That charging connector idea is genius. My roomba 960 has on multiple occasions woken me up in the middle of the night, most recently at 1:00 AM to the infamous “PLEASE CHARGE ROOMBA” error message even though it had been on the charger already. I’d love to see robot vacuums come with a manual power button.
As always great video.
I've heard that Europe models of this auto empty bin are supposed to be hybrid design where you can go bagless or with bag but there wasn't mentions of it in video. Did you not heard about this or did it miss you because of living in US? Do you prefer bagless or bagged designs?
Been waiting for this!
I am impressed how clean the bin was
I've had the S7 for about 6 months now and I know that the auto empty bin would increase overall required maintenance in my household. If you've got long hairs laying around you'll need to remove the sweeping brush atleast once a month, you'd also have to remove and clean out the main brush quite often.
With the auto emptier you'd also need to buy the specific dust collector bag, you'd need to maintain the bin itself.
Another negative is that it's not very pretty to look at. Without the bin you can fit your docking station under some kind of furniture (in my case our bed) and you'd never be able to tell there was an S7 in the house except for when it runs. Sure you might be able to hide the bin but you would have to hide it somewhere it's easily accessible.
I put Megadeath and black Sabbath sticker on my vac and dock so it matches my decor better. You can decorate yours too!
I think I'm being persuaded to upgrade my S4. I've loved my Roborock, it cleans brilliantly and the navigation is superb.
I based my last purchase of a robot vacuum on your recommendations. It was a Neato D7 back when it came out. Maybe its time for a replacement! Your reviews are always great and in depth. Thanks for your hard work man!
Thanks so much! Yeah, a lot has happened since then!
@@VacuumWars I wish Neato would update the release of the D9 and D10 models. My D7 finally gave out after almost 3 years of near daily use. I’m researching heavily on its replacement but really wanting to wait until the D10 releases, but the RoboS7 is up there.
@@markzambardino7618 I’m in the exact same position as you, except my D7 is still working (apart from the side-brush motor which is dead after a number of belt drive exchanges), but unfortunately the D10 (and D8, D9) looks nothing more than a superficial update to the previous line, so Neato seems a lost cause, left in the dust. I definitely want to update to something with a mopping attachment, just wish there was one with a mopping base too, for truly independent cleaning. And I would prefer a brand that’s more privacy concerned so perhaps less Chinese. ;-)
@@Lill-Q I'm with you. I wish there were more American made products
@@Lill-Q an auto empty base for the D10 would be a welcomed change but not a deciding factor on the purchase. I’m hoping the delay is for more than just better battery life. I was very pleased with the d7s cleaning and mapping capabilities. Rarely got lost or stuck on furniture and emptying the bin became part of daily routine. I’ve emailed the Vice President of the company in hopes of a reply regarding release dates. If he does, I’ll post his response here.
Love these reviews! Been looking at getting a new robot vacuum with a self emptying bin, Any chance you’ll also be looking at the Ecovacs Deebot t9+? Thanks!
1:25 Another things that i missed. i tot they simply gave extra bin... the original bin does not have that tiny door. so yea, im now using the right bin. Thank You again.
Amazing! How would you stack the whole package against the ecovacs deebot t8 aivi?
1:32 is the things that i did not do. Been using it for 2 months without removing that parts... thanks for the video.
Excellent video! Thanks! This set up is top of my list to replace my roomba 631. It's served me well.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy it.
I like that you kept the video short and not filling it with useless information
Thanks.
Beautiful design! In other areas, the bin is actually Bagless, using cyclones. And European countries are lucky, because they have a hybrid, using bags and Bagless. Also, I believe the suction increases based on the setting you choose.
Does it mean we (Europeans) will have a bagless version of the station?
@@thisfeatureisbad correct. Better, you guys get both bags and a Bagless system! Best of both worlds!
@@MrBlueCreeper Awesome! I was wondering why it uses a bag, I hate bags - they're so wasteful and yesterday's tech. I wonder why the US version has a bag? Are there some regulatory issues?
@@MrBlueCreeper I would argue that there is no "best of both worlds" because there is literally no advantage to having bags. They're wasteful and they're an ongoing expense. A proper bagless system is always better than any bagged system. Bags are outdated, inefficient technology and need to be retired from all vacuums.
@@mjc0961 I agree. I wish the US had the bagless system. Why did Roborock make the Self-Emptying bin bags only I don't know, but it is holding many people back from getting the Roborock Auto-Empty Dock. The Bagless system is way better for the environment, not having to keep purchasing new bags makes consumer's experience much better, and the bagless system Roborock developed uses a Cyclone system with 15 cyclones, meaning the Bagless system will perform much better! However, some people have allergy issues and might prefer a bag, so that's why I wished the US had the best of both worlds. I would use the bags provided so that the air is clean, and then when I run out of the bags, I would use the Bagless system on the Auto-Empty Dock so that I can keep liberating my hands for 6 weeks. I have hopes that the US will get the Bagless system. The canister is removable, so maybe Roborock or third-party retailers will offer the bagless cyclonic system for the Auto-Empty Dock in the future. The H7 has the best of both worlds in the US, so I would highly assume there will be a Bagless option for the Auto-Empty Dock coming soon to the US.
Already bought the dock a week ago. It's been good, a great addition to the S7, I think.
good to hear that you are happy with it.
@@VacuumWars Will you do a review of the Shark WS632 in the near future?
How do you like it? We have 2700 sq ft carpet, tile and vinyl. One Persian cat and 1 girl. Concerned about pet hair and ability to clean carpets. Any issues with emptying the dirt bin or hair breaking or getting stuck on rollers etc? How is the maintenance? Does it auto detect when the on-board bin is full and go back to the base for a clean or does it keep cleaning but doing a poor job because the bin is full? Does the robot detect when the outside waste bin bag is full?
I’ve been watching your videos trying to see if you have any definite recommendation for best vacuum for those with allergies and pets and have mostly (medium pile) carpet. I don’t like the new apex or vertex rollers or powered lift aways because they create more resistance when pulling backwards. I also like the swivel head but hate how narrow it is on the shark. I don’t mind weight of a vacuum as long as it’s easy to push and pull on carpet. Is Kirby the way to go if you want something awesome on carpet and don’t need anything for hard floors?
Dose the new design clean base pull hair off from around the brush roll
For me, the biggest con is the bags. I want a bag less design.
You need to make a box with a cutout and stick a huge filter on the other side. I recommend a HEPA straight away. The bin gets a bit cloudy when using the bags as every bag jas the leaks.
in some region roborock provides bagless dust bins
@@thisfeatureisbad you have to not to be idiot when doing this. I have seen few of theese shitty ideas and it ended up destroying the suction motor.
I find bags to be superior when I switched from a shark auto empty to an s9. The bags keep the dust in one location and the entire base is cleaner after a few months.
@@Zardif Bags are wasteful though
With some saudering and programming do you think plumbing the dust into the central vac is achievable?
Can you test the seal on the robot and dock? A test similar to the vacuum seal (where you vacuumed the ultraviolet powder to measure it in the air) would probably be a good start.
I have an older Shark and it smells when it hits the dock, which tells me the seal isn’t great.
Will it go through dinning chairs that are under table? And will it transfer tile to carpet ?
Great Review! Really been looking at getting a S7 but was waiting till the auto empty bin was available
We are selling Dust Bag for Roborock S7 / S7+ Vacuum Cleaner Auto-Empty Dock on Amazon, which are exactly the same as the original ones. If you need it, you can contact me and I can send it to you for free.
I have a roborock s5max and love it. It would be awesome if the new bin could refill the water tank too, I have to do that everyday which is a hassle
Wich one was the best vac and mop with lift pad capability?
I appreciate your reviews, and it would help even more if you also tracked whether the robot empties when full vs after the run. The Roomba is the only model I’ve run into that does this and it’s a huge difference for me. I like the S7 better for its mopping and mapping, but the bin is full halfway through a run and it just leaves dirt behind after that.
I think Roomba has a patent on the dustbin detection and the others are screwed until they figure a way around it.
Is it suck the hair like normal vacum do or its just gathered in the brush ?
I am in first week of S7 ownership and think I'd like the auto empty but does it get the filter reasonably clean too? My filters seem to get a clay-ish dust on them (I think) since we live adjacent to farm fields. If I have to mess with the filter each time then no reason to pay extra for auto empty.
Excellent, as always, TY! Also, will you be testing the Shark AI VACMOP™, Robot Vacuum and Mop with Self-Cleaning Brushroll, AI Advanced Navigation (RV2001WD)?
Have been waiting for this review! Nice, let's see what you think about it!
Cool! Thanks for watching!
Please do a comparison video of Roborock S7+ and iRobot J7+. Looking to update my home vacuum from Neato D7 and assume I'll end up with one of these.
It's here!
This looks so cool thanks for sharing👌👌
Thanks for watching!
@@VacuumWars always 👌👌
just got one but the bin wont empty. i followed all the instructions and removed the air flow cap inside. i don't know whats wrong. it makes the noise like it is emptying but the thing stays full inside the robot. nothing has come out
Does the auto empty mode reduce the dust stuck in the vacuum's filter? That would effect the performance of the vacuum.
İ don't believe it can clean filter itself. I use Dyson DC32 to clean the filter and even it is not %100 successful :)
It does clean the filter somewhat, but not completely. I've had it for a couple weeks now.

Neat! Thanks! :)
Glad you like it!
If we want the european bagless dock, can we still buy it? Or will it not be compatible with the power sockets here in the U.S.?
Where did you get the air flow meter from that you use I like to get one
Are roborock vacuums affected by iRobot virtual wall units? Thanks for your great reviews!
Isn't the bin of the s7 much smaller than that of the s6? I have five cats, and the s6 bin is full after one run if I run the robot once every two days. I try to run it once daily. Also I have long hair so the anti hair tangle is important for me. I'd love the auto empty bin and s7 but not sure if it's going to work in my house.
Are the bags reusable or do you have to buy a ton of bags for it?
how much a tank refill last? is it enough for a 200ft2 room?
We’re the hell can you buy the Robodock separately in Canada? Can’t find it at all.
Any chance you’ll be reviewing the Narwhal? I’m totally not there yet but I’m interested in your thoughts
I have got the S7 station and tested it with an Q7max. It doesn't work. The dirt is still in the robot. Another user says it should work. Do you know?
Is it worth it for people who have long hair, or does it require too much manual detangling for the automation to be useful?
I actually like the black dock station & white robot combination
Anybody know if this dock will work with a Q7 MAX?
I have deep pile rugs. I would like to know how these work on those. My Roomba doesn’t go onto these rugs.
Do you have plans on reviewing the narwal robot cleaner?
Can you tell how to add room in app my is not add
I was trying
Does the S5 max also have an auto empty dock?
Would you be able to review the Spanish brand Cecotec? They seem to have amazing robot vaccuums.
Will you be reviewing and/or comparing with the Dreametech W10?
Bought the S7 on this canels recomendation, bern wating for this auto empty dock since.

Nice rug. Where did you buy it from?
Would you do a review for roborock s7 vs Narwal t10? Thanks
I have a Husky and a an i7 plus and I am pretty impressed. Not had clogs but we send it out every day
Good call!
With an auto empty robot vacuum it's crazy that you wouldn't have it vacuum every day. Who only runs it twice a week?
@@jnpl95 I run my mop twice a week and my vacuum every day.
Does this s7 roborock require a monthly subscription or membership in order to run? Is the app downloaded for free?
Black dock and white vacuum? Interesting fashion choice! Glad it wasn't intentional....
Hey, after your review I bought deboot Osmo, it’s a goood one but he get stuck a lot with cables, socks etc :)) so I have to upgrade to make it useful. Could you recommend me new one with camera?? Thanks
Please tell me your already going to test the new Samsung AI robot with self empty! We're looking at is for a future upgrade, and it seems more promising than others. It also seems like it might be a subtle jab at Dyson to an extent!
It's on backorder right now!
My Jet Bot AI+ and Jet Bot + review is out now - czcams.com/video/YQEL-xLJLfY/video.html
Serious question. New house. No carpet. A few area rugs...... 5 dogs and 5 cats all using pet doors outside. What is the best robovac money can buy for pet hair and avoid the occasional dog poop? Preferably with a self emptying container, but thats not a requirement. And what is your affiliate link to it.
Also yes we plan to run it daily and multiple times in the entrance ways
Can you please do an Electrolux Epic 2500 or 3500 series test?
Should have covered topic of bag vs bagless, and it originally looked like it was going to support both which would have been game changer, but oddly it only works with bags currently. (I tried to empty without bag, definitely doesn't work lol) My Shark had bagless which was awesome, I used that one in the garage. Inside house I used bagged and still works fine, thankfully buying bags on Amazon are cheap and last a long time. A hybrid version would be awesome.
In other countries the bin is both bagged and Bagless.
Here in Malaysia, Roborock gave both the bag & Bagless in one package. I never use the bag part.

in Europe it work with and without. One of the biggest benefits for me. No need to buy stupid bags.
bags are a must for those who have allergies, but an option for both would be ideal.
Could you please review Roborock S5 MAX vs Roborock S6 MAXV?
I would be scared if I was dust in your home.
thank you 🙏🏼 i have been researching this model w the self empty dock and I wanted to make sure that for the price I was getting my moneys worth and it seems like that will be the case
Did you buy it?

@@eyerule6153 You check out the Shark ai robot vacuum? It's $450 self emptying too.
How are your summer temperatures chris?
What about the water tank? they should have included a way to refill it as well, kinda defeats the purpose of full automation when you still have to manually refill it every 2 or 3 days
Yep and an alert/display to empty the bin.
I would expect the bin is bagless though :( I need a vacuum and mop, 2in1..wondering if there will be a video on this topic in 2021 :)
Do you really need the docking station or could you get by fine without one if you are home everyday?
I think it is just a matter of preference!
I just got the S5MAX best investment. Roborock is a great brand for robo vacuums. I like manually emptying bun because I also like giving the robot a wipe down. I have a small apartment but this emptying bin would be good for large homes.
Good to hear!
Single port auto-empty designs (i7) are wildly superior to dual port versions (Deebot), especially for pet hair.
But the brushroll method works even better! The old bins would’ve work, if they engineered it correctly.
I'm waiting from you a review with 360 S10 vacuum cleaner.
Did they solve the problem the side brush gets tangled in long hair carpets? Why no one tests it???
Glad roborock finally has an auto empty bin, but I’m disappointed there’s no way I can use my s6 max v
What about the newer roborocks? Like the s9?
Good to see that it works this well; but ive got two todlers, and that means chunks of soggy food getting sucked up every day and being mopped after. Not sure if I like the idea of accumulating chunks of wet food for days on end; and I need to do the daily mop cleaning anyway. Was secretly hoping they found a magic way of automating the mop side of things too; but until then its not for me I suppose.
When that automation happens, I will be glad too.
Hey there! Love your well-reasoned and executed videos! Does the doc work with ANY OTHER roborock models? If not, have you heard of any more affordable roborock models coming out? Perhaps without the mop?
Thanks! so not that I know of. It really is a new design for them. I don't have an inside scoop at roborock, so I don't know what is next. Thanks for asking, and I appreciate your confidence.
Wow, very cool! But........until the two collecting bins can then go outside and empty themselves in the trash, I'm sticking with my iRobot!!🤣
I’m missing noise test. Can we please test and compare that?
At last it would be nice to know, if the base motor noise is louder than the vacuum itself and for how long does it usually run?
is it good with hair (long hair)
Been waiting for this review. Would you go for the S7 over the iRobot i7 or S9?
I vote LIDAR over VSLAM any day of week :)
I'm finishing up a comparison of the S7 and s9 for tomorrow!
keep up the great work, but can you use robot vacuums on marble floors?
When in doubt - check with the floor manufacturer.
what is the noise level empty?
HI in some market the roborock auto empty dock is available i am told as bag less. Can this work without the bag? Otherwise is a step backwards back to bag vacuum cleaners

I've got two German Shepherds, and 3 cats. Use my S5 daily and it barely can keep up with them. :P Send that S7 and the bin to me, I'll stress test it. :D
Excellent review! Do you know where the Roborock S7+ ( S7 with Auto Empty Dock) can be purchased for UK/EU customers? I can't find it anywhere! I've been holding out on purchasing a robo vac and I feel this is the one I need but I just can't find anywhere to purchase it from.
Not that I know of.
Can you review the dirt devil power express
Which one would you have chosen between S5 Max or S6maxV? If i got it right they are kinda the same machines just the camera in the S6maxV that is the differens?
The S6maxV has a much stronger processor, which makes it more efficient. Take a look at this video here - czcams.com/video/U2xpwdZh0KQ/video.html
@@VacuumWars thanks! But what i can see, it seems like the s5 Max is stronger? :O the link is for s6?
Great job guys.
So, since this replaced your Deebot, is this your new recommended best robot vacuum?
I should have a "Best if 2021" robot vacuum video out in the coming weeks. I still have to do the full comparison. I'll know for sure then!

Got my hands on the EU bagless version. I must say very impressed, I get a full compressed bin of hair each day and it has not clogged up once so far and its been great not hearing it start and panic thinking have I emptied it today? How are the S7's mopping abbilities compare to Braava jet M6?
My dilema is
iRobot 9 + Braava M6 Roborock S7
what would be better?
Imho the S7 Is overall better than a iRobot 9 + Braava M6. Simply because the level of cleaning of automated mopping can only reach so far nowadays.
