Ani, still making us think after all these years.
The acoustics on this performance are nuts. Who knew books could provide such auditory beauty?! This song is useful now (2020). Thanks Ani.
100%. And still useful here, end of June 2022. What she writes is generationally, spiritually, and empirically relevant; always.
Ron and fez 2020
Always loved how hard this song hits me ❤ sending Love to all Americans

Ron & Fez noon to three
I miss Ron and Fez
Thank you Ani for putting harsh truths to such beautiful music. I too am wondering, "What will it take for my country to rise"?
I too wonder. What will it take?? This pandemic hasn't stemmed to open ppls eyes to see that all we have is each other on this beautiful planet that corporate interests/ practices are destroying...i too wonder.
Her lyrics and her guitar playing are astounding.! I just think it's absurd and bizarre and kind of more than sad, that we don't get her truth, and get behind her. It takes much bravery and courage of spirit to do what she does.. and you can see clearly that she is in it for the message..not the fame. I think she is in her prime.. in terms of writing what is real for her. That is a gift. Long may it continue. Ani Difranco- I sincerely thank you for all you have given.
(Cont.) the environment. I don't believe her songs can be "defined " easily at all. Because she speaks on behalf or Human-nature, at this time, at most definitely doesn't disclude herself in our weakness's. She Questions them and her questions are always thought provoking, relevant and come from the heart. I believe that there are two very distinct reasons why Ani DiFranco is not more widely known, One being that she isn't afraid to tell the truth about the human race, and it's failings. And two, because she's a woman.
The funkiest 3/4 time ever!
When she performs this song in Philly, she has to change it to Hoagiedivision.
I am so finally and gratefully amazed that Paste and other outlets are promoting Ani Difrannco's incredible work. I am from New Zealand and have closely followed her musical career - but of recent times it seems to me she is more and more powerful ,if that is possible - As an extremely strong voice for minority members of society and for the environment, and gene
Best song! Thanks so much Ani for all you've written!
love u ani
Thank you so very much for making these videos.Everything you do leads us on,
Big A.S.S. Card Holder 10542 checkin' in.

love this song, live Ani.
This song has never been more relevant than now.
Correct. Yall gotta do something about your violent crime rates so the white peoples will stop being so scared of yall
"Alright now you get this. Sorry you had to hear that, Earl."
god i miss Ron and Fez
As a piece of music this is great. As a factual commentary on society it is as true or as untrue as the opinions of the individual listening but if I dismissed songs based on lyrics and politics I probably would have to scratch some of my favourite songs off of my favourite songs list.
Rip Earl.
It's quite impressive how this song has only become more relevant.
Saddening, actually.
sattelite's gone, way up to mars
❤️
🌸♥️
Take the stick Fez.
is this the lady singer that tells the truth?
Yes.
Ron and Fez noon to three
Damn, I thought Ani was covering Rush.
She wishes.
@@annjellobrewno4768 Yeah, she doesn't care about Rush. Then again, she probably has no hostility toward them either way.
Are there tabs anywhere for this specific version of the song?
866 Ron Zero Fez … 866 Ron Zero Fez
This isn't the Subdivision(s) I was expecting haha #rush
But did you like it? ;) Also, Ani is from Buffalo, haha (profile pic).
I feel cool because I have those pants. lol
Who knew ,??
... to prove they've got no manners, no mercy and no sense. Ouch. But so true.
I send lots of people your way. My friends in New Zealand are AMAZED! But I've been fucking talking about you for 2 decades or just over.
She needs to write another song about gentrification of cities and pushing the poor out to failing suburbs.
It's funny. Time has passed so quickly that I would have said Subdivision was a relatively new song. #FeelingOld
This is terrible. Ron & Fez noon to 3.
Ron&Fez brought me here. The song is fuckin awful
the first line is incredibly dumb but the rest of the lyrics are great
Dumb? Learn about the amygdala and then call it dumb. It's one of the best opening lines for any song.
I think your comment is incredibly dumb. It’s a simple truth and it caught your attention didn’t it. Look up “white flight” it’s essentially what the song is about.
It may be uncomfortable for you, but it is not dumb
@@dustin7980 Well I'm white and I'm not afraid of black people. Way to generalize an entire group of people
@@ThatSuzanneSchmid It's so nice we can come together and have a conversation. So tell me Suzanne - what gave you the idea that it makes me uncomfortable? Surely you're not stereotyping an entire group of people (white people) and saying they're all afraid of black people, right?
I thought Ani was covering Rush. But seriously, I think Ani sows her own brand of disunity with this song. I love this artist, but not this song.
This song captures the truth of what happened in many US cities. Not admitting the truth of what has happened in this country will not help to build unity and trust. Truth and honesty build trust.
