You're theory is sound and you provided all the science necessary to prove it. However, if a single stage relief valve is the answer for such a huge problem why is no-one marketing them? Including you! Several reputable diesel performance shops are swapping to plugs and there just isn't anyone out there saying that they regret making the swap. You guys should be building these things from new parts and marketing them if it's that common of a failure. Someone should get Gale Banks to install a plug on a motor in his test booth and see if he can destroy the fuel system. He likes to blow shit up. Your test machine looks like a valuable tool to a shop that isn't just in the market of selling everyone new injectors. Great video!

I have had a rail plug for over a year now. Tuned, larger injectors bigger turbo and intake horn. So far so good. I do pulls every time the light turns green. Fingers crossed.

I have a zd30crd in Australia, I was having issues with funny rail pressure and suction control valve working outside its range and putting the engine in limp mode.......changed suction valve (assuming it was caused by dirty fuel from my spare fuel tank), same drama, decided to change pressure relief valve as a last resort, pulled it out and it had been replaced with a plug, put the valve in and my rail pressure actually went up 3500psi and the car is driving beautifully now, very happy with it now.

He is 100% correct I’ve seen the aftermath of what these plugs can do blow lines to pieces even seen a 6.7 rail crack I know there are tons of people who run plugs and dont have an issue but that doesn’t mean that it’s safe for your fuel system be smart do your homework great video my friend !!!

I put one of those plugs in my 08 Cummins and it killed my cp3. I recommend a good tune by a pro and you will be happier than what a $25 part will give you in 6 months before you have to start replacing expensive parts

  • @mallcrawleroffroad-brandon9298

I've been running a rail plug on a 12mil stroker. 28k 3100 duration. No issues so far for my 5.9, but now I'm sketched out.. I'll have to look into this.. i did detune the truck and don't beat on it anymore. I'll ll check it out in a few. Thanks for the information

I’m guessing from what you’re saying is to not put a solid rail plug asa replacement instead keep or get a plug that you all can adjust?

Makes a lot of sense, it's like a hydraulic pump. It will go until something explodes, pump or hose.

I still feel like shimming the valves do not harm as much as plugging

Where can I buy one of these pressure relief plugs?

    • @MotorsportDiesel

It isn't a plug it is the factory valve that has been modified to operate as shown in the video. We can modify an existing valve if you have one or provide you with a new one, contact us for more information.
