61-62 is in my opinion crazier. I still think it’s dumb how Bill won with 18.9 ppg, 23.6 rpg, and 4.5 apg, when Wilt had astronomically better points, better rebounds, and Oscar had way more assists than both combined. Russell was lucky as hell to win that one, it should have been Wilt 1, then Oscar, then Russell.

Regarding 1962 it looks bizarre, why Russel and not Chamberlain or Robertson. But I've read what Russell was focused on the winning above everything else and played that way that his team would win. But Wilt and Oscar were just stat padding. They put personal stats above team success. For example playing bad defense in order to get in position for a defensive rebound. Wilt for example used to get rebound and instead of passing for a fast break he waited for everyone to gather so he'll also be on the offensive side of the court to ensure that he would score instead of anyone of his teammates.
Early in the days players themselves voted for who is the Most Valuable (not the best). And contribution for a team was more valuable than personal stat padding.
What is stat-padding? Just look at Russell Westbrooks game. Especially in OKC and WAS. He leaves his defensive assignment in order to grab rebound. Steals rebounds from teammates, gets lots of turnovers because of bad passes, because he tries to get 10 assists.
Westbrook was not the 1st to do this kind of stuff. There was Chamberlain but thankfully for him he learned that in order to win he must put his personal stats aside. And in the seasons when he won championships he had similar numbers like Bill Russell and played similar stile. Same goes for Robertson when he won championship he averaged 5.7rpg. Enough for a 6.5ft guard. Lets hope Westbrook will also learn this. Because he has necessary skills and athleticism to be great player. But unfortunately looking at his play in Lakers uniform he had not adjusted his game in any way.

Kobe got more votes for 1st, but Nash had more votes overall. It happened the same to Charles Barkley when he played for Philly. It was this ruke that was the reason he won only one MVP, wich is absurd.

@@paulosantiago7457 Kobe didnt got any MVP votes in 05.
And in 06 NASH was by far better.
Scoring more doesnt mean you are better (mostly because you are also shooting more).
Kobe was losing (and he couldnt blame anyone because he was the one with the ball all the time).
