  • That old TV show from the 90s is coming back! The nostalgia era of film and TV is still going strong as we're set to be getting a 4th instalment to The Rugrats Movies. Remember them from 1998. 2000 and 2003? It's certainly been a long time, but let's see what clues we can muster from confirmed context and the previous film entries...

...I don't know how to feel about this upcoming movie. I've loved the Rugrats storytelling far more than I expected to, but the extra context of where this film may be going is strange to say the least.

THe first one theyre nearly killed by a wolf, and monkeys
not to mention having a newborn with them
the second deals with the loss of a mother, and a evil businesswoman is emotionally manipulating one of the parents, and basically kidnaps the babies, who again nearly die in a mech battle

don't get too excited y'all, they could bring it back ya'know? who knows Netflix might buy the rights to the movie. also the series hasn't been canceled, it's not a reboot. it's going to be a continuation season with 26 episodes as of right now. also live action movies of old cartoons aren't that bad, well when it comes to Disney they're pretty bad, but others i mean they were pretty descent. i mean look at the second spongebob movie. a live action cgi hybrid, and that did pretty well. i don't think the rugrats movie would've been THAT bad.

However for Rugrats? The character designs are kind of ugly in some regards, and despite having been in video games on the PS1, I feel like unless they really nailed the style of animation, they would look odd in CG.

Rugrats will ALWAYS be my main favorite Nickelodeon show and Tommy will ALWAYS be my main favorite Nickelodeon character.
I never saw the first Rugrats Movie in theaters because my cousin had to fall asleep in the car.😒 Lol, but I did own it on VHS eventually as a kid and watched it countless times and it’s one of my favorites! Yet I at least got to see the Paris one in theaters and then own that on VHS and watch that countless times.
I actually saw the Rugrats Go Wild one the day before my tenth birthday in theaters yet it’s the only one that I never owned and didn’t see again till many years later in my twenties on Netflix. It was understandably the only one I didn’t remember very well. Yet I did own the soundtrack to the movie at the time and also owned the soundtrack to Rugrats in Paris the Movie yet if the first one ever had a soundtrack I never once heard of it or owned it sadly. Lol
I do have to full heartedly agree that the third one is the weaker one of the bunch while the first two were a whole lot deeper. The first one would have to be my main favorite though for ever since I was a kid I always have been a HUGE sucker for movies where the characters run away or get lost and either learn to come back home or try to find their way home which is exactly what Rugrats gave me. Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey is my favorite movie of all time so you can see why I love that concept so much. While the Paris one is my second favorite and the Wild one is my third pretty much in order. Lol
I also felt like I related a lot with Tommy in that movie with Dil. My younger brother, Ryan, was a year old the time the film came out and I was five. Just like Tommy with Dil it was my responsibility to watch over Ryan and make sure that he played with me and my friends. I had a best friend named Faye who was like Phil and Lil and gave me a hard time for paying attention to Ryan making me feel bad and I, just like Tommy, always stuck up for him. So yeah the film really resonated with me. Lol
I was born in 1993. I watched Rugrats at a very young age so I definitely grew up with the earlier seasons and you bet it was so dang easy to relate with the babies especially with their adventurous imaginations and their childhood fears for I was going through them too. Rugrats meant everything to me as a kid and in my life and even though Avatar: The Last Airbender is a wonderful show and SpongeBob Squarepants is the main mascot now and FairlyOddParents ran far longer as well. Nothing will EVER surpass my love for Rugrats as my main favorite! EEP!😊😍 So they’d better NOT ruin the fourth upcoming film just like they almost did with my favorite cartoon character hero, Sonic, with his design for they better not! Lol

The movies were (for better or worse) my introduction to the Rugrats franchise and remain as nostalgic memories when I used to adore Nikolodeon as an answer to the first question you had at the beginning of the video when you were wondering if anyone still remembered the Rugrats. I'm pretty sure a lot of people still remember the Rugrats franchise existing, they just don't remember it that fondly since the movies and the show ended on a low point after being around for more than a decade.

But the 2nd film was perfect in every way with how it handled the ip.

Apparently, it was supposed to come out this year but the live action Clifford Movie took its place and it was supposed to come out in January but that release date was taken by a new movie called Rumble which is a wrestling monster movie by Paramount and as of now there's no release date for the movie because Paramount took it off their schedule but an animated reboot series is happening.

I love the animation in Rugrats, especially the Rugrats movies, as off as they were the the cartoon. Only cartoon where they didn't use straight up yellow to color blonde hair, and actually made the girl's hair look blonde, slightly reddish. Also, seeing it in 3D would be cool I'd like to see a live action, and maybe make things a little more serious at times. The 90's cartoon is hilarious but sometimes I feel bad for laughing after knowing the truth behind Rugrats

Legit, they were playing the theme from The first movie
in Wally world a couple weeks ago. (the rap one) Made me feel old and I wanted to jam out to it and dance with my cart at the same time. I'm not too into reboots aside from the new Star Trek shows, but if it's done well, I'd give new Rugrats a chance. I was 7 or 8 when the show came out. I remember my mom loved it too, but that's a ramble for another time.

“Kiki” haha. Its Kimi bro. But yeah The Rugrats in Paris is one of my favorite films til this day. I was too young when the first one came out but I saw part 2 like 3 times in theaters. Along with all the merchandise from the stores and even the movie theater giving out dog tags of your favorite Rugrat. I did collect the watches from both movies when I was a kid. The 1st movie had the better scratch and sniff bands & still have the Reptar watch from the first film til this day. 😂

Though the only rugrats that could avoid being CGI might be Angelica and Susie, (Maybe they could use a real baby as Dil but it could be tricky) other than that I don't see how they can make them come to life without CGI.

Veronica Marie Well with the rate of how things are going who knows if there’s even going to be a movie. Well even if there’s already plans for a live action movie, they probably are going to delay or cancel it because of a safety/health hazard because of the kids, actors and production team. You do realize I was trying to be realistic right and plus what do you expect a cgi Angelica being voiced by her voice actress?

  • @tomdragamer
    @tomdragamer Před 4 lety +2

Knowing its a hybrid, I'm not looking forward to it. Having real babies with cgi lips to speak would look weird, and then having 3D-modelled babies that look like their cartoon counterparts would also look weird if its a live-action hybrid. Either way, not sounding good....

And some or all doesnt matter too much, have bobies of their own and the show is in the perspective of their babies but we get the satisfaction of seeing tommy and the gang being parents and seeing where they ended up whole possibiliy staying friends? And with theur kids gives kids now adays a more modern version of rugrats for them to enjoy
