But can be considered cultural appropriation since the dress is traditional non-commercialized yet it's being worn as costume instead of its cultural significance. Although in the context of cosplay, people say it's fine. Personally, I don't really mind foreign people wearing our own traditional dress (in my case, not chinese) as long as it's not of mockery but of genuine admiration, ie., they don't only find it pretty because white people wore it, then if it's the actual cultural inheritors it's yuck.
