- After waking up at 5am, it was time for country number two on my list for my summer trip - Kyrgyzstan. To get there, it would be going by Mashtrutka across central Asia and through the border to get to Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
I have no camera equipment and decided to experiment with travel vlogging with my phone on my journey. It was harder than I expected, not really sure what to say while navigating bus stations and border checkpoints. I hope next time I will have the equipment and practice for a better quality vlog.

as of 2023 the sairan or bishkek bus station is now upgraded to big tour bus (one that goes to almaty-bishkek). Also the border on both sides they upgraded or remodeled or repaired (its no longer open ghetto fences anymore)

In the border KZ/KG you need to find the same bus you took from Almaty on the otherside or you need to take a new bus from the border to bishkek?
Different bus that will take you to Bishkek, the bus from Almaty only takes you to the border.

Yes, there is a bus to the border and then there are buses on the other side to take you to Bishkek.
Easy procedure - it's like going through passport control at an airport, you get checked in and out.

Are the bus station on the border in an official building and under commercial supervision, or do the buses stop at the border randomly?

@@HHH-so9ro walk maybe 50 metres and you'll see buses lined up on the road, and in a car park. Bus drivers pointing you to the way. You really can't miss it.
It was around $0.30 for the way to Bishkek from the border.

The ticket is arouny $3 and you can but it at the bus station. You can't but it online but trains tickets can be bought online.

Did you get from almaty to Bokonbayevo in one day? How many hours was it?
I forgot the exact amount of hours, but it's perfectly possible. My second trip I left Almaty at 9am and was in Karakol by 5, with a stop in Bishkek for lunch.
im planning the same trip kazak to Kyrgyzstan but I dont speak any Russian, do you think its possible ?
I met many people who travelled there thar spoke no russian, it's definitely possible, but I suggest learning some phrases to make things easier.

@@mcpartridgeboy never saw anything like that, Kyrgiztan and Kazakstan are quite secular (I think because of the Soviet influence in the past). You'll see girls in skirts and drinking alcohol, for example. You'll never see anything extreme.
