You are great. You know Thailand better than many Thais.
Albino u left me why
Hi Bangkok's Buddy did I maybe catch a glimpse of Mark Wiens at MBK???
Bangkok for me is also one of those places that if as a westerner you miss a little of that "mall culture" of preceding decades then you'll enjoy your time exploring these spaces. It makes a great mid day break from the humidity and you can catch an evening film at a couple of the superb cinemas.
Malls are a necessity in a hot humid country! Idk why people complain so much about new air conditioned public spaces!
ICONSIAM has garnered 13 global awards at various world-class competitions, including the Best Design of the Year at the World Retail Awards 2019 hosted by the World Retail Congress, the first prize in the Best Shopping Center category at the MAPIC Awards 2019 in Cannes, France, the 2020 VIVA Best-of-the-Best Design and Development Award, and being ranked in the top four in the Best Shopping Center Category at the MIPIM Awards 2021.
Yes I second that and completely surprised you didn’t even mention Iconsiam as your usually more through with facts and it’s certainly a lot more interesting than Siam Center 🙂
ICONSIAM is no doubt the best mall in the world.
Yes, one bad point for “Retired for you” !!! But the other malls were all worth mentioning.
Iconsiam is way overhyped, imo. Impressive, but not the best in Bangkok....and certainly not the best in the world. There were a couple of floors that didn't impress me in terms of layout and design. That floating market concept is tacky. The terrace views, though...very lovely. Iconsiam is top 5 in Bangkok, I believe....just not sure which #.
@@majorkade Icon Siam - is the most beautiful Shopping Mall in BKK by far! Spectacular River evening Views from the Restaurants too! Very good for evening stroll
Thanks a lot …. We appreciate your relentless efforts to promote culture and tourism of South Asian region !
My all time fave malls are Siam Paragon(best for groceries, movie, and food), Central Chidlom(best for shopping), Central Embassy(best for fancy movie experience and their food court “Eat thai”), and Em district(if you look for a quiet place to work and hold a meeting during the day) in that order.
Velaa(Chidlom) also is a lovely community mall to hangout but with less people during the day and at night assuming you all have been to “The Commons”.
Thanks Chris, your videos really make me miss Bangkok. I haven’t been in almost 15 years. So thanks for the great videos. Much appreciated. 😀😀
Woooow! This video is very special and awesome. Thx very much. I really loved to watch it. Great and please more of that kind👍🙏
Great list! I haven't been to a couple you've mentioned so I'm definitely going next time! Thanks for the info!!
Thank you for this! It's really informative and will use it as a guide when I'm in BKK this August.
What a fantastic vlog! Completely agree with your choices. Keep up the good work. I will be in Bangkok in October and can't wait 😎👍
Tip from locals: Avoid Terminal 21 food court during lunch break, almost impossible to be seated.
Absolutely. And outside lunch time its amazing place
Ah yesss better after 13.30
Yeah, fantastic Chris this is what I been waiting for I missed it so much especially MBK & Siam Square.
You surprised me. Shopping malls - yawn - I thought. You made these look genuinely exciting and worth exploring. I'll be heading to them when the heat or rain gets to be extreme. Thank you Chris.
Great list , I completely agree . I love the Emporium , I was there when it opened just love it .
Thanks Chris and Hayley we went to Terminal 21 ,Siam Paragon,MBK and Icon Siam we were only in Bangkok for 3 days so much more things to do but we ran out of time lol next time we go back to Thailand it’ll definitely be more then 2weeks we went to Chiang Mai for a couple of days love it there we’ll definitely will check out the other ones like the last two on your list great videos as always
Appreciate the level of honesty in your videos
Outside of the Sukhumvit area, we go to JJ Mall for local Thai gifts, etc, and then to ICONSIAM for the higher end experience.
Excellent list 👍 Bangkok is full of surprises. One of my favourite cities. Can't wait to return soon 😉
Another brilliant video!
A new video from RWFY is a highlight of my day :)
Terminal 21 and the MBK were my favorites places to go when I visited Thailand a few years ago. I really need to go back!
Thanks buddy, I enjoyed watching your videos👍👌
Thank you Chris.thats amazing
I honestly just really enjoy the Chatuchak weekend market, for that damp busy market atmosphere to contrast the cool visits to the Siam shopping area. Siam has been my go-to for decades but next time I’m going to give the other malls that were unknown to me a visit… Bangkok hasn’t been sitting still I see!
A great video Chris showcasing the highlights of your 5 selected malls. Of course Icon Siam has a specific appeal being along the riverside and showcasing a remarkable Apple Store and great restaurant selections. I’m also keen on Emporium as I’ve shopped there loads in years past as it’s never to busy and love the gourmet market. Emquartier is always been confusing to navigate. As far as Terminal 21 it’s also a favorite but not so much for shopping, grab a bite to eat, love the variety in restrooms. Do checkout the Japanese thrones they have special treatments! Very informative mall video👍🏻
The arbitrary "Top 5 in the Sukhumvit Corridor" is based on a random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system, and so it means nothing to me! Chris is sometimes intellectually lazy - he should have mentioned a truly spectacular, world class shopping mall - Icon Siam!
amazing! the best video you produced! Need a chiang mai version
Really love the editing on this video, it has Travel Channel written all over it.
Great review, thanks!
Love your site - trying to catch up from the start- got to September 2020! I love MBK. That combination of stores and stalls.
Loved your video brother. I can agree to most of what you said except number 1.
Awesome content, keep it up for anothers ranking what you can create
Thanks for the great story I moved from there to live in the forest 300 km. away from Bangkok and have never been back to experience this beautiful shopping mall in the city for 15 years.
Good job on describing Bangkok's beautiful malls. I've been to all of them multiple times as I lived there for three years. My favorite is Terminal 21 mainly because I lived in the immediate area and was convenient.
Can't wait to explore these awesome malls in March 👏🏻✨🤩😍
Useful information as usual.
Dope videos, I can’t wait to do this one day , bless.
Awesome video ! I enjoy it so much . Thank you for sharing . Have a nice week my friend !
Thanks Chris for your videos. Very helpful in visiting Bangkok!
Brilliant! I love this episode. I really enjoyed it. 👍
My No.1 is definitely EMquartier! Mainly visit upstairs restaurants. Not a big fan of downstairs food court. I also like Central embassy. There are many nice restaurants, especially Eathai!!!! 😋 Oh and don’t forget Habito mall is also such a lovely local mall in On nut. Great banh mi / Vietnamese restaurant. For me shopping malls in BKK are for eating lovely food, not for shopping high brands.
Thanks for impormision and thanks you for sharing your nice video.
Epic, perfect, hilarious pause at :48. Well played, sir
Thank you for your beautiful sharing! Have a nice Sunday! 😁
Thailand = Land of Elephants ❌
Thailand = Land of Shopping Mall☑️
LOL TRUE 😂
Excellent info and even better editing 👌👌
Icon Siam - is the most beautiful Shopping Mall in BKK by far! Spectacular River Views from Restaurants too! Very good for evening stroll
Complete waste of money. Nothing there that wasn't already in Bangkok lol. How many Gucci stores do we need
@@mw7517 Spectacular evening River Views from Restaurants
@@mw7517 Have you been inside? Have you seen the interior decorations on the top 3 floors? Have you seen the sundown over Chao Pryia River from the Restaurant Terrace?
@@alblack9869 You mean the soggy sewage water lol. Come on bro 😂
Good for walking exercise- indoor and outdoor 555
My favorite teenager hang-out place in the 70s was SIam Square complex where foreign movies were screened at Siam, Lido and Scala theaters. It was the place to meet and pick-up Chulalongkorn University students and treated them at a Thai hambuger joint named "Ho-Burger". Good old kid days. Now retired and spend more time at The EM-District (The Mall Group) consisiting of The Emporium, The EmQuartier and soon The EmSphere which all are 15 minutes walking distance from home.
I went inside three of these on my recent trip. Terminal 21 was most convenient since the MRT station I used mostly was right there.
Great Video. I have a soft spot for MBK, since the first time I came to Bangkok was the early 90s. For pure nostalgia value, I like a trip to Pantip Plaza.
MBK for the arcade and deals. Terminal 21 for the mix of quirky shops and name brands as well as the atmosphere. Really coming from the states nothing prepares you for BKK malls. They're mind blowing!
I love the MBK. It’s the first time I experienced reclining theater seats way back in 2006, before the US caught on. I went there for years to get the “good” knock off jeans. We just retired to our home in Chiangmai and we need to go back there to shop. Good times.
Thank you for introducing my country.
Awesome video, I don’t think much of malls but they are now serving so many different things that checking them out can be a couple of hours killed in day when you want to just explore and want to do something but not too much. 👍👌
He's such a drama queen just like TD
Thanx Chris. I hit all of those this trip after seeing this video. Got a great workout for sure 555.
Great and informative thanks
nice to show about Bangkok now thanks
Great Vlog mate, cheers.
Great insight🔥🔥
Great video, thanks alot
That MBK center would be great fun to explore.!
Your boss Lucas said that Pattaya and the bargirls were the best .
Chris 🇹🇭👍🥳🙏🏼 Thank you for your sharing
I saw you filming in emporium earlier this week for this video :)
Icon Siam is one of my faves, its a lot harder to get to but worth the trip!
Now this is awesome place
Holy cow, I didn't know there were so many modern mega malls in Bangkok! I just hung out in Terminal 21 for all my time there 3 years ago.
It just 40%
A lot of the mega mall is in bangkok.
Lol there are tens of them. How could u not have known that? Dear lord
I go to the big Bangkok malls for food and books (I live in Chiang Mai and buy my clothes, etc at small local places). LOVE the Paragon food court and gourmet grocery which you didn't cover. I also like the restaurants in the EM Quartier. Both the Paragon and Quartier have great huge Kinokuniya chain bookstores. I also really like the Lad Prao Central mall (easy to get to on BTS, one stop past Mo Chit), great food and just a really good atmosphere of almost all local people.
going there today paragon. i missed your event at lush had to do a gig that saturday. hope you do another one sometime. .
shopping malls in bangkok are different class👍
Only thing hotter than Bangkok is this awesome vlog.
Sir your content is next level!
Love your video😍
Love your videos. You definitively should check Asiatique The Riverfront. Its an open mall but you will find an European style flavour in the heart of Bangkok (opposite to Icon Siam) with a lot of a terrasse-restaurant by the Chaopraya river.
I now live in Australia and these shopping malls make Australia shopping malls look cheap.
I'm from Montreal Canada same here our mall's are old outdated living in Asia I realise we going down since 1998 fast
@@phanna565👍
@@phanna565wtf. Im from montreal too. Small world. I was about to say the same 😂
Ngl Westfield is kinda cheap
I'm from Sydney aus and totally agree. Couldn't believe seeing Ferraris 4 sale in paragon up on level 4 or whatever it was
Love your voice thanks for sharing your top 5 malls
For me...Sukhumvit area
1.Siam Paragon the best Supermarket
2.Central World the best biggest space for walk
3.Terminal 21 nice design and the best cheapest food court
4.MBK have everything you want
5.Emporium & Emquatier very nice view and quiet because everything too expensive over the top
Siam Paragon has the best Supermarket hands down. For me Central Embassy is even quieter, at some point it’s called Central Empty cuz everything is hi-end and hella expensive lol
@@bladelight273 you forget ICON SIAM. the last one, very luxury by the river
I usually aim for Emquartier Emporium when I want to visit unique authentic Japanese restaurant around those area
@@francescarizzo3401 Icon Siam is by the river not sukhumvit area
@Betallday Icon Siam is by the river not sukhumvit area
Thank for video
ตุณตริส contentคุณสุดยอดมาก ขอคารวะเลย👍❤️
Congratulations for this video and edition.
My top 5 are
#1 Central World
#2 The Em
#3 Central Chidlom
#4 MBK
#5 Gateway
My list is a bit different from yours, Chris. I like your channel. It's fun to watch. Thank you for your work.
Hey buddy: I appreciate your info! I’m going to be moving to Thailand soon!
Love the channel. Heading to the kingdom in late October so subscribed to thainee for a bit of research. Disappointed in the lack of koh chang content as will be there for a week.
Teenee app. Sorry for misspell
In my childhood, MBK was the best at that time.
Siam Square area At that time, there was no Paragon.
Central Plaza was another shopping mall, where working teenagers have to spend money there.
The Em Complex is a bit expensive for middle-income people, so I went there very little,
Terminal 21 is where you eat delicious food and pay the least.
Icon Siam is a little hard to get to, but good.
Everywhere is good too. because there is a cold air conditioner
Not only to escape the heat but also to escape the madness and noise of the street! Great video 👍
If you afraid heat & madness better you stay at home
Good list, EmQuartier in my opinion also has the best Starbucks ive ever been to, very cool right at the top.
I always stay at Terminal 21 Grand center point so i end up in the shopping mall very often, Some great memories watching you there. MBK is just a must goto to say you have been, Its organised chaos :) Siam Paragon is a nice mall, Realy like the convience of them linking up to the next mall. On my last Visit we had a look at Central an you are not wrong about it been big. Anyway Great Video
My favorite would to be something way off the list for most people, but it has a special place in my heart. It’s a place I use to meet up with my mom after school. It’s a place my dad use to always take us. It’s also a place where I had my first kiss. It’s the Original Central Plaza, located near the Chatuchak Market.
I don't shop and I don't watch movies, so the food court at Terminal 21 is my fave. 😁
😅😅🤭😉👍
Yes, food courts at Terminal 21 are amazing! I also love MBK food courts.
Nice place. The one near valencia with the pool is my all time favourite though.
some thai peple never see before.Thank you for your video.
I did my leg work while living in BKK and learned where to go exactly depending what I'm lookin for,. For the camera and computer stuff head to Fortune mall in Din Daeng MRT station as someone pointed out.
They have good second hand camera shop on as it 5th floor, but if you looking for a Film or more rare camera stuff there is this old shopping mall near China town called Mega Plaza which is worth checking out.
Also JJ mall is interesting but more for wholesale, they do have lot of coffee equipment and beans if you are a coffee fanatic.
I'm now living in Koh Chang and while I don't miss the Big City life I do miss the availability of everything, window shopping and the buzz.. here we rely on Lazada for stuff.
well i just pause the video,at 50sec :) im happy already ;) good video :) the malls also ;)
Great list! Got Teenee but havent been to Thailand...yet!
Good list. MBK is my personal favorite.
wow wow wow ...my previous hotel stay was litterally only a 15 minute walk from your #1 pick .....I had no idea , I will visit next time I go to Thailand. thank you
Thank you for the video, very useful ;)
Great loved the tour, I would not have enough suit cases to get it all home lol. Tfs hugs
Timestamps are awesome!
Please include them in your video description.
I agree with your last. People don't usually rate the Ems, but I'm a fan. And yes the park is close by too.
That pause at 48 seconds was legendary!
Thanks for good content, big hug too u bro.🙏😊🇹🇭
