Why do the instructions say, do not pump up a totally flat tyre. If you have a puncture, the tyre will almost certainly be flat. I have this pump and have pumped up a tyre from flat, over and over and it works fine. It will pump from zero to 30 psi in 5 min, not even getting hot. So why the warning?

Hi, this inflator is called the "top up" inflator as it is designed to top up (aka "top-off")a low tire (not a flat tire) to get it to the correct operating pressure. This is not to say that it cannot inflate a fully flat tire, it most certainly can - however it was not designed nor recommended for this purpose.

@@WaganTech Thanks for that, I just wondered if it was a health and safety thing. Anyway I have it now and it works just fine with a totally flat tyre.
Do other pumps have the same warning, perhaps.

@@fourspooks4518 For us, it was only the Michelin line that had similar warnings; the other inflators that we manufacture are designed to be used from flat to anywhere in-between.
