    Same vehicle, same issue, except I didn't get the high coolant temp warning yet, but I can see the resevoir isn't emptying/flowing properly. Ordered the part from the link provided, so we'll see. Appreciate the video.

    I write from Italy. It would be great if you made a video where you disassemble the broken valve to see if it can be repaired. Perhaps it is just a sludge problem in the coolant as happens on some Vag group pumps. I had the same error, but the next day it disappeared, I wouldn't want to change such an expensive valve only to then realize that mine wasn't faulty.

    • @RonDIYMods
      @RonDIYMods  Před měsícem +1

      Yes, I’ll try to make the video of disassembling the original unit to see if I can find the fault.

    Out of curiosity, did you find that the resevoir was filling up slowly and not going back into the engine because it was stuck closed?

      Yes, I actually saw that the coolant was boiling and it was overspilling out of the coolant reservoir.

      @@drjoshuasennedo I have to do it before, or after the termostat exchange? I thought that, if you remove this valve, all the coolant will flow away.

    • @RonDIYMods
      @RonDIYMods  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yes it did solve the issue. You will lose some coolant but not all. You’ll lose coolant from the rear passenger side coolant tank. As you can see in the video all I did is top of the coolant tank turn on the vehicle and top off as needed

  • @williamsebastian88

    Just got the same code but no overheating yet, was it a messy job? Did the coolant puke everywhere when the 3 way valve was taken out? TYIA

    • @RonDIYMods
      @RonDIYMods  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Yes, when I got the code, I didn’t start overheating automatically it actually took a couple days for my car to start over overheating. I actually cleared the code about three times without the car overheating eventually the car start overheating. That’s why I swap out the part. and yes, there is a bit of coolant that goes everywhere. Once you disconnect the hoses. Most of the coolant came out the reservoir that is closest to the firewall on the passenger side engine compartment. Once I was done installing the new part, I actually grabbed a gallon of water and just sprayed it around where the coolant overspill just to make sure to clean the area and don’t get that coolant smell as I’m driving and engine heat up.

    How did you remove the hose clamps and are the the same clamps on the passenger side coolant resovoir tank?

    • @RonDIYMods
      @RonDIYMods  Před 2 měsíci +1

      To remove the the 3 coolant hoses from the 3way valve thermostat all you got to do is pul the C clamps with a pick or small flat head screwdriver. Once you pull on the C Clamps all the way up then you can pull on the hoses.

      Yes, I see what you mean but it’s weird how it looks on screen but it’s not two colors. It’s actually like a pinkish orange color but I guess once it runs through the vehicle when it gets hot, it turns like orange but I use the OEM fluid, which I’m gonna give you the link now. Mopar coolant
