptic trance state she is in when she says all that. At this point, I would have preferred if she didn't find out about herself, if her becoming that is the price.

watching this video made me think maybe the sarcophagus brings out the true deep feelings/nature of someone
like when doctor was corruputed into a person who doesnt care about his operators due to war and is cold, the sarcophagus took away the elements that werent his true nature/born truly from within his heart and also healed him in there because his injuries were kind of a result of his changes (edit:) and reversed back to when he was truly someone who cares for his friends, operators, coworkers... which brings us to now
i think for mephistos case it would be that hes actually sad and only wants to sing deep down and regrets the things he has done in this mortal body(cos faust died due to his actions, kinda) and doesnt want to live anymore and only wants to sing so the sarcophagus just made him a sad, singing bird maybe cos it's incapable of killing someone.
more theory about sarcophagus:
it releases unlimited energy like how originium stores alot of energy, so maybe originium is a crystal corrupted by the pure power of the sarcophagus when it released some sort of blast and transferred its energy to the external world... so priestess might be part of the original people who made the sarcophagus but it went wrong and they knew bad things were gonna happen, so she entrusted the only safe escape/ important sarcophagus to doctor and put him in there... then something happened and after its energy got released it turned people/things into originium, and brought out the true nature of the human beings in terra (idk, maybe u turn into a fish if u like water...??), thats also why doctor always wears a mask cos hes a human and would freak everyone out, which explains why he can wear a hood and doesnt show a tail etc

I think it's more likely that the doctor will struggle with their past and present personality as the memories return, but eventually end up being shaped by the experiences had after awakening in Chernobog and remain a "good guy."

Personally I think she absolutely hates the person you where and wants to keep hating the person you are, but can't quite bring herself to. It's pretty obvious that the person you were when Kal'tsit knew you was rather cold, vicious, and did horrible things to get the job done, but it's also obvious from how your current operators talk to you that you aren't like that any more.
Who you've become doesn't fit with the person Kal'tsit hates, but _you are still that person._ You still have their face, their voice, even their leadership and strategic capabilities. I think that probably leaves her in an awkward spot. She hates who you where, but doesn't know who you are and can't bring herself to let the hatred of the old you die enough to get to know the current you. At the same time she's mature enough to know that's not fair to you or to all the people who only know you as you are now. So she just keeps away for the most part and doesn't really bring up the past to anyone. When she does have to interact with you she's pretty robotic about it and leaves as quickly as she can.
Apparently we're just too likable to hate for long so now she's at least willing to work with us. A major step up honestly.

I like the idea that the sarcophagus is healed all of the wounds on doctor. And I mean ALL, even the painful memory.
Plot twist: The death was caused by Amiya (unintentionally) and since Amiya is blood related to Theresa (from Patriot), her birth could have caused her death probably due to uncontrollable birth conditions where the doctor was the person in charge of the delivery and when Theresa died Dokutah was probably made a scapegoat and Amiya was important since she was the daughter of Theresa
