I did something very similar at home, forgot it was in gear and started my car, I broke my leg trying to stop it, I ran over my leg, glad you wern't hurt bro :)

I always jump in a car before starting ,I never stand up by the door n do it as I always have this worry it’ll just shoot off, u we’re unlucky tho u nearly stopped it,

Can’t lie I wouldn’t have been as chilled as him had I of come back to my car damaged, but as long as they are willing to sort not much else can be said. Accidents happen right!
