This is probably the most conflicting choice I have so far. If I had to choose one of the two, I think I would go with Aru. She's pretty much there to buff Mika's Crit DMG while freeing up Ako's slot for nyFuuka's Cost Reduction; however, that comes at the cost of the latter's Crit DMG buff getting cancelled out by Aru's due to the buff coming from the same source but since we're talking about more than double the amount of what Fuuka offers, I guess it's a sacrifice worth working with.
At the same time, while Dress Kayoko's guaranteed Critical trait is a welcome net positive, the conditional kind of puts the balance of power way more in favour of Aru. Sure, I'm not expecting Nexon to release an Urban-exclusive version of Mika but to me, Aru's Crit DMG buff sounds more flexible across different type of Piercing focused raids, while Kayoko looks to be a tad more niche; as in, you'd only take her out in situations where you're solely focusing on high scoring raids, either being Urban Binah, or any Piercing raid featuring Urban terrain on Grand Assault. Beyond that, her DEF debuff kind of goes wasted against bosses where DEF is not of concern (so far looking at schale.gg, only Hiero has huge DEF status aside from Binah but the raid also features the green relic to debuff him) so again, it kind of goes full circle with her being mostly there for Urban Binah.
I've yet to find any footage of Kayoko being used on any other raids beyond Urban Binah (I'm sure JP players took her out for Urban Hiero on GA,) plus knowing that Swimsuit Kanna will come soon and so happens to be paired alongside another Binah raid (Akane's premium solution) I think if I were in a situation where I were tight on pyros + need to roll on units such as nyFuuka on her rerun or any units to tackle Set (the upcoming tower content,) Aru is the best choice of the two.
Then again, both are standard units that will go to the regular banner so if anyone feels brave enough to rely on spooks, there's your cue to skip them both.

You should be able to recover for the festival banner. Well, the 6% boost one anyway. I am in a tough spot. I really want these two, but I also really want the band girls. The band girls are limited, so I may wait and go for them and hope for some luck for a spook.
I heard we are getting Fuuka NY in a rerun banner, so I'm saving for that. I have 39k pyros saved. (Plana-chana was kind to me and gave me Hina with only 20 pulls! Screw you Arona!)
New Year Gourmet is the banner right after Opera 68. So 10 days time.
I’m also skipping this one in favor of Fuuka and maybe the rest of there banner depending how it goes.
Dress Kayoko really looks fantastic, it's no wonder that fan-artists went crazy for her.
But yeah, she's really laser focused on Binah. All other high-defense raids are either AoE focused, or in case of Hiero have some other annoying gimmick going for them. I'll definitely grab Dress Aru, and depending on how Arona behaves, I might also get Kayoko.

Nihahaha, to hell with Nagisa, it's D.Kayoko all the way. Cut me some slack, let me pull for what I want too, I suffered badly from the fest banner after all.

And then i sparked for dress Ako.

welp I really cant choose to whether go meta (get Aru) or go waifu (get Kayoko). Best option is to get one and spark the other, or best case scenario, get both in first 10 pulls, but worse comes to worst I dunno which to choose ToT
If you don't care about scores and stuff, go Kayoko, meta chasing can be exhausting and boring, better enjoy the game with the characters you like rather than chasing a number. That's how I usually go about my personal choices.
Get them both, period.

Why did you specifically mention "and none of it comes from her EX"?
Self buffs and external buffs stack separately. For example, Pina's and Himari's buffs work together.
Yes, that's true, at the time or writing it I was still under the impression that only the source matters when it comes to buffs and I was grouping self buffs into the bunch, but I've been busy and out of town so I could not fix that in time. In the end it does not really matter as the result is the same.

Im a midbie without Ako and even Himari, should i get D.Aru as the alternative for Ako? Cuz i want to pull for Nagisa coming up 2 months later too but i just have enough to spark one ):
Is a bit of a hard choice. Nagisa is limited and Dress Aru is not, usage wise they are about the same, but I'd say Aru has probably a bit more uses. However, they are used in different content so is also hard to compare them fairly. If I was in your position I'd take Aru because I feel like she offers more universal value while Nagisa is only good in explosive content. So Aru has more potential to find new uses.

What if you shield her? If that work?
I don't know how infiltration interacts with shield. I have not been able to test myself, but as far as I know Binah has not being an issue for Kayoko, so I'm guessing there's no need for a shield there. Also it says when attacked not when damage taken so my guess is shield do not prevent the removal of the state.
