Ronnie- oh my heart ❤. Barry was such a phenomenial guitarist... and Paul was one of the most criminally underrated bass players of all time. This is a gem 🙏
When the record execs told Mr. Goddard that he had to "dress like a rock star", he continued to wear slacks from JcPenney or Sears, as he had always done. He was the salt of the earth as was Mr. Hammond who later left music and became an accomplished carpenter and house framer. I believe someone I knew in the south actually knew him in the buildings trades.
Love their music! These men were the best of the best to me. All this talent and now they are all passed. Glad they happened in my time! God Bless their families for sharing them with us!!😊😊❤❤❤
I knew all the words to this as a kid in the 70s. I would sing this all the time. No punishment from family nor judgement from friends. Now as an adult, I still sing it..now as my anthem.
It was during the disco era when these guys hit. When AM radio ruled the air. FM radio started to become popular and mainstream... Thank You ARS ... thank you...
Never ever be bands and true music such as this again, so sad I guess I should have paid more attention to it , everything comes to an end I guess!!!!!!!
Amazing song, amazing group of session musicians from Atlanta. I was 12 y.o. when this song first hit the airwaves and now today at 58 y.o. I finally learned the true meaning behind the song from the songwriter himself Buddy Buie and it surprised me. Back in the 60's-70's, songs were written in metaphors to sound one way but mean something entirely different or as I would say, a clever way of dancing around the fire without censorship. I remember when Ed Sullivan tried to censor Jim Morrison of the Doors which we all know didn't work as Jim still uttered the words on live network television "Light My Fire" which got him banned from the show. The Eagles were one of the clever groups among many as well as another group The Starland Vocal Group, and even Jefferson Airplane with Marty Balin and Grace Slick who would hide trick shots in plain view using metaphors.
I believe all the members are passed except the keyboardist . I was watching an interview with their producer at Musicians Hall Of Fame (Municipal Auditorium) in downtown Nashville, and he said that this song is exactly what you think. This song was #8 on the Billboard charts in 1978.
@deadmanrunning- Rodney started with them for a brief time & quit early on. Ronnie Hammond was frontman singing all their popular hits & albums& remained in the band thru their peak years. Rodney showed back up & tours with what is now a mere tribute band because they are all dead. 😢
I didn't realize Dean died too. Everybody seen here is no longer with us. Or I guess you could say this famous lineup of the ARS Rodney Justo still out there keeping the band going the original singer he's recruited quite a few pretty good players for the most part keeping it alive.

You are right about Paul. His bass guitar solo on "Another Man's Woman" from the live album "Are You Ready" is one of the greatest ever.
Ronnie Hammond voice is one of the best ever!! Great guitar and keyboards made this a great band!

These guys were smooth and so good. Barry Bailey was excellent!
Southern easy listening at it's very best. Gone but not forgotten.
Awesome! We need more actual footage of this great band! Love it!
Satisfaction guaranteed!
Why are they not in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame????

Satisfaction Gauranteed.
Thanks For Posting Another Great Classic I Saw Them In Concert Before The Lead Singer Passed Away
I think most of this lineup is dead.
@@AussieTVMusic All of this lineup is dead sadly.
@@fletcherbowman5456 Thought so. All were not that old either
older than ur cat donkey@@AussieTVMusic
First time hearing them, i really liked this song
ARS had some serious talent on board...

Singer Rodney Justo is still with us.
From here on the great musicians continue to pass thru the veil of death

Not sure if their paths ever crossed, but imagine Little River Band on-tour with ARB, wow
MIS INTENSOS 18 AÑOS👍❤️

Great Band Miss the Days. I’m guessing not many know what the song means?! Creative for all❤️
Who doesn't like a nice bit of ARS.
1978? i THOUGHT THIS WAS 77 . I LOVE ars
Excelente tema
Ronnie Hammond was so handsome and sexy
Just seen them in York PA! Rodney Justo sounds great!
I know they played Knebworth '78. Gotta be some footage of them, somewhere!
wow, that's wild
I wonder why they shortened this by a minute the original cut on the champagne jam album It's a 5-minute song
Video stopped cold by commercials.

I wonder if the bassplayer wrote this song
Writing credits are Buddy Buie (producer), Robert Nix (drummer) & Dean Daughtry (keyboards).
Such a classy comment, what a joke you are. Paul Goddard was one of the best bass players of any era, very well respected and talented man.
how do you figure? he does look pretty "chill" up there, maybe he did!
@@Jgeneraledger23 He has a face of somebody that does a lot of imagining..
