The funniest thing about this entire saga to me is that you beat him by just not talking to him. Seeing his rant it's so obvious he thinks he's gifted with some sort of magical silver tongue that can immediately win anyone to his side and he seems to really think he could have done the same to you guys. The fact that you never gave him the chance clearly destroyed him and I'm in romantic love with it. Well played.
Yep. Tommy really did show the power of what "don't feed the trolls" can do. Pat and Ian simply ignoring Tommy's pleas to have an audience with him completely broke the guy. It was great to see.
Tommy is a narcissist and loves attention. Any kind, good or bad, just give him any and he's happy. Not giving him any attention at all is the only solution.
I disagree, I don’t see the harm in meeting him, looking at the hardware, and calling out any bs on Tommy’s part.

He seems to be deep into the "Cluster B" personality disorders. Hints for that are:
- Has to make himself look good at any opportunity. (You had some of that here. "HE worked with Miamoto san". "HE wants to reach out", Makes his Company look like it made the original Intellevision. etc. ...)
- Will only admit to minor mistakes and only if he can put a "I'll be better" type of sentence after it.
- Emotional manipulation. "HE is not mad. Just disappointed". "Think of all the people he employs", etc. ...
- And the most telling one. He wants to argue until you are tired of arguing with him and either give him, what he wants or start to compromise.
- That is also, why he wants to talk personally, behind closed doors, to anyone criticizing him or his product.
- Also lies. Lots and lots of lies.
It’s so good to see the two of you on screen again. Hasn’t been too long since episode 350 but it feels like forever after listening for so many years.
When Tommy showed his screenshot of his comment at 19:44 of this podcast (or at about 7:30-7:40 within Tommy’s clip) the thumbs up was blue, as in he liked his own comment.

The real reason Tommy is disappointed is that Pat and Ian didn't fall or bend to his narcissistic shit.
He's upset they didn't just fall in line like the others, and he doesn't understand that.

It's a shame that Tommy was so smart when he was 12 and able to lead a big company like that to have 20% of the video game market back in 1980. Now he's 55 and can't produce a proper video game console. It's really sad.
I want to thank Tommy for the hard work on the Nintendo Wii. It was a very innovative and fun console! Thank you Tommy! And thanks also Mr. Miyamoto that, I'm sure, he give you some kind of help.

As an outsider looking in on this entire saga over what feels like a millennia, I think it's safe to say that Mr. Tallarico is going through the world's LONGEST midlife crisis. He feels that he must be this "big shot video game creator" and that anyone who brings him down to a level of embarrassment is personally attacking him and his ego now. He absolutely cannot take criticism, based on the tweets he showed in his own video! He makes wild claims on a regular basis (i.e. working on the Wii WITH Miyamoto). And then he backtracks when he realizes he's been had and tries to become "your friend" and asks you to come to his home like a crazy ex girlfriend wanting to get back together with you. I'm glad that his insanity is out there and hopefully, more sane people will see this man for the lunatic he appears to be.
Love the podcast and everything you guys do with it. Also, Pat! If you could PLEASE put together the best rants of the CU Podcast in 1 long video, I think that'd be an amazing video! I had an Intellivision growing up and have been following this Amico disaster from the beginning. I actually ordered it. It has been amazing how dead on balls accurate Pat and Ian have been throughout this whole thing and the amount of b.s. they got for it. They called everything.
I remember Tommy when he was touring as Master of Ceremonies with Videogames Live. I remember him introducing himself to the crowd as a "composer whose worked on over 300 video games". And I remember thinking to myself "300 videogames? Well, I just dropped a bunch of money on a ticket to a symphony concert featuring music by some of my favorite video game composers...so how come I've never heard of you?". His wikipedia page mentions 84 games....and he didn't even do the music for a lot of them (just SFX or some other project role).
His whole on-stage persona was just....He had the vibe of a dude who always wanted to be a rock star, but was piggybacking off of this entirely different medium to try and live that dream. I was used to other Symphony Projects like "Distant Worlds" (Final Fantasy) and "Symphony of the Goddesses" (Zelda) where it's really more about the music. For VGL it just seemed like Tommy was trying to make it all about himself. Which was WEIRD, since 90+% of the setlist that night wasn't even his music!!

Watching this was pretty sad. My first exposure to Tommy Tallarico was through gaming magazines. I specifically remember walking through the grocery store with my mom and thumbing through a copy of EGM where Tommy was interviewed about Wild9 for the PS1. I thought it was cool that a creative music guy had found his niche in video games.
To see him descend into an hour-long frothing of subtle manipulation attempts which all stem from a clear inability to accept helpful criticism or SIMPLY disregard it if he finds it not to be helpful... is, as Tommy said... disappointing.
Tommy fell out of relevance as gaming magazines died too, so he's kind of lost and very unknown to gamers outside of a certain generation. Aside from having co-founded Video Games Live which honestly looks like a good show, Tommy's BS-ing aside.
Scott the Woz is about half his age, and when Tommy replied to Scott on Twitter to "hook him up" after he posted a picture of his old consoles (which included Intellivision), Scott did not answer. He's just not that relevant to a younger crowd. Most of his sycophants are middle-aged guys more closer to him in growing-up gaming experiences.
The smile on Pat’s face as the video progresses is gold. Knowing how everything played out. He’s just so excited.

A poorly done retro-ish focused ouya with an over engineered controller
I think it should be pointed out that the final edited response was 50 minutes. Even being extremely generous and saying he only cut out 10 minutes total, and somehow only took 30 minutes to edit and splice in clips and images, that is minimum 90 minutes for what was supposed to be a short response. Then he said he was on his way to work.
And if Pat is right, he spent time beforehand writing a script too.
This “quick” video was a full day (of wasted) effort.

My first comment about the Amico is to Tommy Tallarico himself back in 2019 in this comment section when he used to post here with me predicting the pretty much the exact reasons for the Amico's imminent failure and pointing out Tommy's anti-Nintendo bias. I was on board with Pat and Ian regarding the Amico pretty much from day one. This rebuttal is outstanding.
If Tommy was so biased towards Nintendo then why the F did he worked with Miyamoto-san on Metroid Prime and Wii if he was biased on Nintendo in the first place.

I met Tommy when I was a teen at VGL in Saskatoon. I was 16 at the time. I got to go on stage and play Space Invaders. Before getting to play, he asked a little about me. I told him my name and that I was 16. He was taken back like he was SHOCKED that a 16 year old was taller than him. He also said my name sounded like a video game character's or like a football player's.
ALSO, I had a copy of Tony Hawk Pro Skater on PS1 for signing. He signed his name in VERY large on the front manual and used a smaller marker to right in the manual where his studio is mentioned. He writes, "That's ME!" with an arrow pointing to his studio...in which Joey Kuras' name is listed in the credits.

If there's one thing I learned in life it's that narcissists never apologize. If backed into a corner that would make sense to make an apology, they go out of their way to avoid it. If the words "I'm sorry" ever leave his mouth, it's likely in the context of "I'm sorry you feel way" which is not an apology, but a way to place blame on others.

I also think it would have been much funnier to have had this response made when the rant was first posted so that their responses may have made a difference. Tommy specifically asks where he was attacking them (atari age of course was barely mentioned in his rant) and pointing out where could have been funny in the moment.
