    Thank you. That looks like a tent, not a greenhouse. It is still a good idea,. I live in Florida zone 9a and we have the same problem. As far as your heaters, the first one looks like a Hurricane lantern, if Amazon sells it please send me the link for both. It might help others when they look at this comment. Thanks again for the video

    Also helps if you plant against a south facing wall, the wall will absorb heat in the day and will radiate the heat at night. A sunny west wall would help too.

    Great video. Very informative and helpful. I’ll be building a similar structure for my mango trees here in Central Florida. Thank you for the video!

      Sizes we carry are in 3 gallon size. Shipping has gotten too expensive but I guess next season we'll start shipping 3 gallons regardless of shipping fees since a lot of people don't mind paying for shipping.

    Its not as doom and gloom as you may think as everyone knows mangos are tropical tree but they can handle low 30s if they are larger then 10ft without cover and the top will naturally prune the top but under 10ft use a cover but do let the top of the tree touch the cover

    My area gets strong winds. I think tent would blow over. I'm going to have to figure something out for my Soursop. It survived the winter in 9b barely this winter. I planted it October which was a mistake. It recovered and is fully leafed out now. We get as low at 39-45 in winter which did cause damage to branches.

    Thank you for all the information, it was great!! I currently have a potted 2 foot dwarf Julie mango tree here in Souther CA, and it just started to get brown tips. The weather is getting the high 50's. Would that be the reason or does it just need to be watered more?

    Hey there I have small pot plat mangoes that I just planted I live in North Carolina it gets really cold down to 20 degrees and 30 degrees can I keep it in my apartment in my kitchen which heat on in apt... or will it wither..?

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  Před 3 lety +1

      in the pot, you can move it anywhere you'd like as long as you keep the temperatures above freezing. Even in full light, your mango won't grow if you lack hot temperatures. Don't worry if it doesn't get enough light during the winter, it won't grow anyway.

    Is your Fruit Punch mango tree grafted or did you grow it from a seed ?
    How tall was it when you first planted in the ground? What is the height of it now ?
    Did use my any special fertilizer while it was young ?
    What other mango trees do you have ?
    Thank you.

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  Před 2 lety +1

      It's grafted and it was about 6-7ft tall when planted.

    Can you do a video on citrus tree care in winter. I have potted lemon tree, peach tree in ground, kumquat in pot and clementine tangerine tree in pot. Do I need to cover my grape vine? I am in Chandler. Thanks

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  Před 2 lety +1

      I'll make one. Peach and grapes don't need any protection.

    Which mulch do you use and where did you buy it?

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  Před 2 lety

      I've been using straw. Pine nuggets are a good choice as well.

    I have the wood mulch from home depot and there are too many bugs.

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  Před 2 lety +1

      bugs are the ones who eat that mulch and feed your plants. You want the bugs. Any mulch will work.
