Tina Fey does the best impersonator of another person I have ever seen. Also, she looks exactly like Sarah Palin. I like her pageant walking and I like it when she says, "The real one!"
Tina is great, but come on, McKinnon is way better at transforming herself into the person. See Ellen, or bieber, or Kellyanne Conway.

As if the skit couldn't get more surreal there's a llama right behind the real Sarah Palin.
You mean there is a llama dressed in a red suit in front of the real Sarah Palin who is for some reason nude and wearing a harness. I know, I know... The llama in the red suit sure looks a lot like SP but that harness gave it away. The real SP is never allowed in public without a harness.
they should make up a fictional party with a Llama logo
I believe there was a running joke that whenever they did a backstage shot or maybe it was a backstage spot with Lorne, there was always supposed to be a llama in the background.
Remember the real Palin coverage where an animal got slaughtered in the background?
They always have that llama there when they show SNL behind the scenes.
That is a truly scary impersonation when you put the original article next to the impostor and you cannot tell which one is real.
They were actually never next to one another. In fact, Tina insisted that they not appear on screen together.
Tina has a far more pleasant demanor.
It just goes to show how stupid the man bitches are, aka str8 so called, A gay Queen would accidently bitch slap her and look way hotter, opps.

That is when you really see how alike they look.
I was reading about this episode in Fey's book and the lengths they went to , to make sure the audience didnt boo Palin is quite impressive. Such as having Alec Baldwin there to give the audience the message that if a liberal like him could be next to Palin, they could stay cool too.
Makes me wonder if Sudeikis' opening speech was meant more for the live audience.

I think it is ironic that Baldwin would be standing next to the real Palin, seeing as how he would go on to play Trump, the guy who ran through the door that Palin bust open.

It's a far cry from the current situation. Nothing worse than someone who can't laugh at themselves.
She complained many times about how they portrayed her even when she was on the show, so I don't think she actually had a sense of humor about herself. I think it was more her handlers/advisors told her it would be good for her to go on the show, and look like she could poke fun at herself.
Anthony Chilcote even worse when you try to control these organizations to only use humor that puts you in a favorable light but okay.

Yes, but if you read Tina Fey's autobiography, 'Bossypants', you'll see Tina Fey mentions the fact that even though Palin was really nice on set, she later on told the media that SNL was framing her and her family and making her look bad against her wish. Politics is truly dirty!

Guess you don’t know how statistics work. The polls were pretty accurate in 2016, it was people’s predictions when forced to go one way or the other that were incorrect. If something’s given a 33% chance of happening (like the chances given for Trump to win) that is far from impossible, but when forced to bet you’d have to go with the 67% chance. Trump said himself if it were held 10 times he would have lost 9 of them, or something to that effect. Not to mention a 78K winning vote margin across three states, out of over 130 million votes cast, is VERY SMALL.
He won’t pull it off again, not with his $1000 tax on every household from tariffs and confidence in the economy so low.

Oh how far we’ve fallen in just a short amount of time. And it would have been unthinkable back then for John McCain to come out and say the American election was rigged and fraudulent. Unthinkable. Disagree with his politics but he had integrity. He was a man of courage, a true patriot and he loved this country. He’d never have tried to profit from burning down democracy with lies and manipulation. At the very least he cared about this country and he loved America. Trump doesn’t love anyone but himself and a couple, not even all, of his children. He’s taken the constitution and wiped his ass with it and is using our country as a ploy to avoid convictions and being flat broke. Which is treason. It’s absolute treason.

When Tina said she was going to do some "fancy pageant walking", I LOST IT! I may not agree with Governor Palin, but I love that she can take a good ribbing.

Lonnie DeSoto If you like SNL, 30 Rock is a must :) This show is pure gold. Although it has a weird sense of humor, especially relatively to other comedies, and you kind of have to get used to it. I myself had to watch it two and three times in order to really get it, and now I believe it's one of the best scripted comedy shows ever. And Alec is glorious in it!
And now hes been on snl almost every week for the past 4 years lol

I didn't vote for John McCain but I always liked him . Oh I wish we could go back to those times instead of the mess we are faced with now .
I liked him, but it's hard to get over him choosing such a political and intellectual lightweight as a running mate.
I don't know if he was trying to pull a few women to his side or to score points with the Bible-thumpers (not his strongest supporters), but there were better ways to do both of those things.

Props to her for doing it, but it was also self serving as she was trying to wrestle some of the narrative away from the Tina Fey skits. The skits were wildly popular in shaping public perception and I think this was an attempt to brunt their impact by being "part of the joke."

I doubt many of us here can claim to really know S. Palin and whether she’s smart or not. After all, presidential campaigns are all about acting... However, her showing up and taking part of her own roast - that’s definitely a sign of intelligence. Bravo madame.

I think the most unnerving thing about that skit aside from the fact its so hard to tell those two apart is Palin actually looked and acted saner and more intelligent (relatively speaking) than I have ever seen her before. Not being completely fake suits her lol.
Tina Fey's imprssion of Sarah Palin has got to be the most uncanny political impression ever. I think it definitely helped sink Sarah's political aspirations.
Tina Fey, in conjunction with the Katie Couric interviews along with Sarah's own behavior sank her aspirations.
Palin was 100 fathoms under, tied to a breeze block, way before TF got involved.
The resemblance is still uncanny.
