I don’t understand what’s the point of launching these both cars? They both fall under the same category, features are same and price also almost same. Poor decision making from Maruti!
They'll soon discontinue Baleno. And then you'll only have Swift. And then fronx

Swift ZXI Plus AMT DT price is10,95,863 and Baleno Alpha AMT price is 11,00,626 but the big difference is Swift lack

@@SrijitLahiri nothing against i20. But i would consider lot of factors. N line is still not updated and it costs 1.5L more. When you buy top variant with automatic it costs 3 lakhs more than top trim of Baleno automatic. Though DCT is superior its still overkill for this segment. And that's the reason Baleno is selling more as its VFM.
As a baleno owner comparing to new gen Swift new age Baleno is far way better

Maruti took a legendary car known for its ride, handling and driving dynamics and turned it into an economic day to day mundane car 😢
But the fact of the matter is Baleno is only available in 300 cities (as it is sold through Nexa) but Swift is available is almost 2000 cities! And for people in those 1700 cities, Swift is the only premium hatchback from the maruti stable. So this close pricing wont affect Swift sales at all, its a win win for Maruti
That is why it's even more disappointing

You'd be fool a to buy Swift from your local seller from a very low tier city, I mean even suburbs of tier 3 industrial cities have Nexa.
Why not just travel a few KM visit the nearby nexa and register in your local RTO, I'm 100% sure this process is a breeze now as I've transferred my Kushaq onto my father's name in Kanpur without paying a single paisa as bribe, it took me 3 visits but at every step RTO officers were helpful.
U are wrong people don't mind traveling before investing in lakhs that too the middle class...so they would be more than happy to travel a few kms to a nexa if they want to...simple.
8:47 in your earlier tests the baleno cvt did 0to 100kph :13.2 sec, 20-80kph : 7.90sec , 40 -100kph: 9.90sec now maruti shifted from cvt to amt
As I own the 3rd Gen Swift, the latest one absolutely is an absolute disaster. In the hope to make it more feature oriented, downsizing the peppy 1.2 K-Series was the worst Maruti could have done. Engine is the main reason Swift was a success, looks like Swift is trying too hard to be like i20, really weird strategy.
But the i20 has a 1.2 four cylinder engine
1st and 2nd gen are best swift
It wouldve made more sense if it was priced way lower than baleno
but sales figures are telling something else😂

9:56, no we don't get wireless charger in baleno. Rather what we get is UV cut glass, telescopic steering adjustment and auto dimming ivrm.

10 Lakhs for a 3 cylinder Swift is simply beyond my understanding. I would rather go for segment above.
Baleno is gonna get the 3 cyl very soon. Actually they're gonna replace the k series 4 cyl with this Z series 3 pot in every car soon.
Lovely video; request a comparison of the Swift and Grand i10 Nios as there's almost a Rs 1 lakh difference between the Swift and the Grand i10 Nios in their top trims...
None of car can match city drive comfort with Baleno. Very good car for city drive.

Here in the USA we don’t get Suzuki and it’s a brand that I miss. The lower price on the Suzuki vehicles make a great vehicle for the price point compared to the high price of cars here in the USA.
The problem is that the version of Swift which is sold in India is of very low quality, body sheet metal, safety, chassis, interior plastic-wise, but the one sold in Japan and Australia is a 5 star rated Swift which costs same as other good cars in US like Mazda 3, BRZ, Miata, Polo, Civic which are way better in every deparyment from Swift, only if suzuki had launched their cars in early 2000 or 90s they would have enough fans to make for the sale.
They are named toyota lookalike as it's a partner and has good sales figures though.reason might be the engines which produces less than 100hp which isn't suitable for us roads which has avg speed of above 110kmph and safety standards as well

@@Praxss ignis is not such a good car... I don't know why it exists.... It's better to buy swift or kwid in that range... It has nothing special to offer.... Too small a car. Just the mileage is good, but that matches with the new Swift as well.... So no USP at all

Baleno looks like muscle car 💪🏻
We got one last year and it replaced our 10 yr old i20. Though its light years behind in outright performance of the Hyundai it shines in all other areas, grabbing the fuel efficiency trophy whenever we do an intercity run.
No offense, but should've bought the new I20 Asta Opt at this point.
Its better to buy Fronx base variant.

Petition to Maruti to bring back the 04 cylinders on the Swift. Also, please do not change the current 04 cylinder engine on the Baleno which is a well balanced car in my opinion as of now.
Eventually the Z12 will replace the K12 in all cars.

@@dashkanishka I'm not really sure, but I guess it will happen when it's facelifted in 1.5 - 2 years from now, and may also get it in hybrid form. I read somewhere that the Fronx will get it first (as a hybrid) and that's slated for a 2025 launch, so the Baleno will likely follow it sometime later.
Swift for me but Baleno makes more sense. But, I do not purchase economy boxes!
Bharat NCAP will help to decide which one is better.. hope they do it soon..

Really it is such a shame that suzuki had picked 10:14 a 3 cylinder motor that too for a car like SWIFT
First generation swift and second generation swift were both amazing and fun to drive. Both first generation swift and second generation swift were even heavier then the third and fourth generation swift.
Anyone who is thinking of buying the Baleno just rush and do it right now before maruti corrects this pricing glitch!!

Swift literally sealed its own coffin with that touch screen model and features 😅
The only point Swift had was a 4 cylinder engine , now its gone. So baleno is better choice.
But skip both of them and buy a well built car & safe car.
There is no wireless charger in the Baleno Alpha. However, it does have wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Steering feedback of swift in baleno would be great enough to stick with Baleno

Ignis is a very underrated car but needs update.
Baleno old diesel car we enjoyed a lot on long drives, this new petrol car is good, front and rear led lights must be changed, looking ugly...both sides...

Both are bad. MS Should launch facelift of baleno as early as possible as the existing look way outdated and simply crappy. Should also make it more safer to get least 4 star in BNCAP.
Baleno alpha AMT is very much better option then 3 cylinder swift and in feature wise Baleno is much premium option then swift like armrest UV cut glass, heads up display and 360 camera
Same interior for Swift...why?? They could've created a unique interior n more engine options...outside India they're offering a proper automatic which is a delight to drive...
Luckily I went for the older generation swift.... Got on Jan 24... Glad I didn't wait for the new one... 😂😂

the best Suzuki engine ever was the 1.3L DDiS engine. it gets more lively with few tuning i.e new turbo a performance air filter & free flow exhaust. A slightly modified 2009 swift DDiS can SMOKEEEE almost all modern hot hatchbacks launched in India.
I think Maruti intentionally paralysed Swift in terms of engine just to shift the enthusiastic customers to Fronx/Baleno
