- When you walked into the room
There was voodoo in the vibes
I was captured by your style
But I could not catch your eyes
Now I stand here helplessly
Hoping you'll get into me
I am so into you
I can't think of nothing else
I am so into you
I can't think of nothing else
Thinking how it's going to be
Whenever I get you next to me
It's gonna be good, don't you know
From your head to your toe
Gonna love you all over, over and over
Me into you, you into me, me into you
I am so into you
I am so into you, ooh
When you walked into the room
There was voodoo in the vibes
I was captured by your style
But I could not catch your eyes
Now I stand here helplessly
Hoping you'll get into me
I am so into you
I can't get to nothing else
I am so into you baby
I can't get to nothing else
No, no, no, come on baby
I am so into you
Love the things you do
Listen baby
Driving me crazy, ooh
Come on baby, oo-ooh
I am so into you
Love the things you do
Come on baby
I am so into you
I am so into you, yeah
I am so into you

It takes me back to my childhood and AM radio. This still sounds good.
Summer of '77 and about to enter High School. What an amazing and easier time. So much hate and terrible music today, SO GLAD I GREW UP WITH THIS
@@sterlingarcher9208 Totally agree!!!👌✔️
Agreed!😊
Awesome song, still listening in 2023❤
Since 1976 I'm still listening and loving that song!
@@enriquegutierrez186 ... the music was so great the year I got my divorce, which was extra special since I wasn't allowed to listen to anything other than his favorite...country music. I hated country music back then. ARS was a fantastic band! 🎶
When the late Mr. Goddard (in the blue Hawaiian shirt with the glasses) was told by the record executives that he should "dress like a rock star", he continued to wear slacks from the likes of JCPenney or Sears and did things on his own terms. The late Mr. Hammond retired from the musical business at 51 and became a talented carpenter and house framer. From those that knew him, he was a quiet and devoted family man. RIP.
Fuck yeah man
@@dsg0006 Reportedly Mr. Goddard once came home late from being on the road and was quite hungry. All that was in the house was a can of cat food for "Ernestine" (later on renamed Ernie once he realized it was a male). Rumor had it that Mr. Goddard split the can of food with the meow box.......
Me as a true fan at that time and still!, never think about that!, even figured out!!, always captured by that kind of style and talent!!!
That's how killing words can be!, and most coming from an "ejecutive!"!!
Time stood still.
12 years old I used to listen to this song every day in El Salvador, not knowing what they were saying, now I’m blessed to live in this beautiful country and understand the lyrics.
Thank you
Thanks for your comments!, i was 14, when i heard this beatiful song for the first time in 1977...ARS one of my very favs. bands....reading your words i'll recommend you a song from Santana: Life Is Just A Passing Parade!😉👍🏻
All talent, no flash. History!
heavenly lead guitar.
Long live the seventies and the eighties how I miss you so 05-10-23
Always loved the way this song was done... "I am...SO...into you" If it was "I am really into you" it wouldn't work
That guy who was laughing at the beginning of this video looked like Tony Joe White, who wrote "Rainy Night In Georgia", and "Polk Salad Annie". He looked a bit sarcastic there.
I think The Atlanta Rhythm Section was beyond amazingly talented. The lineup here was the ultimate best! They performed this song 100% live, with NO BACKING TRACK, OR AUTO-TUNE. Ladies and gentlemen.... This is what pure, raw talent is.... ✌🏻😎👍🏻
Totally right!!!, that was taken from a video compilation of BBC'S Old Grey Whistle Test...here's the "setlist":

Delaney & Bonie - Poor Elijah - Tribute To Robert Johnson 1969

Dobie Gray - Drift Away - Old Grey Whistle Test 1974
Edgar Winter Group - Rock N Roll Boogie Woogie - Old Grey Whistle Test 1973
Black Oak Arkansas - Hey Y'All - Old Grey Whistle Test 1978
Dickey Betts - Ramblin' Man - Old Grey Whistle Test 1978
Tony Joe White - Polk Salad Annie - In Concert 1970

Johnny Winter - Rock N Roll - Old Grey Whistle Test 1977
Elvin Bishop - Travellin' Shoes - Old Grey Whistle Test 1975
ZZ Top - Cheap Sunglasses - Old Grey Whistle Test 1980.
Thanks for your comment!!👍🏻
True. An actual LIVE performance, a beautiful job
Barry Bailey: just the right number of notes in all the right places, sensational melodies, gorgeous harmonics, and fabulous tone, all while appearing to be napping.
Barry was bad ass. How about those guitar parts in Spooky.
Lol!
Nobody like him. I saw them 3 times with original line-up
@@roberthamlin6638 was Barry the 'common link' to Classics IV? I know there was some overlap
@@Jgeneraledger23 Barry played with Roy Orbinsons group The Candymen. I think ARS drummer Robert Nix also played with the candymen. JR Cobb the Rythum player for ARS played with the Classics 4. Buddy Bouie who produced and wrote songs for ARS also managed the Classics IV. Dean Daughtry of ARS also played with the Classics.
yep....a seriously under-rated band...always admired them. Great bass lines from Paul Goddard. rock on.
Where are they rated, please? I would like so see how they are rated.
God speed Barry Bailey....................
finally someone uploaded the original OGWT audio. awesome
Bingo!, you're the first that notice about the audio!, i get the original audio from a live cd, and insert it back to the video, to improve sound quality!, and besides formatted to 16:9, can't stand old 4:3 videos on a 16:9 screen...that black spaces to the sides!😖😖😃😃,
Thanks for your accurate comment!!✔️👍🏻👍🏻
Better now than then . Awesome. This jumped into my head this morning after 45 years.
It happened to me this very morning brings back some very intimate times.
Yep! Same HERE! I nicked myself shaving my chin this morning, playing a masterful air guitar with a razor in my hand! 😂🎉
I had no idea the singer was that good-looking. I knew that voice had to match the man.
I knew him. He was absolutely gorgeous
lol think of all the action he got... wow
Amazing!! crushing on this dude
Me too !! 😍😍
Always thought Ronnie Hammond was sexy. AWESOME SONG !! 💕
I miss the REAL singers of the past when music was REAL MUSIC.
R.I.P to Ronnie and all of the members of ARS who have passed on.
I'm So into This Video and this Singer For Sho🤩❤️🥰❤️🤟🏻❤️🔥🤟🏻
That outro guitar solo is one of my favorites ever
Totally agree!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻✔️👌🏻
Yes!!! I’ve thought that since 1976 when I first discovered them at age 14!!!
@@SDAQandA Me tooo at age 12...In Toronto Canada...I was like whoaaaahhh...what is this?
One of my TOP 'Earworm' riffs of the decade where I spend my (semi) Naked teens! 😊
They weren't flashy but they sure could play.
It was great, seeing them do it for real. Mighty nice.
R.I.P. to all the band members who have passed. I know there's been a few unfortunately. Keyboard player & original member Dean Daughtry just a couple days ago. I remember hearing & liking alot of Atlanta Rhythm Section songs when I was a kid, "So Into You" my favorite one.
So bad they passed away like one by one, before we fans could think, one of my fav bands ever!, not to mention A ROCK AND ROLL ALTERNATIVE album was a bomb!, every member was so talented, fine and creative!, i always say that Barry Bailey was an underrated, as a drummer loved Robert Nix style!,
A.R.S. one of the best and own style Rock Bands ever!🙏🙏
Dean Daughtry's passing this past January means there are now no longer any members in ARS's classic lineup still alive; up until then he was the group's only member to play in all its various lineups.
Ronnie Hammond (1950-2011) wasn't a founding member but he did take over from Rodney Justo as lead singer in 1973 before the release of the band's second album, Back Up Against the Wall.

@@ClassicTVMan1981X wow, NOBODY in the original lineup is still with us? Holy cow
That guitar solo, baby, tasty playing and what a perfect Les Paul tone!
They was such a great band , one of my favorites.
Damn this is sooo good
Incredible tune with an incredible groove. Top notch stuff!
Just so cool without pretending. Such an incredible time period. Miss my parents and friends who have passed on.
How many warm summer nights did they miss out on?
Those guitar riffs and that singing❤❤
Great live version.
Great band.
I’m 20 and a tinknocker, I’m forced to listen to this during work everyday
Friend, most people don't know or care what a tin knocker is. Thank you for all your hard work, keeping us warm and cool. Do you like this music?
Do you work Down South
The Steely Dan of Southern Rock
THAT is the BEST description I've ever heard anyone come up with! Bravo!
@@impalaman9707 In short, but so accurate comparison!!😃✔️
Ha! What a great comment. They definitely had a similiar "chill" factor.
Great band. Great song. 🎵 🎶 🎵
Yeah man, bringing back the best decade.
Thats good stuff right there lads.
This whole lp is in my top favorites. LOVE it! ❤
liked and subscribed
I love you johnny
Ronnie Hammond's voice! 💯 love this song, but am I the only one who thinks this particular recording of the song sounds slowed down a little, compared to their other recordings of it?
I think their *slowest* version is from the =Are You Ready= live album...😉
Ronnie Hammond was so handsome and sexy. and that voice. mmmm
Such a great song! ❤❤❤
This is awesome. only found it watching "last cab to Darwin". I reckon I may have had a use for it some years ago....
Love the close-up at 02.25. So into him.
User name checks out....
De las canciones que mas me gustan, ese groove!
This song is so awesome to listen to 🎶 👏 🔥 💯 🎵 👌 🙌
One of my favorites ever!, since 1976 still love that beatiful song!, through time often there's some songs that can saturate you, and you have to stop some time to listen them again, this is not on that list!!👍🏻 So bad A.R.S.(that album members) passed away🙏🙏
This is the same era I saw them. Stood in front of Barry...so cool!
GOD! WHAT AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE!, GREAT MUSICIANS EVERY SINGLE GUY ON THAT LINE UP!, SO TIGHT AND FINE PLAYING!
R.I.P. 🙏🙏THE ONES PASSED AWAY!
Love it.
Nice outro solo! Sweet man
John & Michelle Paris 💋💋💋
I would have loved to see ARS in concert tonight.❤️
I think this band was an inspiration for Spinal Tap. That era was like no other.
Hermosa canción.
Very nice & good !!
Adoro tanto questo pezzo 💙
I saw original lineups of The Candymen, Classics IV and ARS.
@@grouchosays WHAT A PRIVILEGE!, LUCKY ONE!😃👏👏👏👌
@@enriquegutierrez186 The Candymen were the greatest cover band ever. I vividly remember them doing “Summer in the City” and “We Can Work it Out.” Utter perfection. Summer in the City was deafening. Laid me out. The harmonies in We Can Work it Out were beyond perfect. Rehoboth, Delaware in a roller rink.
I'll check 'em out!, thanks for your recommendation!👏👏👍👍
@@enriquegutierrez186 you won’t find much good on the Candymen. I didn’t like their original stuff. But they were a fabulous cover band. But they morphed into the Classics IV and then ARS.
Yeah!, i see...at the end what a result!, evolution was the best!, Classics IV, and one of the best "Southern" Rock bands ever!: A.R.S.!!!, miss all the guys!🙏🙏
So into you.... been there , done that .....
The drummer in this band, Robert Nix, played drums on Skynyrd's "Tuesday's Gone" from their "Pronounced" album
That's right!👍🏻
Miss ya Ronnie😢
Can hear a bit of Supertramp influence here.
Goddard was a beast
1:37 🎸💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
❤
You can't sing this song without a genuine Southern accent. I tried singing it with my Southern California accent. It didn't work.😅
👍 😘
tempo starts out a bit slow but catches up to speed around :45
Such an awesome song and for a teenager full of raging hormones...... Yeah!
Paul Goddard could play the damn bass.... Drum Sticker 1:42, 3:20
Love the ole dixie flag Right Up There on stage!
Too sad that we live in the 'Woke' age we do today!
Cheers...
'n' have a ghod day.
Great music, great era…NOT the flag, I’m in the south, so… cheers 😀🇺🇸
@@11dswno one cares
So in short the song's story is that this guy is pinning for a lady big time. They end up together or his romantic notions not realized?
Appalled: I rediscovered this song and this band and I loved it. But then, I spotted a confederate flag in this video as the song starts. That ruins it all for me.
Grow up, the Confederate flag is merely a decoration now and in this context it is representing our Southern Heritage if a meaning must be taken from this decoration.
Uh oh-a Confederate flag on their Mellotron/organ? They must have been RACIST and this video taken off youtube and destroyed forever!! I am of course using the absurd to illustrate a point. When I was a kid in the late 1970s ARS were huge were I lived second only to Skynyrd.
Yeah, very ironic. The fact is, they wouldn't even be playing the kind of music they play if their ancestors hadn't imported their field hands from Africa
@@impalaman9707 Agreed, but rock n roll is not just music from the cotton fields of The South. Music from the hills of Appalachia was an ingredient as well. I was being a wise ass about the flag. I am the descendant of men who fought for the CSA and am dang proud of it. Idw to get into a discussion about slavery and the history thereof but will if I must. Sigh.
Why is there a confederate flag on stage?
Good question, but i only know that was recorded live at BBC studios London.
Just saying, “Hi. We are from the south.” They aren’t racist. Sorta like if you wear a shirt of your favorite team or your hometown.
Because they're from the Southern US and we didn't view it as any problem. Anyone with sense doesn't still.
