I loved, loved, loved this video! Thanks, Rob! One of my thematic/topical collections is a collection of wild life, because I love all fauna, but my favourite remains the bird stamps! 🤩😍 So I really enjoyed to see your bird stamp mix of stamps. I saw a few African stamps among them as well. I still collect in stock books, but I think eventually I will also go for the pages in files. They are even more flexible than stock books. One of the most important things: collect what and how you want to collect - indeed no wrong way!
Thank you for all the positive feedback
A really nice video and a very popular topic to collect. Thanks for sharing with us.
My pleasure
I have been into stamp collecting for the last three decades and my methodology of collecting has evolved, in fact philately as a whole too has gone beyond stamps. When I fist looked at a theme, I decided on birds .... and I do see a lot of familiar stamps here. I have placed this stamps in a four-ring binder with the loose-leaf pages having nine holes and six strips to put in the stamps. I find this storage option the best for its mobility, particularly for thematic collections.
Nice to hear everyone’s method to collect
Nice one. I'm thinking hard about taking a theme approach with my worldwide stamps, but still keeping them with geographic area. So if I'm in the Pacific islands, here's the geography, then the animals, then the people, etc. etc. It's nice to see how you're thinking about your stamps. Keep going! ✨
Sounds like a very fun approach to collecting
I find it hard to get binders on Amazon 4 ring ad the stockpages I have pages I think Canada has better choice they look better in stock pages thanks for your collection you showed
It is very possible the products available vary from region to region to region. I find Walmart or Dollar Stores are good options too
I promised myself that I would not start "collecting" anything else, LOL, but now I'm thinking about starting a stamp collection based on a theme. @SnailmailwithSmokey had a Charlie Brown/Peanuts stamp from Japan on a recent video, and I collect all things Peanuts. I think I would enjoy starting a collection based on all the Peanuts characters. Like you said, it's all about having fun. Thanks for the helpful video.
There are some great stamps out there. The USA certainly had some peanuts stamps too. Happy Collecting
I collect comics-themed stamps. There's quite a lot of Peanuts on stamps: German, Portugal, Gibraltar, Netherlands, Cayman Islands...
I was like you and told myself I wouldn't be a serious stamp collector because I have enough collections, but one thing that got me to be okay with starting is that it's one of the cheapest hobbies/collections you can have (if you're not interested in rare historical ones and focus on theme etc instead)😭 one tiny work of art just being 10-13 cents usually! or a whole huge lot for just over a buck!
2 exceptions: 1. Do not glue your stamps in. 2. Do not use tape to mount your stamps. A while back I did an appraisal on a nearly complete us collection. Each stamp was well pasted in by using Elmers glue! Ouch.
Certainly not ideal for the stamps long term
Call also a topical stsmp collection
Exactly
On youtube i see one video wher one man from russia show butterfly collection... and this man collect only stamps with butterfly... but in Latvia i know many people who collect onle art or sport theme stamps... but mostly people collect stamps of certain countries or only classic stamps ( mostly till 1900 or 1950 year )
But all collections look nice... if you have a beautiful album and all the stamps are placed visually correctly ☺
Yes I think that is exactly the point of collecting. You may collect what you want. Wonderful to see what people collect.

... and bether i recomendet make so album and pages lik in video ... becaus on your black pages stamps not look so cool... but when you make your style this look much, much bether ... look all video ☺
@@janjonson3553 he puts lots of work into creating those nice pages with the mounts and the country flags
@@thatdadguy1974 Not so much... it only needs a sheet of paper, a printer and a little time... and same folder for stamps anf pages... but you spend a lot of money on special album pages. ☺
You almost make me want to collect but I won't do it, I won't.
Haha. Glad you watched and that it made you interested 😊
Good point... I suffer from an all or nothing mentality in everything...
I do wonder how long it takes until stamps are gone forever? I hate the new QR codes in them. The person who invited QR codes should've made it prettier! So blocky and ugly. -- And already in some places they just use a sticker with the postage value. :(
Luckily there are already millions of stamps out the there with countless variations. So even if they stop making new ones, it would take a lifetime to complete the collection 😀
@@thatdadguy1974 Do keep track / lists of stamps you're missing from each country?
@@postcrossedlife it is on my list of things to do. I have one for Canada but not other countries yet
