It's crazy we can learn those for free. You have been helping me a lot!
I have watched so many tut videos of software such as Maya, aftereffects, etc.., but you are the bestest! Thank you so much!
Very expressive and I learnt what I need, thank you so much for everything :) You're the best in Touchdesigner universe !
I can't even explain how grateful I am, I've followed many tutorials about what TD is like, but nobody explains how to use it as you do. Thank you very much mate
Really nice to hear that, I appreciate the feedback!
Yeah man, you would think the people that made the software would be the best at explaining it! Instead it's brave people like Bileam that have to do it. To me it looks like selling a TV without a manual and relying on the public to crack the mystery, I never really understood why.
@@RusticRaver not agree, Derivative has a lot of free resources to learn the software, not to mention the detailed description of each operator and its parameters, the snippets, the resources of the palette
@@xurxoSantome I'm glad to have your opinion! Yes there are some great things too, operator snippet is my favorite, very instinctive way to learn, TD is still my favorite software u know and its only the beginning hopefully, sorry for having a critical sense. But then again you end up with loads of the same tutorials very time consuming, I do find the wiki a bit useless and very technical description rather than a downloadable example of the thing working. Then again it relies on people doing free tutorials, what do they get in return? Of course you can buy courses too, which I did.
your tutorials are absolutely brilliant and have been great for me especially your beginners guide (which I def am lol). I have a question though and was curious if you had any ideas: So I have been exporting movie files and they look great on my computer but then look super pixelated on my phone! Any ideas on what is causing that? It's been very frustrating! Thanks for everything you do again!
Thank you very much for your tutorials, so that people from all over the world can see them, which has helped us a lot. I always follow your youtube to see what you have done to share, thank you for your efforts,
Yes B, thanks for the effort. love from peru
I guess I'm kinda off topic but does anyone know of a good site to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Gunnar Maddox i watch on Flixzone. Just google for it =)
@Armando Cassius definitely, have been using FlixZone for since april myself :)
@Armando Cassius thanks, signed up and it seems like a nice service :) I really appreciate it!!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. You are really good at explaining. I was wondering if you knew how I can maintain the brilliance of my colors when I export as .mov? Somehow when I export all my colors become more dull and loses the color impact.
dude, your videos have helped me so much. thank you.
Love your videos, so helpful. I know this is a basic question but how does one change the aspect ratio of the canvas?
great tutorial! I followed every step but I ended with a 1280x1280 or 720x720 format, do you have any idea why I have square format? even though I have it as 1280x720? thanks!
Muchas gracias!, los mejores tutoriales de TD!
you are amazing !! thanks for this !!
wonderful tutorials, thank you!
I wanted to ask how can I record a realtime video with Ableton sound on? -- playing Live with TD and Ableton
thanks!!
I don't know whether I missed that but after you set your time line as long as your track's length how can I export that as a video without using manual "Record ON/OFF" button ?
Brilliant Tutorial - BRAVO! and THANXX!!
With the info chop, the cook_frame value is your lenght in ms! My song is 5.52sec = 352 ms, and cook_frame is 352522. It also takes into account the ms you miss when just adding the 000's
Thank you!
@@elekktronaut Well, what you actually want in the timeline is the number of frames, not the milliseconds. I think it's the file_length_frames in the info chop (maybe the true_file_length_frames, I don't know the difference), which is 4218. If the track would be exactly 70 seconds, this would make 4200 frames at 60FPS.
Hi! I really like your work, thanks. Is it possible to show us the workaround you upload file from TD to instagram? and more tutorials please, I really like the organic look of your works!
Thank you sir, all worked!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, you're the master :) But what about exporting a png sequence? I didn't find any proper answer on the web!
finally! been making beginner stuff lately but didnt know how to export lool
how do you set up the render of a sequence of images? it renders only one image even if you choose „sequence” option
Doing god's work
Thanks always!, quick question. I would like to record multi-ops activated in background instead of using movie file out with single op. how can i do this?
Thank you! for all of your videos. They've been super helpful to learn TD!!
I am trying to export a short 360° video to visualize it in an Oculus Go, but till now, it hasn't worked properly and I'm not sure what I'm missing there...
My approach is to render in equirectangular mode and connect it to a Projection TOP as a cube map, then export it using the Movie File Out TOP as you show.
Though it is a cube map, the file is not recognized as a 360° video. Is there something before exporting in TD that I should take into account for that format?
Hey! were you able to find a way? thx
The quality of my export is much lower then what I see on TD background...I've set realtime, 60fps, photomotionJPEG. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?....btw thanks for your tutorials!!!great stuff
Hi, first of all i love your tutorials :).
I have a question about the movie file out TOP and the different containers you can choose. I try to export a mp4 video and tested it with different codecs for both video and sound and i can't find a solution that is working on ios devices AND android devices. One of them is no problem but it seems to be really hard to find the right settings to work in both worlds. I always have the problem, that sound is not working on either ios or android devices. Maybe you got a tip what i can do about that.
Another problem i stumbled across was sometimes it requires a Header Source DAT and i couldn't figure out how that is working so it wouldn't let me export with that settings.
thank you for your great content!!! What would be the best way to change the resolution for the entire network? I guess you could set-up a base resolution in the beginning right?
Kind of. The size TOP you start with (left to right) determines the size of the next TOP if its common page is set to receive its resolution from the sending top.
Each TOP has its own resolution, so your network doesn’t have a native resolution. If you have two different sized images or video streams or whatever you might composite the smaller one over the bigger one, so each TOP has to be able to all be sized and resized independently.
You can go up a level and set the container to a certain resolution and then change your TOPs to match that resolution by either remembering it or using an expression. I think it’s “me.parent().width” and “me.parent().height” to inherit the parent containers dimensions
One trick I like to use is to put a CONSTANT TOP of the proper resolution in first, and make it transparent. Then when you feed it into the next TOP it will generally take the resolution it receives and use that as it’s resolution.
Just remember, the TOP you export will be the resolution of the final file, and you can change the resolution (and pixel depth) on the common page of just about any TOP.
It’s also a good idea to check your pixel type on each TOP that starts a series, say a noise top, to the pixel depth you need from it. NOISE TOPs for instance start as a 256 by 256 square with 8 bit RBG pixels, but it might be a good idea to bump that up to 1920x1080 and 32bit RGBA pixels if you want a high level of detail.
Any tips on how to use the time line data to time an lfo's curve.? Trying to set the peak of an lfo at the midpoint of the project timeline for seamless ramp up and down parameters for video export.
You are THE BEST! :)
Hi, amazing! how to export interactive projects? like your watercolor example?
keep doing stuff. thanks
hello first thank you for sharing your information ... i just wounder to know more about image sequence and how can i export a part with image sequence ? for example :A0001.png ... A1000.png
Hey thanks for the great tutorial! I followed your instructions of making a perfect loop, but when I've recorded I can save the file and see it, but when I double click on it to open in vlc it just opens for a millisecond then shuts down, seems to be corrupt or something?
After you have stopped the recording, you need to change back to "loop", so the recording is actually finished.
Thank you very much, it's really helpful, but I have a question, how can I export the movie with more than one audio?
I am not sure if it's the proper way to do it but, you can merge your two audiofileins with a merge CHOP before connecting it to an audiodevout. Then reference it to the Audio CHOP parameter in moviefileout.
I have a problem when I want to export a clip with the alpha/transparent background. I get the result I want when I export it as TIFF but when I want a MOV file it just shows up black? any solutions? Love your videos btw!
Afaik it's only possible to render videos with alpha using the HAP codec. Hope that helps!
If I select the H.264 or H.265 output option it says I can't do this because I don't have the commercial license :(
Hey Bileam, seems my exports are low quality, is the only way to export with higher quality with the commercial version? Thanks
Hi! With the free version you can in and output files at 1280x1280 maximum.
Thank you. Is it possible to export normal maps from touchdesigner and how would I do that?
Well you can just add the moviefileout to the normal map top!
whenever i export/record something i loose my audio. Why is that?
how can i export alpha?
You are still a wonderful person.
Thanks, good timing to say that
Hi, thanks for the video. One problem I have is when I put the track length in miliseconds, somehow the track lasts more than an hour although the normal length is 4.18 min and I am sure ı picked "once" in playing, any clue or suggestions?
You're right, I noticed that doesn't work as I thought. I think it's got to do with the tempo, have you tried setting that as the same as the song?
@@elekktronaut Thanks for the reply! Yes I tried, the timeline is still off but I could manage getting one song length by selecting "locked to timeline" in play mode of audio file in. Then, I just stop recording at the exact finish time. Good enough solution for now :)
@@verdano2577 He has the project set to 60 fps (frames per second), so 1 second is 60 frames long. 1 minute is 60 seconds so a 1 minute song will have 60 frames times 60 seconds = 3600 frames long, 7200 for 2 mins, etc. That's probably that 4218 value on the info for an over a minute long song. At 30 fps for 1 min. song: 30 X 60 =1800
@@MrRobMusic1 Makes a lot of sense, I will try it, thank you so much
Yesss bro :)
Here I was messing with a video when I suddenly realized, "HEY! I have no idea how to output the final video of this." ... Having only discovered TD a few days ago. LOL
excuse me,How to export Png Image Sequence?
Bloody love you btw
❤️
Thanks!!!!!!!!
How do you export a transparent background?
png files keep transparency.
Then you can import in Photoshop.
For video, export as image sequence I guess... Then, on editing, pretty much every serious program has an "import as sequence" checkbox to convert images in video.
Anyone got TD full version? Does it record better, I mean without slowing down as much, I see this nvidia encoding option. At the moment if I make a complex animation at 60fps then I record I get almost 1/2 ; 35fps and it looks like shit. I have tried all sorts to fix it, no success.
I've tried using that (with the full version and my pc), and yea it's super compressed and looks awful :/ I'm usually just exporting as Photo/Motion JPEG and then convert it with handbrake afterwards.
@@elekktronaut thx , ok I'll have to do some sacrifices here. or learn GLSL a bit more.
@@elekktronaut have you seen this? czcams.com/video/pcaWvv-LFPY/video.html
@@elekktronaut I have problem with that too especially when try to convert it. It loses all the quality. How do you convert it without losing the quality?
Do you know how to export a movie with a transparent background?
only works with the hap alpha codec
15 minutos para que me diga que para grabar se usa movie file out y tenes que apretar record
Can you stop being so freakin awesom?
I shall not 😌
how do I include sound in my video sir?
I explain that at around 12:30
@@elekktronaut thanks sir! sorry I didn't watch the whole video.
11:05
loop 8:40
this could've been a 5 minute video bro
15 minutes to export is so bad, no one can ever pull out a short and easy video
check out my newer video on this
