    In this episode: the MSBS - a modular Polish assault rifle design capable of filling a wide range of roles.
    The MSBS's damage is the highest within the assault rifle class, and is the only such weapon capable of killing with two shots to the body at a close range.
    One burst kills are the norm out to a middle range, where damage quickly drops to a much less appealing 5 shot kill, for a minimum of two bursts.
    As a burst fire weapon, your overall sustained rate of fire will be lower than that of an automatic: your maximum possible output equates to around 450 rounds per minute.
    Within the burst, cyclic rate is very high, however: close to 900 rounds per minute.
    Paired with the high damage up close, hipfire can sometime prove very effective as a last-ditch defence.
    However, it is worth noting that the MSBS's hipfire spread is slightly worse than a typical assault rifle - so you may want to equip steady aim, or ensure you're at a point blank range before firing.
    Recoil is quite high, deflecting rapidly upwards: although the burst fire mode does much to ensure good fire control.
    Nevertheless, the latter portion of your burst may miss your intended mark at a distance, and as such you may often find you'll need multiple bursts to ensure a reliable kill.
    Aim time is standard for the assault rifle class, at 300 milliseconds: and movement speed is standard too, at 90 percent of the base speed.
    Magazine capacity is the usual 30 rounds for an assault rifle, or 45 with extended mags: given that the burst fire mode of the MSBS will help moderate your consumption, reloads are seldom a problem.
    In any case, resupplies are relatively quick - taking 2.63 seconds to complete.
    The MSBS is a deadly 3-shot burst weapon, capable of quenching your enemy's hopes faster than they can react.
    It deals the highest per-shot damage in its class, and is the only assault rifle capable of killing in two shots to the body by default.
    This lethal damage is meted out in a precise package, with the 3 rounds dispensed very quickly - and normally securing a kill.
    However, the moderately high recoil and damage drop may conspire to deny you a one-burst despatch, and it's here where the weapon suffers.
    A mandatory burst delay means your next burst isn't immediate, requiring a small pause and another pull of the trigger.
    During this time, an automatic weapon may have the chance to tackle you, knocking you off target or dealing lethal damage.
    Still, with careful aim you can minimise the number of bursts required - and for the accurate player the weapon will perform ably.

      Treyarch had em too dude. G11 in Black Ops, The M16 was apeshit if you knew how to land on the right hitbox. Black Ops 2 had the M8, that shit was diabolical chest or above.

      ***** there wasn't any patch to any weapon in the cod series that reduced damage if they did it wont change the 3,4 hit kill it will only reduce the range of said 3 or 4 hit kill

    If you haven't noticed yet all AR's with semi-auto are also a 2 hit kill but with sacrificed ROF. The honey badger with semi-auto is probably my favorite and it keeps up with marksman rifles.

    This weapon never deserved the nerf it got. Infinity Ward nerfed this weapon in the wrong way, and now it is one of the rarest weapons in the game.

    Ahoy was right to use this with deadeye. The 2 shot range on this gun is insane when combined with muzzle brake.
    First of all, a deadeye head shot kills anyone within the 27 meters before the damage drops off.
    You will be able to 2 shot anyone out to 32 meters automatically. If you get just one head shot/one dead eye shot to they body AND a regular body shot, you can kill at 40m. And if you're lucky enough to land 2 deadeye headshots, it will kill out to 57 meters.
    This gets even more exaggerated when you use semi auto which doesn't have a negative multiplier for limbs and has a 1.1 multiplier for the body as well.

      In ghosts, semi auto and burst had the effect of changing the damage multipliers of a gun. Often times it was the body multiplier which made the biggest difference. Usually they would both be 1.1x damage as opposed to 1.0x damage for full auto.
      Semi was a bit difficult to handle in game. I found it was best used as a sniper suppression class - but that niche was already filled by the DMR class which is why nobody bothered using it. Essentially you're using lots of points to build a higher capacity, lower damage DMR.
      This game has so many ways to change damage outcomes. Deadeye, burst multipliers, suppressor penalties, chrome lined multipliers, muzzle break/range, rapid fire, and AP rounds. That's why I think burst is still fairly viable. It changes your multipliers and can be use in conjunction with other perks and attachments to ensure the highest kill probability.

    My build on MSBS:
    My attachment preference is actually putting Full-Auto with its high damage it proves quite good as the fire rate goes up a lot and it reaps people into pieces.
    Second attachment I like to put it Thermal scope,because its a hybrid I use the Thermal main for scouting on long range and the Red/Holo sight for actual combat.
    For me it works fine because my play style with it is not run and gun its more move nice steady and deadly.
    For perks I like to get sprint buffs like Agility and Marathon in my main slots
    with few more personal upgrades.
    And I take Specialist and put Scav. so I don't run out of ammo other go into personal upgrades again.
    Option:
    Haven't tried this but I will as soon as I play again,the extra attachment on it to put Grip/Silencer one or the other depending on the game.
    Only game mode where I would use 3 round burst is Hard Core because I can sit back and get long ranged kills easier with thermal.
    Although all this costs a lot to have its a good class to invest in.Worked for me hope it works for who ever reads this comment as it is my favorite gun.

    I used the MSBS (after nerf) and I liked it. I used red dot sight, foregrip, and armor piercing (extra attachment). I know it wasn't the best class set up, but I went completely ham with it

    For sights I think the VMR is the best. I got the MSBS gold in about 12 hours of gameplay thanks largely to that sight. It was built for the weapon. Grip and VMR make that gun a juggernaut if you make sure to keep your engagements at medium to medium-long range. You'll have the entire team headhunting you after about 5 minutes but that's what I.E.D's and sentry gun streaks are for. :)

    Even nerfed this is a solid gun. F1st just posted a video recently post nerf with 70+ kills. It's crazy they nerf this but don't dare nerf the no skill sniper rifles. Sure they fixed the L11 glitch but the "no Quickscoping in COD Ghosts" was a blatant lie as was AI "emulating humans" when the AI don't even aim down the fucking sights. This game with a few tweaks could be amazing but I doubt Activision or Infinity Ward will make adjustments to make their pre-release statements true statements.

      Oh so true on the quickscoping part and the A.I i was quite excited for squad mode and seeing how well the A.I performs and of course they're still incompetent with godlike aim sometimes.

      The A.I. emulates humans quite well on Hardened and Veteran. I constantly get ADS'd from pretty far out, they corner camp and dropshot and jumpshot, it's like playing actual multiplayer.

    Great job, Stu.
    Unfortunately from IW, less than a great job after the nerf. I am a real bad player and was not able to improve much over the past 2 years playing COD.
    But with the MSBS before the nerf it was fun, I really enjoyed playing Ghosts. It was my go to class when i was way up in frustration to at least get a little fun out of the game.
    I understand all this with too much damage and nerfing the damage done to limbs. But, please why also take off range and increase the burst delay? It is all but ineffective and unmanagable now.
    I hope they would reduce the burst delay a little and make the gun viable again.
    Enough whining for now ;) Love your work!

    MSBS stands for Modularny System Broni Strzeleckiej (modular system of shooting weapon) this is a bullpup version, standard version looks like ACR.

    Dead shot has a percent based chance of dealing 40% more damage. With each kill up to 50% chance to deal bonus damage over a range of 4 kills. Once you reach 4 kills dead eye will have a 50% chance to deal extra damage.

    Someone forgot to mention the x0.8 multiplier to the limbs that makes the MSBS a 3 hit to 7 hit kill if the shots land there Also it's RPM is 432 not 450. The recent patch did all of this.

    Damage is less than 50 now with the nerf. You can still get a two shot kill with certain body multipliers now.

    You don't need deadeye because that helps you deal with more damage weapons but the msbs is actually the strongest gun besides the snipers and shotguns.

    How do you deal with weapon patches? It sometimes makes your weapon guides misleading after a few weeks/months

    The MSBS, and likewise all burst guns, have a few key problems that mandate they need some advantage to be competitive with other weapons. The MSBS's was damage, and they nerfed it. For example, the overall total RPM of the MSBS is around 400 when factoring in burst delay. The in-burst RoF and tiny TTK advantage over the automatics is heavily outweighed by the automatic's ability to reliably kill multiple people, or even an individual. With the MSBS it is most likely that the second will kill the wielder after the first one has gone down. The far more devastating fact is that if any bullet from the burst is missed, the TTK from the first burst to the last bullet is dramatically increased, and instead of a few milliseconds advantage it has a whole second disadvantage against the automatics. My proposed solution is simple, un-nerf the damage or reduce the burst-delay so it's not so devastating to miss a bullet or two.

      Parker Sasse He's just sad that his beloved Op gun was nerfed. Just read his last line "un-nerf the damage and reduce the burst delay... " so he basically wants it to be so overpowered that it makes the game unplayable to anyone who isn't using an MSBS. Good job bro, good job.

      Mr Panda Bro, I've never even use the MSBS, next time check yo-self before you wreck yo-self. Besides that, yes, tiny amounts of time in Call of Duty are important, but a 448 RPM (less now due to in-burst RoF nerf) and the recoil of this gun make missing, which happens quite often, far more painful and outweigh the negligible short-range thighs-chest-head-only 2 shot kill of 0.067 seconds vs its next competitor at 0.136 seconds. Come at me.

      Jaedrik Cobalt If you've never used the MSBS then why do you want it buffed up again? And besides, a 2 shot kill is a very powerful asset and needs to have something to balance it. The MSBS should be about accuracy and therefore skill, and this patch has done just that. Before, noobs could spray multiple bursts towards a target hoping to land the 2 shots required. But now, due to the delay and the lowered RoF, each burst has to be placed accurately. Which is how it should be. I guess that you have a different opinion, but for me this patch has improved the balance of gunplay in Ghosts. However, there are more important issues they should have addressed before the MSBS. It was annoying but certainly not game-braking.

      Mr Panda I don't even have Ghosts! :P But, my dearest internet friends are those that give the community, and indeed Xbox Ahoy and Symthic, their stats, Marvel4, Probaddie, etc. I feel with that I've proven my authority and reliability in the ways of CoD enough for me to make judgements on a CoD game that I don't have.
      Gunskill is an important and admirable thing, but the mere fact that it is a 2HK does not make it more powerful than the others. As I said in my original post, if one is to meet more than one enemy or miss any shots (for whatever reason, especially with the random recoil of CoD) he's as good as dead. At that point, gunskill becomes entirely irrelevant, and the deficiencies of the weapon become all the more apparent.
      Most skilled players would not choose a Marksman Rifle because of their horrid fire rate cap, they would choose the weapon with higher average RPM and accuracy (or control-ability), damage being important but secondary, because it's going to get them kills far more reliably. 'Twas why everyone used the ACR 6.8 in MW3, even when the Type-95 was "overpowered".
      To that effect, shotguns are also extremely useless due to their limitations, namely their inconsistency just as the MSBS has. Oh, it is sad indeed how they have descended from MW2 shotty status. It is also sad to see how the LMGs have descended from being somehow competitive. . . SMGs usually fared well, but in Ghosts? Ghosts is an Assault Rifle fest, and the reason is not that all Assault Rifles are good, but that Assault Rifles are far better than the other choices.
