    I guess that "planting rice" refers to the fact that the ground is really wet in that area. A while back, I went to a party at a friend's house. He has a fire pit. It had been raining a lot and the pit had become a mud hole filled with water. We placed a set of logs vertically in the pit to make a flat surface above the water and made our fire on top of that. By the time the night was done, the pit was fully dry and the fire had burned all the way to the bottom.

    Nice Work DP! It goes without saying the 850J is a Beast and from where I'm sitting The 210 is a perfect Match for it. The brute power it projects is amazing, it is still making impressing the daylights out of me. Putting trees down is just about as hard as digging through solid rock as far as I'm concerned. My opinion on fuel usage is If the machine preforms with every job you do it is worth the fuel cost, as long as you are getting better performance along with the higher rate it's a win win in my book. To Quote Jerry " I would keep this thing" Keep up the Good Work!!

    That machine is BRUTAL.
    Those double and triple sycamores are second growth trees . growing out of an old stump cut long ago.
    Running wide open open with four barrel on my V6 Buick engine in my airboat I burned 5 gallon/ hour. Pulling 2800 rpm. Headers and RV Cam in it. 68 inch prop. It would talk to me...floor boarded for an hour at a time on the river. 38 mph.3/4 inch Kevlar on bottom. Run on asphalt. Get you one , run in a hay field if you want or in snow. Most fun toy I ever owned.

And to make you feel even better, the burn rate for a CAT D11 is 37 gallons per hour full bore. But sure would be fun to watch Jerry on a D11 ... hint, hint.

  • @sshep7119
    @sshep7119 Před 2 lety

    A simple trough 1 bucket wide, 1 bucket deep, and wider than the pile on both sides will burn extra hot. Stack some of the longer green stuff perpendicular across the trough to form the base to pile the debris on. Keeping the oxygen flowing to the fire core is the ticket. The large green stuff keeps the trough clear, and supports more on top for longer. Five minutes of prep with the bucket and some pre planning, that's all you need. If you really want the pile reduced to ash in the shortest time, if you have a breeze and align the trough properly you can create temps approaching kiln.

    One amazing machine. You really need to look at the entire job, number of pieces of equipment, the total fuel burn per hour and the total hours if you were using your existing machines compared to the using the 210 and 850J. Finally add the additional time into the mix, time you don't pay labor, including yourself and the fact you could be on the next job sooner. Looking at a single piece of equipment does not tell the story. I think the overall would be considerably lower for the 210 and 850J, but got to do the math. Thanks for sharing.

      All true, plus the fact that a new class of heavier jobs can be engaged, difficult or impossible with smaller equipment. Bringing in new work previously not doable, as well as doing regular work much faster, are all factors in the buying decision.

    Mrs DP has that new pressure washer. The kids need to wash and wax the 210 so it looks good on camera.

    DP I have a crazy fun idea for you. Either it’s the types of trees in your area or your genius video editing, it seems you encounter a number of multiple trees growing out of one stump. During your downtime this winter, how about engineering a guillotine - apologies for the spelling but I’m not French - attachment for an excavator to split the trees at the stump? Love this video.

      Some species are noted for that. Southeastern NE its mulberry, hedge (osage orange) in particular. I use a tree herbicide on the fresh cut stumps but I am only doing light clearing of treeline so I've got time to do it.

    Isn’t it amazing that people pay you to have that much fun. Typing this as Jerry is knocking down trees with the dozer.
