Here's how I'm curling my hair these days when I want a vintage/retro, feminine, classic look. This is an easy vintage hairstyle tutorial for short hair, and will definitely work for long hair as well!

Love your hair like this. I think that taking cortisone type meds could possibly influence the voice. It's not really too much change but a little. I think it happens to all of us too as we get older. You still are amazing Lillian!

I personally think curling irons that have a clip are easier to use than wands, so maybe try with one of those (like I used in this video). Also thank you for being with me since the college days!! 😄
