Agree. I went to his restaurant in ATL a few years ago and couldn't even eat because of the unsanitary conditions which I had to address with the staff. Never received any call from a manager as I requested. You can have a food review but don't be distasteful about it.
Businesses fail all the time; it’s part of business. Darius is still relevant and doing well and making millions as we speak. If the owner of Papis plays his cards well, hopefully he will be just as successful as Darius one day🤞
I like that even if he doesn’t like the restaurant he still recommends that you come and support and give it a try. I think that you should always try things yourself because everyone’s taste is different.
You really can’t judge food honestly when you’re eating back to back.. You need to clean your palate before trying the next item! Try lemon water in between.. otherwise your meshing flavors.. jmo 💁🏽♀️

well….the restaurant is still in business. He hasn’t lost 3 restaurants. He’s not traveling state to state cooking out of Air BNBs so that’s something to consider
But Darius is a multi millionaire! Papis opened during the pandemic with PPP money, most businesses take a few years to simply be able to cover their expenses, let alone generate revenue. The jury is still out on how this establishment with fare over the next few years!

The food looked aesthetically pleasing. At least they cared enough to present it well. I am always disappointed though when something looks good, but doesn't taste as good as it looks. But honestly, as a chef, the food never wows me or elevates my taste buds often, no matter where I go. My food has spoiled me rotten. It is what it is. So I am thinking its the same thing for Darius. When you can COOK cook, and you know what you would do, the food in other places just don't compare. I will still go to this restaurant and give them a try.

Sometimes you wish someone did a little more research. Papi isn't a new fad restaurant owner. He started YEARS ago with pop-ups, did lives on IG of him cooking at home, did catering, then had a small diner style restaurant and then finally opened up a true sit down restaurant. He's been making these dishes and posting them before a LOT of others. I'm not saying he started it but as someone who loves food, has always wanted to be a chef and has been following food shows, channels and pages for as long as I can remember, Papi has BEEN around. Also, I've been to his diner and his restaurant and I wouldn't say his food isn't good. I enjoyed the dishes I had. I'm not saying his food is the best I've ever had but it's not on the lower end either. I'd go back. But as always, I'd tell anyone to go for yourself and give it a try. I wasn't impressed with the food either. I'm from Baltimore, and I went to see what the hype was. I should have known it wouldn't live up. Everybody don't know good food, so I paid for that disappointment.

Egg roll looked soggy , them skrimps looked righteous why tf they got the wings in that fryer basket lol put my shyyt on a plate lol lemonade looked watery looked like country time greens looked mid asf . Even Gordon Ramsay had more class reviewing a Baltimore restaurant than him. 1st waitress seemed a little blindsided by the whole recording situation and seemed nervous. I love the second waitress, she was straight to the point and could handle his terrible attitude. Hope they’re doing very well.

Sometimes you wish someone did a little more research. Papi isn't a new fad restaurant owner. He started YEARS ago with pop-ups, did lives on IG of him cooking at home, did catering, then had a small diner style restaurant and then finally opened up a true sit down restaurant. He's been making these dishes and posting them before a LOT of others. I'm not saying he started it but as someone who loves food, has always wanted to be a chef and has been following food shows, channels and pages for as long as I can remember, Papi has BEEN around.
Also, I've been to his diner and his restaurant and I wouldn't say his food isn't good. I enjoyed the dishes I had. I'm not saying his food is the best I've ever had but it's not on the lower end either. I'd go back. But as always, I'd tell anyone to go for yourself and give it a try.
