A North Carolina woman has been charged with murder after authorities discovered partial skeletal remains in a burn barrel - some belonging to her missing daughter and some believed to be that of her missing son.
London Deven, 28, and Blake Deven, 17, were declared missing by the Fayetteville Police Department earlier this year, the department said in press releases at the time.

Let's be honest ... the system isn't just failing these kids. It's failing all of us as a society. Just as it takes a village to raise a child, it affects the whole village when one of these children is allowed to slip through the cracks. Completely heartbreaking and frustrating!

Some how the state should be taking some accountability as well! My neighbor has 2 adopted kids and she gets regular house checks from the state. It seems like Any psychopath can adopt a child these days 😡🤬
She was going to get in trouble for collecting those checks!!!

When you are adopted the adopted parent has the right to change your name legally. So it is there real/legal name. The adopted mother changed the kids name legally.

She may not have allowed contact from bio family. They aren't required to allow it

They sell plastic locks for all of those things at Walmart. And if she sold the story that that they weren't enough and that was the only way to keep them out, I can see why DCS didn't report it. But it should have most definitely been noted in their case records.

Blake had not been seen since 2017 when he was 10 yrs old. She actually had a child pretend to be Blake when CPS got involved. She also may face charges in the death of her own mother as well.

Even if the locks were removed when dfs came, there would still be marks or screw holes from the locks
my questions is didn't they a background check on the adoptive mother
I tried adopting when I was in states and it was a difficult long costly process if private. I was never able to adopt. I tried going thru my home state, and when I would foster a child and became attached and acquired about adoption, the state would take the kid away and move to another state.🤦🏽♀️ This happened to me 3 times. I can tell you, that aside from the testing they required & criminal, I didn't go thru any other bkgrd checks back then. I moved to Hawaii for many reasons but I tried again w/adopting via the foster care to adoption program here and finally got my Ayden! I only paid $500, CPS classes & a criminal but no other bkgrd checks. Not sure how it is in this case but different states do different processes.
Hi! My family is where Moriah (aka london) spent the 11 years from when they took her from her bio family to when she was adopted!! Ava ( avante) worked as a mentor through a VERY RENOWNED company. She had references and and letters of recommendation... We truly believed that this would be an AMAZING life for moriah....she had been her mentor for several years and had a daughter that she had adopted

They hardly look in to the adopted parents, but will hire private detectives and everything to get them from the parents! SMH 🤦♀️

She prob called in that the kids were missing because due to COVID-19 the system’s staff were prob replaced and now looking to perform their duties correctly.
They were homeschooled and she was a registered homeschool with the state.
After the adoptions she moved to Fayetteville and the kids were never enrolled in a school, because she homeschooled.
It’s hard to miss kids that were never really allowed out in society.

Your country have clearly lots of cases about kids being held against their will, being starved, being abused in other ways, or unfortunately being unalived. Some say, it’s because CPS lacks funding. Are you guys even aware how much your country is giving other countries to “care” for their kids? Your country is so rich that you can give Billions upon billions to fund wars, fund cutting off your kids’ breasts, and fund illegal immigrants, but not enough to fund the department that will ensure/look after your kids’ safety? I’m sorry. As someone from across the Globe, I could have benefited from your country’s generosity. But with that, I don’t want to see a country I look up to, being busy minding other countries’ affairs while neglecting it’s own children. Imagine America as your own household. Maybe it’ll make better sense.
