In who shot mr burns, she seems to understand why mr burns is a bad person and shot him intentionally because we can see her doing the suspicious eyes. She also can somehow drive a car.
Did you know The Treehouse of Horror Episodes were originally meant to be canon but the creator didn't know how to tie it into the main story at the time?
I feel like the first Treehouse of Horror can be considered canon, because the episode focuses on several characters of the show telling the stories rather than the stories happening by themselves.
What about Ozmodiar, the Great Gazoo knockoff who appeared in "The Simpsons Spinoff Showcase" and HOMR? Yeah the former wasn't cannon, but the latter is, I was my Ozmodiar!
I love that episode about them banning sugar when you saw the newscast and there was a bag of sugar with this crazy mean look on his face behind jail bars.
Great video Lydia, brought up a lot of great memories for me. The Springfield files and stone cutter episodes especially. My mom loved the songs in those episodes.
I really enjoy having moments like these in the Simpsons. Not only are they a nice break from the grounded style of each episode, but also because tbh if the show was all realistic then having such a cartoonish art style would make it look super uncanny and it would feel like the series might as well just had been a live action sitcom.

Everyone talks about how the earlier seasons were more grounded when it comes to the supernatural, but season 2 had Grandpa inherit a fortune from his girlfriend who passed away and her spirit is featured prominently throughout the episode. Her appearance isn't a throwaway gag either (like most supernatural elements of the Simpsons tend to be) but is actually a major part of the episode's plot. Grandpa _is_ the only one who encounters her though, so it is possible to argue her ghost was his imagination, but the episode doesn't give much implication of that. It's actually one of the more touching episodes and pretty much confirmed the canon existence of ghosts in the Simpsons reality.

I wanted to point out that in season 6 ep 14 Homer displayed intelligence by saying that the comet will burn to the size of a chihuahua head and told his family not to worry about the comet. Later on, we see that the comet did burn to the size of a chihuahua head. Since homer still has that crayon stuck in his brain, how did he know that the comet won’t be a threat? Maybe homer is faking his dumbness? Idk, but I believe the Simpson theory community can. Reply with your own theory Bonus, the same ep shows that the pets of the simpsons also show signs of high intelligence. They seems to know how to watch tv, and they know that the humans don’t know they can do that and they try to hide the fact they know how to watch tv, shown by the fact that they switch off the tv when Bart comes in the room and pretends to be asleep. There are several cases where cats and dogs have demonstrated some "human behaviour" like watching tv or open cabinets for treats or toys. They, too, can replicate some actions like bringing specific things when their owners ask for it. They can understand, in a very primate way, our language. Its completely normal as their intelligence is advanced, just not like our own.
Rubberband reality. I don't get why Matt Groening allowed supernarural and cartoonish elements in canon episodes. Seasons 1-4 were the better years for The Simpsons before Homer went into a coma which I considered a canon theory of the show. The earlier seasons (seasons 1-4) were much more grounded in reality when it comes to gags, with the exceptions from seasons 7-9. But seasons 5-6 and seasons 10-present ruined the show by adding more supernatural elements just for the sake of the gags.
I have never disliked the Jockey episode but its not one of my favourites. You forgot a monster. The 3 eyed Crow that was first seen in the title sequence of the season 20 episode, "Take My Life, Please". It has since appeared when there is wide shots of the Nuclear power plant, which suggests it evolved due to the power plants radiation, the same as Blinky. Also, would the giant Spider count that Homer encounters when he tries to flee the Nuclear Power Plant to go and visit the Duff Brewery? "To overcome the spiders curse, simply quote a bible verse."
It's nice that you point out the strange things that happen in the canon episodes instead of just the Treehouse of Horror. On a similar note, can we get a kill count for the canon episodes? It's always interesting to see how often they kill people in the regular episodes.
