  • Question 9
Why do we see water droplets on the outer surface of the glass containing ice-cold water?
    Answer 9
Water vapour in air loses energy on coming in contact with the cold glass of water and gets converted in to liquid state, which we see as water droplets on the outer surface of cold glass of water.
Dew on the grass. Water droplets on the grass

Why do the water droplets lose energy when they come in contact with the cold glass of water? 😅

We know that the state of matter changes when the temperature changes
Here, the temperature of the glass is cold as it contains ice cold water
So, when the water vapours (gaseous State) come close to the cold glass, it changes its state of matter to liquid ie water droplets in this case.

Short answer - because of humidity !! Right ??

Because of humidity in the atmosphere and the temperature of the water
