I mean the best dj controller for scratch maybe a love the plates that are so metallic and heavy that's what i ever wanted in a dj controller good review
I mean the best dj controller for scratching for serato maybe i love the plates that are so metallic and heavy that's what i ever wanted in a dj controller good review also that you said that its the most smooth crossfader i think that's fantastic for scratching
Damn i really love this one the tempo the bottoms
Why 2 decks? And why not 12s. Looks sweet. Love a lot of the features. But I need 4. Great price tho. Gigs have all but gone. I pray this clears up ASAP.
Instablaster
Best 2 channel controller this year so far and maybe one of the best ever created from what I see, but $1500 and no dual effects independently for each channel , no mic echo, no sampler volume? Come on Rane!!!!
Is there a way to buy another piece of hardware to get the features the Rane ONE is missing? I mean mic echo is simple to get through lots of standalone mic supporting devices. I just don't know what is independent dual effects... Also what's a sampler volume?
I have a s8 and I like it , but am going to add 2 turntables for dvs , still 4 decks and can mix real vinyl if I want , think it was 1000$ when I bought it , looking back this would of been comparable , but I mix dnb so I need 4 decks
I think the sampler volume is in the software
This is the only reason why I haven't purchase it yet! No on board effects! Who wants to go through Serato for these effects? Still debating on the Pioneer Rev 7 which is currently on back order. They have a lot more features, but think the Rane is built more like a turntable! Pioneers are a lot more money too! $500 more! Is it worth the extra money? Heard the pioneers have bad cross faders if you are into scratching. Last about 6 months. that's the negative on the Rev 7. So which one is better??? Pioneers look a lot better and have led screens for your tracks. Still deciding. Rane ones are in stock too!
This is the best review of the RANE ONE out. You touched on all the things I wanted to know, that the other reviews overlooked. Thank you!
Thank you :)
and this is the best comment on the best review of the best controller
Yea he did
This is a very excellent review. Dude!! I'm not even a DJ and I feel like I need to buy one so I can play with it at home.
I agree. Probably the most exciting controller I've seen in a long time. Its been worth the wait
I have both the Numark NSIII and now the Rane ONE, I am not a turntablist but grew up on turntables so it was a no brainer. It is so smooth as I am more of a HOUSE Dj. Love this unit.
how do the two units compare?
An amazing time to be a dj.so many great professional products about. This rane is definitely hard as hell.
Thanks for the Review, i think I gonna love the new RANE
I'm getting one the day it comes out thanks for the review
The Rane Version of Numark NS7 but an upgraded one😍
Good Job Rane 😍😍😍
Good observation also the numark ns7 3 have a 4 channel mixer
Absolutely correct. I loved my NS7. I'm sure I'm gonna love this one. Bad thing is I just bought the DDJsrt 1000 last year. lol
The NS7iii had way more features
Take away Mag crosfader and jogwheel size and NS7III is way more superior over the Rane ONE
@@djbonio2583 same jog wheel.
It's now listed as "coming soon" on The vIrtual DJ homepage, which means native support is on the way
So if you need more options for this controller, and better support for things like direct streaming and STEMS separation, that should be coming shortly :)
Hey Thxs for the video it has helped a lot. I have had mine for about 3 weeks and I absolutely love it. Still learning all the features but your video has help out tremendously!!!
Great to hear, glad we could help!
For a beginner dj do u advice I get this or d sr2 or sx2?
I’m a vinyl junkie and this is making me think about going out and buying the rane , top review
Most detailed review out there🔥
I’ve been waiting for this been a rekordbox user all my dj journey but after seeing the Rane One I’m gonna have to switch no doubt and purchase one amazing controller like this one
This video was brilliant. Self taught, analog background in TTs with a dabble in scratching. Been wanting something that is the perfect hybrid of TT feel with compact digital convenience with good Xfade adjustability that's actually easy to use. Went to Traktor but it never really clicked with me on my 1210s Really appreciated in the video how to use each bit of functionality, I've been out of the game and missedhow quickly it come on. This appears to be the perfect product for me and building on my background which seems to have no flaws I would ever care about. Thank you.
Anytime at all, glad you enjoyed the video!
I can see the excitement in your face. Hopefully a future buy for me. Gotta start saving. 👍😎
We have all been waiting for these
Thanks so much for this review dude! I ordered mine today after lots of deliberation as I've been Pioneer forever but this review just seals it for me!
Hows it so far?
@@DJNaturaultoneI’m in love with it and every DJ I know that has one feels the same. It does need TLC now again in regards to keeping pads clean and dust free to maintain that optimal function but aslong as it’s looked after it will perform!
@@djdfrancis4040 thank you. Just ordered one
Looking forward to a 4-deck version 🙌🏾. Hope it's in the works !
Yes 4 decks!!!
Thank goodness I stalled on purchasing the Traktor S4 Mk3, now this will be coming to papa real soon! Thanks for the review!
I have a similar dilema. This looks lush, but it's twice the price.
good call. I'll be shocked if NI's traktor division will even be around in a year.
i love it they thought of everything.good job!
Damn Rane came out swinging in 2021!!!
I'm stoked about this glad to see everything I liked from the ns7 combined with the beat features of Rane.
Great review. This as a standalone who can also read Rekordbox USB sticks (as Pioneer CDJs are the standard in every club here) would be my dream controller.
Great work Bro!
Excellent Review of the RANE ONE!
A Controladora mais linda que já vi!!! A RANE ONE a melhor!!!
Agree fully with @Sick James . Such a great go over of all of the features... I'm just waiting for mine at the moment... Ahh cannot wait.
Awesome unit. Love it and love the review 👍👍🙂
Glad you like it, thanks!
Gr8 review crossvader, I'm looking to upgrade and maybe this is the controller for me thanks.
The force is strong with crossvader☄💫
Ok, I want this!!!!! It's love at the first sight!
Same here
Great work!!!!!
Yes I agree with you totally. I just purchased the ring one a couple days it go and I'm already in love with it. I'm DJ E-40 smooth groove entertainment
Ahhhhh!!! Looks amazing!
Just ordered one and can't wait to get it. I have a ddj 1000 but I want to go back to serato and I want to try moving platters.
Love at first sight 😍
My dream product🔥❤️
I just bought this unit and all I can say is WOW! I have always been sceptical about digital DJing being from a vinyl background, but this really was worth it. Originally I was looking at the Rain 12 decks and while I thinkj that they're awesome, the overly complicated mixer really put me off. The Rane One allows me to connect my decks as well so all I can say is that a lot of thought went into designing this. I still don't know how half the shit works but am working on that ;-). Excellent review!
So you can hook your regular turntables to it and use all the effects and everything with your original vinyl
@@chachi2481 did you find out can it ?
Everything I've been waiting for in a portable controller!!!!!
it worked! thank you so much!!
i love it, i'm sold
Wow what a beauty of DJ Hardware!
Really hope you can buy spare Rane One platters like you could with the nsx, because I'll be replacing my SC5000m platters with the Rane Ones. Love that SL1200 look
I've used the 12s slot and I was looking at getting some but I might just get these instead. It's a good price and well worth the money
Thanks for the review, really comprehensive. I've been hung up on upgrading to the Roland DJ 808 but resisted all through lockdown. I'm going to get mine on order tonight. 😎
i have the 808 and honestly I would not switch to this one
Thanks for the review. I learnt on the 1200’s and moved to controllers as I was not mixing as much, while that was fun I’ve been waiting for this exact thing so glad they have released it.
Holy SGIT! This is next level! So glad I waited for next gen hardware and didnt get the ddj800!
Hey hey hey. I now have both. The ddj 800 will still be in my arsenal
I had turntables when i was 18 45 now!) been using the sb3 these last 12 months and really enjoying it, still getting through using effects etc, but i want to get the feel back of using vinyl and the action of mixing it without splashing out on turntables and vinyl and these look ideal. Im guess it's not essential you need to be a scratch dj to decide to go for these, i would use them mostly for beat matching by ear etc.
I am Techno DJ using Traktor and Rekordbox for years AND I want this unit!
That was great. Thank you.
Will order one this year
For $1500, Pitch n Time/DJPro features should've been included! Hardware FX and a 4 channel would be dope. Or, a 72 middle screen & features.
What's the warranty? Brushless motors?
@crossfader hey thanks for the review. This looks like the one. I’m a intermediate DJ. Haven’t had my hands on anything in a few years and am looking for the best feel. Thing is, I DJ for my own hobby now and really would like a 4 channel mixer as I like to blend a more complex mix. I’ve owned a ddj sx and loved it but personally it just didn’t have the feel of the vinyl I’m looking for I know it comes down to finess and have seen some friends like my boy @candlestickem do some amazing things as far as scratching with jogwheels but for me I think the resistance and jog wheel size will satisfy my craving. What do you think? Rane 1 or a 4 channel mixer
yo bro, really thankya. Big respect
Just brought one and I'm ready to break it in!
Wow! I recently purchased the Pioneer xdj-rx2, and now I need to sell it because I want that Rane.
This looks nice. I bought a ddj 1000 four months ago. I wish I would have known about this one.
👌everything the market needs
Really debating now if getting the MKII with my xdj-xz is a good thing lol 🤔 might just have two setups! Thanks!
Can’t wait to get it. Just wish it had screens on it
Mr. Hartley first off superb review. Next just for me and others could you do a side by side with the RANE ONE and the NS7. Also, I had started saving towards a DDJ 1000 or SRT and the ONE appears in 2021... I do enjoy scratching and also enjoy the 4 channels of my SX2. From your review of the 1000/SRT that seems to be club dj style more than turntablists style, although it was reviewed by many as one of the best scratch decks around. The cost is to close to really cry over. How do you compare the ability to scratch between the 1000/SRT and the ONE?
I'm getting one I love this
I started on software & controllers.
I currently use a Numark NV.
To improve my scratching & juggling, I think a motorized platter would help.
Should I get this, go for a traditional dvs setup, or straight up learn on some vinyl?
Man, I hope this inspires some competition from the other brands to give us some great products! RANE did very well with this controller, shame it already sold out lol
And now we have the pioneer Rev 7 Rane ones Competition Is Here Lol
I'm like right there about to buy one of these. I just have two issues: 1) I really wish it had 10" platters, and 2) I wish the mixer section was a bit wider. It looks really cramped. Like Jaime said, "built to last a lifetime". I'd be super ticked at spending $1400 for this unit only for Rane to come out with a One.2 with 10" platters a year later.
It looks really nice - maybe it's finally time to upgrade my SB2 Serato controller 😬
Yes me too :)
I just bought a push 2 last week...whhhhyyyyyyy 😭😭. I want this! Great review as always. I’m a rekordbox dj but I’d learn serato for this
Trust me there’s no need to chase the latest and greatest equipment. You’re basically paying for look/build quality and effects. In 2021 pretty much every dj controller can do the exact same things.
I feel your pain, I just bought a DDJSX3 in November 2020 at full price. If I had known about this I would have waited
@@Smiley869 true but I have a ddj 800 and I’m still using composite jog wheels. I guess that’s why this is intriguing to me
@@keithlee4963 gotcha, that’s understandable 👍
@Keith Lee Push2 is a totally different product and I would never wanna switch it with a DJ controller as using ableton squeezes much more creativity out of my head than any dj software can do currently. but if i could have both worlds, I'd go for that masterpiece controller too.
I, as a 58-year-old man, would really love to learn. I have A DDJ1000 but cannot do much except use it as a music player. I cannot afford your courses at this time and missed out on your 50% discount over the holidays. Hopefully, you can offer that special again someday soon. Love your videos.
I have the ns7 ii. Time to upgrade. Hope is not as heavy as the ns7. Tanx for the review.
The Rane ONE comes in at 10kg
Thanks for the review. Another reviewer mentioned a persistent noise coming from the platters a their spinning. Did you or anyone in your office notice this during their time with the unit?
Just brought it today, yes baby
good review... im still thinking about the pioneer str1000
FINALLYYYYY. toooo dope
I want this...tnx Jamie
Love it. I own the NS7 3, so its something i would buy. either that or a rane 12 set up, i do miss 12" platters x
Don't get the Rane 12s, unless you only dj at home. I have 2 setups both are 2 heavy to move. 2 Rane 12 with mixar duo and NS7III.
I LIKE the Rane 12s but 1200s plus phase gave me the same feeling as the Ranes. Get this if you're mobile.
@@djwendellquickonthemixnewk257 1200s and Phase are NOT more portable than Twelves. Twelves are lighter by about 5lbs and the MKII Twelve pretty much has what Phase offers built in to the actual unit, so no charging remotes every gig. Just sayin...
Looks amazing.. Old skool vinyl dj's can now have the same experience as playing pure vinyl but with MP3's.
@CHARLES 13X 😂🤣
@CHARLES 13X ns7 ns7ii ns7iii V7 and the Denon series 🤷🏽♂️
@They Caged Non true but I think its the spinning platter thats making the buzz with this controller.
Sorry nothing new about this price is to high also for me.
iMusic, who owns Numark and Rane just combine technology from both Numark NS7III and Rane controllers. I do like the portability.
Excellent review Jamie! This will blow away Pioneer especially the price. The only thing I don't like is no labels for performance pads. It is hard to remember all modes? I have been stuck for years trying to get moving platters at a decent price, I think this is it.Oh, would a little monitor like rane 72 improve it?
There are labels above the pad mode buttons :)
I really love it. Would you take this over DDJ-1000, if you´re not at battle or scratch dj?
wow!! Lets see!!
I'd love to see a 10" platter version of this.
Awesome!! Numark NS7 replacement!😎
If you plug a CDJ in can you use that as a 3rd Deck, so essentially Deck 1's Upfader and EQ's control the sound of the CDJ WHILE STILL HAVING a Tune playing on Deck 1? Kind of like how you can do with 'Layers' on the SB3 ect so you can blend 3 tracks ect?
Also if you have a tune playing on Deck 1 and you load a sample/tune in from Scratchbank on Deck 1 does the original Tune on Deck 1 continue to play, so you can laying your Sample over what is already playing on Deck 1?
Trying to figure out how gimped it is only having 2 Decks out the box, man i hate buyers remorse so so bad lol :)
How's the pitch drift? I have an NS7. But, It's difficult to do a long mix with the motorized platters active as they drift so much.
Nice!!!!
I was kind of worried about the 7 inch as well, but I'm about to get this
It looks amazing..
It is!
I just got the Rane one and I’m loving it but someone in the comments has a point. What’s the solution for the no volume knob for samples?
Wow...... That Song sampler thing that snaps tracks into decks instantly.... Siiiiccckkk for quick performance sets redbull 3 style
Ever since the Numark NS7iii was discontinued I've been waiting for a controller like this. Fingers crossed that Rane releases one that supports 4 decks!
Why did they discontinue The NS7lll?
@@jazzimilah66 both Rane and Numark are owned by
inMusic , it's a bit fishy that the ns7 was discontinued , and the Rane one has arrived this year . lol .
Nothing fishy, just doesn't make business sense to have two similar products in the same category. The Rane One is more focused for the turntablist market with paddle effects and the Rane build quality so will sell better no doubt.
I just love my NS7III, just wish it had Rane jog wheels, I already upgrated crossfader.
THANKS FOR THE INFORNATION
Looks really nice, I wish the platters were 10 or 12 inch
10 inch would be a dream
@@johnangulo1761 That's what she said 🤣🤣
Might as well get a set of twelves, this is for portability imo
@@amexemoor443 that's exactly what it is, not just your opinion. It's awesome!
What do you think the Rane One or the 12’s and a 72
Is it possible to do MIDI mapping of eight free pads Saved Loop (orange)?
I tried to do this, but I delete other functions (hot cue, sampler etc.)
I believe I can offer a different perspective being that I repair DJ & Pro Audio gear. I know there's been no shortage of NS7II comparisons & based off their reputation alone, one would assume that the Rane One's build quality trumps that of Numark eventhough they're both under the InMusic umbrella. I've worked on at least a dozen NS7IIs over the years & only recently did I have the opportunity to repair a Rane One with a faulty motor assembly...same issue that many SC6000M owners are experiencing.
Now that I've had the chance to look at the One's guts and components I can honestly say with confidence that the NS7II is of better quality... by far. Actually it's not even close.
NS7II has superior potentiometers, capacitors, mosfets, transistors, diodes etc. down to the soldering.
Even the performance pads. The pads on the NS7II are of the same pads you'd find on old school MPC consoles. The pads on The One are comparable to pads found on modern day entry level Akai midi controllers. Matter of fact, the only thing that's indisputably better on The One is the crossfader.
It just goes to show how people are quick to pass judgment based on perception & past reputations. This is not the same Rane that people have come to know them by.
Define "built like a tank". What are you basing that off of? It's weight? Because the same can be said about the NS7II. I would say it's just Numark with better "clothing" but from what I've seen, it's inferior to 2000's Numark. Parts don't lie.
thanks for your experienced comment. So refreshing to hear some trade honesty 🙏
when they make a 4 channel, put the tension adjust on the outside, put effects and eq on the mic line and keep the Bluetooth line and make it native map with djay pro a,i even though im a Serato user, I will buy one
Omg I love this
Hi Jamie, i can't find the Sample Rate / Frequency specs on the Rane website? Do you know? Thanks bud
Please help me decide which controller to go with! I've used Denon 5000s standalone for 4 years now and been wanting to add a controller/laptop combo. Feel like I might miss the 4 channels though... (but I scratch a lot too).
The design is insane 🤩. If denon could make their stuffs as pretty they would sooo be ahead
Rane and denon are owned by the same company (inmusic), as is numark
Is it possible to highlight a loop and scroll forward to let the next count play before scrolling back to what was originally looped?
Nice, waiting for Rane TWO with dual effects independently for each channel, mic echo, sampler fader volume
