- Hiya fam, sharing my experiences from my time back home in Cameroon after 5 years. I stayed in Douala - the economic capital and most populated city in Cameroon. It also has the largest port in Central Africa and the most vibrant nightlife in Cameroon. Had a great time connecting with old friends, my mom and also enjoying the little things a.k.a traditional organic Cameroonian food, street food and the vibrant nightlife.

Just discovered you and I like it. I'll follow you home to Cameroon. Just a few observations, Bamenda was the third largest city before the strife. Also Cameroon is in West Central Africa instead of Central Were Africa. Thanks, Love and good luck.

You go gal but want to correct you on a few things GDP is high in CM , but not the highest in Afrcia or even W.Central Africa or Central Africa
Ports of Tema and both ports in Launda are bigger and move more good or metric tons. The later are the 2 major ports in central Africa. I know cause i work with a exporter in Ghana and friend of mine from Sao Tome who was recently murdered.
Ok, on K-Hotel is a good hotel, I recently just posted on another Cameroonian channel that I use Planet Hotel if your own a budget but need a decent hotel. I always try Ibis if possible, but planet is my 2nd go to.
If you listened carefully, you would know i wasn’t referring to the GDP from a general African perspective but rather regional (Central Africa). Cameroon is still the strongest economically in this zone.
Tema and Luanda* Port are not economically located in Central Africa!
Regarding K Hotel, to each their own. That’s what I tried and i really liked it.

did throw in Tema ( my bad ) and this probably a bad habit since I deal with Saotomean and Ghana on a nearly near monthly bases.
Douala like you mention is in Central Africa but West Central where that it is the biggest port from metric ton, but is not the biggest port in "central africa" and CM is not the highest GDP # by any measurement stick for central African by gross or persona capital.

Don't worry. You did a great job. To say perhaps too much, we didn't need anything explicit; That's available elsewhere if people need that direct information. What we wanted was a stylish tour of Cameroon's city life from a Cameroon native of the female persuasion who knows expat life in modern European Germany. You did a great job; Don't feel discouraged. But savvy tourists don't drink straight Merlot; Make it Merlot mixed with Cabernet-Sauvignon, please. The Cameroon dishes look fantastic!

Say their is a civil war in your home city in Cameroun is so wrong and untrue ! Why always paint the devel in Cameroon their is a lot of trouble but not a civil war come one girl !
It’s so funny how the media and other sources try to downplay situations. This is my reality and that of so many anglophone Cameroonians. Going to your country and not being able to visit your hometown not by choice is not funny. True things might have slowed down but we can’t ignore the ruins and trickle down effects this caused.
Totally respect your opinion but this is my experience and what I witnessed 5 years ago was not funny.
