@Colly R I thought that about Amazon. Can you remember when they had all the FUD starting 20 years ago? No profits for decades, banks daren't foreclose because they were in too deep.
I believed the FUD (Edit) and didn't invest until January last year.
No profits is not a bad thing on its own.
My best description is like when you move house, there's expenses (investment) for new decorations, furniture, locks, fixing up outside, if you're married - more decorating, bigger council tax and you can't put money in a savings account (Profit) with additional expenses (investment).
Then as time goes on over the next few years there's little additional spending (most investment done now just running costs) and you can get back to saving money (Profit).
My man I cant thank you enough for this. As an investor I feel so good about this company's future, they check so many boxes for me.

Excellent video. Back in the early 2000s I was learning about data analytics and how it was applied. A little company called Netezza went public. Bought as much shares as I could afford. Then few more data analytics companies went public. Not long after that IBM bought Netezza company and I sold my shares. So when PLTR announced going public I did not want to miss out. I buy almost 3x a week. 👍

What I liked was the protection of the worker & their job through the PLTR technology. It allows the employee to integrate, but also increase their value exponentially to the employer. The employee becomes as "sticky" as the platform.

Interesting company. I am going to go long in Palantir but after the initial pump and dump. This guys looks excited to pump the value and sell some if his stocks to love into an bigger appartment.

this platform works really well for companies in this current global climate. The pandemic has caused a lot of companies to allow their employees to work from home, creating a whole new set of technical hurdles because of the distance between associates. Software like this helps big corporations to meet these hurdles.

My only question from a layman’s view is how quickly will AI either enhance or replace this company. I will say this, the CEO’s mindset is admirable and almost religious in the technical sense. That is refreshing and attractive as an investor. The one other thing I liked is the ‘creating platforms before someone knows it’s needed’ concept constantly being reinforced. And third was: ‘don’t invest if your looking for a company that compromises it’s standards for a buck”. So I’d like to be the next person to coin and be credited for Palantir’s future slogan... “Data = Power = Palantir”. Hope they use it and with that I’m sure I’ll be adding this one to my portfolio.

With Biden coming in as president, I dont see as much Government money going to Government contracts that deal with security, and illegal immigration. And with the stock trading at a valuation 30× its one year earnings, I dont see another double up coming any time in the near future

I’m wondering how PLTR measures IMFs use of funds when it reaches the emerging markets in connection to infrastructure deployments and contracts awarded vs the monetary input of IMFs participators. And how the AI Platform when implemented in this context would tilt corruption. ?!

I heard about this company back in April. Did some research and really liked the company, really liked the CEO. I purchased shares the first day of the Direct listing. Long term this should be a great investment.
Really glad I managed to get in at IPO. It is obvious that this is a buy with both the fundamentals and technicals. I am twenty years old with a lay-mans knowledge of computer science and no personal experience of the software.

Insiders have to sell because it was a DPO not and IPO. If they didn’t sell we wouldn’t have any shares to buy. I wouldn’t worry about the lockdown period till after the earnings report come out on dec 31

They seem to build general solutions for specific problems. If that is really true, that's just so powerful and worth a lot of money! Anyone here who works with their products, I'm interested to know how it is to work with their software.
Gotham is an amazing software. Very intuitive. Literally use it everday. Just a very powerful tool to connect different units and cuts down on misinformation. I think the biggest gain from it though would have to be the ease of communication from top down and bottom up. Something all militaries struggle in. IMO its the future of warfighting.

That framework they use to maintain data correctness sounds a lot like blockchain tech. Around the 30min mark if anyone can correct me if i am wrong.
I don't see any reference to blockchain technology in any of their product descriptions. They do maintain records of who made changes to data and they archive prior versions. They also prevent access by unauthorized personnel. Since Gotham works with classified information they probably have to support encrypted data, but I'm inferring that, I haven't seen that in their product descriptions.
