    Superstar Hellen Obiri. Very humble, strong and unyielding. Very inspirational and role model to the young athletes. Well done daughter of the mythical land Kenya. But Gidey is super gifted. She is going to break so many records in the years to come. She runs like she is gliding off the surface.

    Every time there is a close race between Ethiopia and Kenya the announcers always speak highly of the Ehiopians of their resilliance but the Kenyans always wins or at least most of the time . Obiri is not new to running but all you hear them talk is how good Gidey is even when Obiri was increasing the pace and distance as if Gidey will pull a magical run to catch Obiri. they seem ignorant of Obiris last bust of endurance. When are these people going to stop underestimating Kenyan athletes? They keep doing it over and over again but still don't get enough credit.

      Kenyans always win? 😂 Go check who won the men’s race. Obiri is great but with all due respect Letesenbet Gidey is a more accomplished runner(10k, 5k, half marathon world record holder) who is just making her marathon debut.

      @Mroptimistiification Před 7 měsíci

      The fact remains the same Letesenbet accomplished more at just 25 years old vs Obiri at 33. With her running style, she is also more likely to break the marathon record.

    • @lordaries5498
      @lordaries5498 Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@Mroptimistiification well, we shall be here to celebrate her when she does that. But on this particular day, Obiri won fair and square. No need to diminish that. And furthermore, Gidey will always do well in time trials but in real races, I don't think she shines there.

    I’m really impressed with the 10,000 record holder, the Ethiopian Ghdey who in her debut to 42km Marathon she managed to “float “ the all time (obviously the women’s race was pedestrian by comparison to the men’s) but at the end she showed her ability to sprint, Helen Adori the Kenyan who never beat the Ethiopian in 10k , used all her body joints and her uncoordinated arms movements to win the race, only 6 seconds difference. So watch out for the Ethiopian if she decides to run only marathon in near future.

      Lol. First, her name is Hellen Obiri. Two time Olympic silver medalist. Four time world champion. The only woman to win world titles indoors, outdoors and the cross country. She has raced Gidey 16 times and won 11 times of those 16. And FYI, this was Gidey's second marathon and she's finished second in both. This is Obiri's third and she has won two. Please, you love Gidey, but don't trash Obiri in an attempt to uplift Gidey. Guess who won NYC Marathon 2023, her name is not Adori
