when people hurt you over and over think of them like sandpaper. they may scratch and hurt you a bit but in the end you end up polished and they end up useless
Usually I think those commercials before videos are super annoying but this one is really special. I love that concept and the message that is sending to the young girls.

One of the first ads on youtube that really made me stop and pay attention to it, instead of skipping. I smiled, it was just really nice. Beauty is however you define it, not magazines or the media. It's a really good message for all the women out there, especially younger women. And really, all men can take something from this message too!
These girls all ARE beautiful though, the pictures all have blemishless skin with an even skin tone etc... as someone who suffered from awful acne as a teen, and even now, my face would never fit in with their ones.
"No duckface. Why are you making duckface?" lol!!! Props to that mom for trying to keep her daughter from following that ridiculous trend. XD

Man when it asked me if I wanted to skip this video, I didn't. I wanted to share it. Kids my age need to see these kinds of messages because most of my friends don't accept themselves. It's hard for me to accept myself when my friends are pointing out their own flaws. I've never had a problem with how I look, but I definitely think this video is going to open up a lot of people's eyes
Dove allow your real customers to submit selfies n make a commercial from that! Im 37 n been using dove since I was 10 years old!
As a professional photographer, I work a lot with professional models, but also with non-professional females often as well. I have always taken pride in keeping editing to a minimum and not using any photo manipulation to perfect a persons "look." This is the first ad I have clicked on in my 6 years of CZcams usage. There is a powerful message hidden in this... whether it's to promote a product or not. Girls. EVERYTHING in magazine ads are fake. Liquify, warp, airbrush, clarity... Be you.
One of the only ads that I didn't "skip" This caught my attention, I almost cried watching it lol wow I'm way too emotional
This is the first ad I've ever NOT skipped before a video besides the trailer for One Direction's "This Is Us." Great video. Very inspiring.
All these girls are so pretty! ........And that's why I think this ad doesn't exactly "work." If you get a group of naturally beautiful girls and tell them to take "natural" selfies, of course they'll look fine. But take an "average" looking person, and tell them to take a selfie without any makeup; I bet no one would post a nice comment on it. I consider myself pretty average looking and I would never walk out of the house without makeup on; not because I care about what other people say, but because I don't like the way I look. When the media starts putting more "average" looking models in ads, maybe then the definition of beauty will change... because it won't change by having naturally beautiful girls stop wearing makeup.

any time a dove commercial comes on in the videos, i NEVER skip. its always so worth watching!
I always end up watching Dove comercials to its full entirety because they always tend to be very inspiring. Lovely idea for girls out there.
some boys are really self conscious too. i have this friend, if i was actually saying this out loud id be getting emotional but anyway, he was cute i have to admit i had this small liking(friendly) towards him. I was part of his friend group after sometime i started noticing some of his friends teasing him about his chubby face and tummy i didnt really think much of it, i also knew his father would beat him but i still didnt think much of it. Once a teacher sent me to find him one day since he had gone to the bathroom i walked inside (unisex bathroom and the teacher was my dance teach)(we were quite young) i walked inside i dont make much noise so i went unnoticed. When i walked inside i heard something that sounded like sobs of course i went to him helped him blah blah i dont really wanna go into detail but he was in a really bad place and i personally think not only females but males too should be taught they are always beautiful /handsome okay? he was a very good friend and person.

My mother never wanted photos taken of her but I clicked the camera anyway . I'm so glad I have these photos because she past away last October and these are true memory's nit staged photos . Keep taking pictures .

I used to think i was not beautiful, but after a time i realised that i find beauty in everyone so everyone is beautiful which includes me. I love gals who are natural even more beacuse they are confident about themselves.

I wish dove can come to the philippines too for their campaigns specially in the provinces... so many beautiful girls with self esteem that has hit rock bottom should get the recognition and realize that they are beautiful. I'm veing somewhat hypocrytical here for i myself have self esteem issues and get anxiety attacks whenever i need to present reports, but that is the same reason i joined the free being me campaign, to try and boost my own self esteem and others too.
people judge you because they dont have the time to take a second and see your good side.

Dove always makes the best ad because it's much more than just an ad :).
Why not pull kids out of school for an afternoon and make them do a project that focuses on defining their self-worth/feeling good about themselves for a reason that ISN'T related to beauty? All that "projects" like this do is reinforce the idea that your confidence and self-worth are based on beauty.
This video changed to way I feel about myself and let me reevaluate the kind of person I want to be
This is a beautiful commercial. I really wish that someone would pick this up and make these dove commercials a bigger deal. Self esteem is usually one of the biggest problems that people have. The worst part is that it keeps going. I think the reason that these commercials have such an emotional impact is because it is proving us how wrong we really are when we perceive ourselves as ugly. I just kinda wish more people would prove to us that we are pretty people and we do have pretty features that override the small blemishes we have.

I want everyone to feel beautiful inside also. The world would be such a healthy place if that were the reality. But it also might be worth noting, that physical beauty isn't the only characteristic that should be valued.
Love this commercial!! I've always loved how dove doesn't focus on the supermodels but on the real people! I wish they would have done this with guys though...
you may not notice it, but you are beautiful, infact every one of us are no matter if were tall, short, thin, thick, ect. people are always pointing out their flaws, why not point out the things that are pretty. YOU. you are beautiful don't be afraid to show the real you, you shouldn't have to change in order to "fit in" and if some people don't like the real you then wave them goodbye and find someone who does like the real you. and lastly for my closing statement just remember that You Are Beautiful!

I have been working on seeing what will happen when I "over-edit" a photo I took of a friend a long time ago. It's pretty close up to their face and I used the flash, so they look pretty funky. I have been smoothing out the background, getting rid of blemishes, and getting their hair to have fewer flyaways. Funny thing is, she doesn't look as happy now in the photo. :\
