Hmm, the Philippines and Mexico shares a strong bond, since both country was unified under the Spanish flag, although we've lost the ability to speak Español after the Philippine-American War. We've mixed some of it into our National Language. Graciás, Mabuhay!
These people been living in Mexico simce Spanish Era...Mexican Citizen but Filipino by Blood
nope
Muy bien gracias,. Mexico y el pilipinas
Similitudes💖
Had no I idea my brother, we’re Mexican is married to a Filipina I just sent this to them
This is the first time I enjoy the Philippines Folk, I'm peruvian and latinamerican so It's incredible how this folk is similar to our dances like waltz, polka and other creole rhytms but It's no surprise because they are hispanic culture, these dances are very similar to Mexican and centroamerican folklore
I'm nearly crying i don't know why.. maybe beacuse of joy..tears of joy, that mexico really appreciated our folk dances..such a great feeling!..
proud to be filipino
they can relate with the melody of the music, we have shared Hispanic colonial heritage
@@medelpascual7212 nope they dont
@@medelpascual7212 nope you guys dont
@Vince Christian Resulta why are you so proud that Spain colonized the Philippines? Is it something to be proud of?
look what Espania has done to us, Mexico and Filipinas.... they make us look like cultural siblings! lols
La Hispanidad fue el mejor movimiento de difusion cultural que nunca conoció la Humanidad. Cualquier hijo o hija de nuestros países hermanos debemos estar orgullosos de nuestra herencia.
@@phil_matic f*** u. You're forgetting the fact that our ancestors suffered for 300+ years. Romanticizing what happened in the past without even knowing how hard it is to live in that era. You should be ashamed of yourself.
@@allmight1578 Oh no I didn't forget that they suffered. Every country had it's share of suffering, whether it was of their own ordeal, or at the hands of others. Knowing how people were/are, colonization is a guarantee. It'll happen one way or another. The stronger countries with more resources always go to the others to set up shop. If Spain didn't do the colonization, someone else would've. In the end, I'm happy with where the countries are now. Could they have been better off without the colonization? Perhaps. I'm just happy that things aren't worse off for them.
My point is, a lot of people wish the colonization never happened, and I ask myself why they mean that? What exactly do they think the countries would be like today if it weren't for the colonization? If anything, you should be ashamed for yourself for trying to speak for others. Not everyone is upset that Europe came to the Americas and elsewhere.
Eh... bad things happened but some good came out of it.
@@Panzer_ze_tank like what?? LOST OF OUR IDENTITY? I do know that in today's period, this is what makes us, us. When we achieved our freedom from more than three hundred years of colonization, our Identity change and the new generations are different. Their mindset are different. They are completely LOST. They identify themselves as LATINOS of ASIA. Gosh!
They are lost, they need help.
They love to be called Americanized and Hispanized, like seriously? .
We are Indio that turns to Filipinos but we do not have Spanish blood, most of us.

Philippine folk dances are not just a dance. It has a meaning and history.
The origin of the first dance is "tuba" drinking, once they get drunk, they compete in dancing while placing the glass filled with "tuba" to different part of their body, the one who spilled "tuba" will be loser.
The second is all about "pabitin", though it's very short.
The third dance is "tinikling". They imitate the movement of the bird called "tikling", a bird usually found in a rice field. The bamboo was served as a trap for that bird.
Most of them are. Not just the Philippines. Why should the RP be unique in that regard ?
@@mylesgarcia4625 maybe because of the music and the song.
All folk dances are, kaibigan regardless of the place. Haha can you define folk dance?
All dances have origin and history
There’s no better friendship than between Mexicans and Filipinos❤️✨
And Mexipinay/oy couple. 🇲🇽❤️🇵🇭

@@jmwes12 swallow that
We shared the same fate from the Spaniards haha
Tell that to all the mexican boxers who crossed paths with Pacquiao.
The Philippines was named after King Philip II of Spain, in Honor for him. Philippines and Mexico has a deep root during Spanish time during year 1500 when Spain Colonized the Philippines,, It is Galleon trade between Mexico and Manila,, during those time at the end of 1900 century Filipino speaks Spanish language before Americans came., today the spirit of Spanish language, tradition and cultures was still in the heart of the Filipino...
The Tinikling always gets em 😁
They should always let the crowd try it out, I bet that the kids would love to do so.
Philippine folk dances are the reflection of Philippine history, culture, and tradition. 💖
Even the plaza looks like a usual Plaza here in The Philippines. The entire ambiance feels like home.
Spanish architecture
And your music is like us , even i forget what this was not mexican
I was once a Filipino folk dancer during my elementary days
.It was a great privilege and now that I am living here in America and being mistaken as a Mexican by most people I still feel privileged 🥰
Papansin
This is beautiful!! ❤❤❤My husband is Filipino-American & I'm Mexican-American (Chicana) and he told me so much about how close mexico and Filipino culture are very similar and the history. I never knew this before he told me. I've noticed growing up there was just a lot of asians in mexico and sometimes Mexicans looking Asian or Filipino. Its beautiful how both cultures are very similar and are a big part of each other ❤❤❤Just amazing!
It's not just the dances. I'm sure the Mexicans also appreciated the banduria.
True. Specially the Bandurria Filipina which has an extra string if I'm not mistaken.
I remember watching "The Mask of Zorro" with my dad, starting Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta Jones. During the Fiesta scene, my dad told me they were using bandurrias in the orchestra. I had used the Filipino bandurria when I was 8, but when I was 13, I was in my own world, so didn't notice till my dad pointed it out to me
I’m a Filipino, very happy and proud to watch this video of my kababayans dancing folk dances in a competition in other country...🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Thank u Mexico for appreciating our cultural dances and music...👏👏👏💙💜💚❤️🧡

It still reflects Spanish culture, can’t be denied 🙅♂️.
Yes because we are colonized by Spanish the reason why there are some influences.. But we have unique culture in our ethnic thribes..which is not part of Spanish culture..

So proud of our culture...Filipino folk dances depict part of our history. Those early generations before and after we were colonized. Tho some of those folk dances existed during the Spanish colonization as some of our dances and costumes are similar to those in Mexico.

Note: we used fake candles since we were to young and might accidentally hurt our selves.
