Hello, dude! Great job as always... What is your opinion as for 17 facets round emerald.. If u made 2mm round emerald, how many facets would you make 17 or 57? And why? Thank you
It depends on several properties of the stone in question and its subsequent use. If it is top material (color, clarity), a more elaborate cut would certainly be worthwhile. But 2mm is quite small, it requires a lot of attention and a very steady careful hand when faceting. The more facets, the more work, whether the extra effort is worth it, each Gemcutter has to decide for themselves.
Carat is a unit of weight 1 ct equals 0.2 grams 1 gram equals 5 ct The simplest method is of course weighing the stone, but it can also be calculated using the size, shape and density.
