      I hear ya. I really wish the info was out there when I was coming up in this world. I probably wouldn't have wasted so much time and funds experimenting. If the carrier fits your body then 10x12 is probably ideal, just make sure there is enough room for the plate thickness of your choice.

      It's tough on the in-between size folks. You'll have to make the decision for yourself. Sometimes multicurve plates can help fitment but it's not a guaranty as everyone's body is different. You can also try the SAPI small if you think you'll like the cut.

    • @bunnyoperator
      @bunnyoperator  Před 2 měsíci +2

      You can try SAPI small but it depends on if you prefer shooter cut style. See if the 10x12 fits you or how much excess you have to deal with. If you can run it then there are more options in the 10x12 size. Your carrier should be based on your plate size, so check the product description to ensure it'll fit your plate. I have Velocity Systems Scarab and Defense Mechanisms MEPC videos if you want those as reference.

      I touched on them, but you bewbie bearers likely have to use a variety of techniques and see what works for you. Every bewbie bearer has found different things that has worked for them depending on their body type and, well, shape. Sports bra and multicurve plates seem to be the common, however.

    • @bunnyoperator
      @bunnyoperator  Před 2 lety +2

    • @bunnyoperator
      @bunnyoperator  Před 2 lety

      @@Jewifer333x2 That's a personal choice that you'll have to make to balance protection vs mobility. I don't think anyone can fault you for making the conscious and educated decision because well... it's your decision. Just ensure that your PC adequately supports the plate size with minimal slop and you're good.

    10x12 is medium in most plates. Are Hesco plates different?

    • @bunnyoperator
      @bunnyoperator  Před 2 lety

      10x12 Shooter Cut is considered as Large in Hesco's plate sizing nomenclature. They have the Large 10x12 and the Small 8x10 Shooter Cut plates. Of course single vs multicurve also affects fitment.
      There was a recent Small 9x11 Swimmer Plate sizing offered in the M210 plate variant but the Large M210 is still 10x12.
      The only sizing charts that should be uniform are the SAPI sizes for XS, Small, Medium, Large, XL.

      Great video! I’m a smaller dude and there aren’t any shops that sell this stuff anywhere near me so no chance of test fitting before I buy. Never thought of using paper as a rough guide. I found that I can actually use a 10x12 plate ok. Paper was a bit small on my chest but I also had a folder that’s 9.5”x11.5” I could use to more accurately gauge how a 10x12 plate would probably fit. It’ll just cover the nips and I should be able to move around and shoulder my rifle without too much restriction. Thanks for putting this out there!

    I like HESCO stuff but the L210 is NOT RATED to stop the MOST COMMON .308cal ammo on the market. L210 will NOT stop M80 or M80A1. In fact I am willing to bet that it won’t stop so many of the similar threats like 6.5 Creedmoore, .270Win, .300WINMAG or even the ubiquitous .30-06. I hate to say it bro, but you just bought yourself a heavy false sense of security.
