The Violent Femmes shared this on their facebook page.
Very cool indeed!
Thanks very much for letting me know, and the the Femmes for being so cool!
Yes Gordon shared this, so awesome, these kids give me hope!!
LOVE the "Bad Seed" shirt!
Kid didn't even attempt the bass solo
I don't blame him
Yeah, it would be a little much for her. I think she's the exact same height as her bass.
you play that lead
Whatever "it" is, that little girl has it.
alexvenegas yeh sure
"You've gotta it..and I don't even know what it is, but you've got it!" -Jack Black
That little girl DOESNT HAVE IT! Whatever that is!
She’s so into it. She’ll be an ever better performer when she’s older
Grew up listening to the Femmes at that age... wow... Great cover
Well this proved that Violent Femmes songs can be enjoy by children this young
Her voice is haunting. Amazing performance..
I got chills. Excellent
“I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record”
I am crying and laughing uncontrollably at the same time. I hope the Femmes find this.
This is the best thing I've seen in months!
this is one of the best performances I have ever seen, she is so good
this kid will be a great performer. very good acting
Oh my gosh, these kids are frickin awesome
The young lady on lead vocals later did my most popular video, covering Judas Priest's Victim of Changes.
This is the the best thing I’ve ever seen
great band all have sooo much to give. hope the singer grows a star
She's 16 or 17 now, and a seasoned performer.
Celia Porter and Tyler Thenstedt!! TWO future stars of School of Rock!!
And that girl drummer that always smiles!!!
Violent Femmes is not a band I ever expected to see covered by a SoR. They were great and it's a fun fringe song
Why not? It's HIGHLY likely the music their parents or parent already exposed them to at home.
This girl rocks
i stan this kid.
Adults... "And that kids, is how it's done"
Kids... "Hold my little pony"
This is up there with the TOOL covers done by that other school.
Chicago and Oak Park are both excellent locations.
Man, I just love the femmes
They posted this video on their Facebook page!
F'N unbelievable 👌😎✌️
she is just SIMPLY ADORABLE xoxoxo
These kids are golden
Definitely!
+MidWest Concert Video Thanks for the post!
Blue Dog Glad to! My wife and I have to recording School of Rock shows since 2009, and it's been wonderful seeing these kids become seasoned performers. For instance, the tall girl on guitar is Tyler, and she's an AllStar this year, the very top 1% of the program. They're out on tour at the moment - see www.schoolofrock.com/allstars2016
There are shows tonight in Asbury Park, NJ, Vienna, VA, Somerville, MA and Richmond, VA.
Certified adorable.
What a little F…… Legend!!!!!!
ADORABLE!!!
Another one of my favorite bands when I was a rebellious teenager...
Absolutely AMAZING... MENTALLY GIFTED GENIUSES

Now this is what I'd call an appropriately ingenious cover!

Wow!! Kiss off is one of my favorites, I really enjoyed this, great job
Celia Porter is the young lady who got a million and a half views with her cover of Judas Priest's Victim of Changes.
Where can I find that video of Celia, I think she is just fantastic
czcams.com/video/PYcN8tN4P3Y/video.html
So cool! Good job
Por cosas como esta no pierdo aún la esperanza en la humanidad.
Muchas gracias. Estos son algunos grandes niños.

Cuteness itself and a therapy for suicidals.
Such stage presence.
Bravo!!
THIS WAS AWESOME!!!
Glad you dug it! Just curious, how did you find this video?
This is amazing. Congratulations!
This video features some of my favorite younger performers from the Chicago School of Rock.Celia Porter on vocals obviously, also Niko Tena on Guitar who did an amazing job of Ministry's "Jesus Built My Hot Rod" czcams.com/video/bQ9luzLtE-M/video.html and Shayna Ellis on bass who is right up there on a stage filled with kids twice her age on Wilco's "Impossible Germany" czcams.com/video/KQO-w95r_kw/video.html
This is great. Cheers from Norway :D
Very cool! Amanda F**king Palmer just shared this! She's doing a show Saturday at Jerry Bryant's JBTV studios on Saturday with the School of Rock House Band, the most skilled musicians in the School.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Celia ♥️ Wspaniała
so cute aaaaaa
that is so aweseome
Isn't it? Celia's most recent show was a co-production of "Tommy" by the School of Rock and Second City. As my wife and I were packing up our cameras, we overheard one of the people setting up for the next show raving about "this little girl with amazing presence".
@@MidWestConcertVideo2 Im crying ! I am re watching videos of myself because I am lacking motivation recently musically and it is comments like this that keep me moving!
Awesome. I was around her age when this song came out. I was totally rocking it, jumping up and down on my bed when I was supposed to be sleeping ☺
I hope you know that this will go down
, on your permanent record
WOW! Children playing Violent Femmes? 😱 I'm a cold hearted cynic who hates everything... except this! ❤️
The band shared this on their Facebook page.
good kids!
damn, that was pretty good
Awesome!! This little girl is gonna be a star. Are there any more videos with her?
I have several. The first performance I noticed her was during the Chicago School of Rock's "Women Who Rock" show back in 2013 where she sang No Doubt's "Running". The video is a wonderful example of how the older kids in the program mentor the younger ones. Claire Albensoeder, an amazingly talented singer and pianist sang it with Celia and in the video, you can see Celia looking to Claire for direction, and gaining more confidence on later verses.
CZcams got rid of video responses. I'll try to paste it here: czcams.com/video/QpmtyHGn9nQ/video.html
If it doesn't show up, just search for No Doubt Running Chicago School of Rock
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still my favourite. Tween angst :-)
. . .almost a year later...where are they now ?!!
A.F. Campise The drummer graduated the program after being in the "House Band" and is headed off to college. All the rest of the kids have been in other shows and presumably are working on the next season, which will be a tribute to Live Aid.
Jaw on floor.
I am not a fan of Punk Rock, but I love that little girls rendition of that song
These are some cool fuckin kids
I've been watching a broad cross section of School of Rock videos for the past few months, pretty compulsively, and keep coming back to this one.
I've also been volunteering with junior high and high school youth groups since about 1995, and I don't know whether I'd be thrilled or terrified to have the lead singer magically appear in my youth group, some year ... wow. :-)
Celia is one of those natural performers. When Amanda Palmer shared this video with her million plus followers, my wife told one of her teachers "Celia should know that she's famous now" to which her teacher replied "I don't think she's ever thought otherwise."
OMG this is the best comment you've ever posted.
And I only saw it because I was coming back after watching the video roughly another hundred times to say how much I loved watching Courtney Mankowski going off to happy places while drumming about every thirty seconds. Every one of these kids is a trip.
Again, thanks for recording this, and for putting it on CZcams.
@@MidWestConcertVideo2 This is true!
Awesome to see kids this young have such great taste in music.
Just don't sing Add It Up anytime soon, ok?
Other performances by Celia:
No Doubt - "Running" czcams.com/video/QpmtyHGn9nQ/video.html
David Bowie - Suffragette City czcams.com/video/B2_JCCjsaB4/video.html
The Police - Walking on the Moon czcams.com/video/nzJEHFqajEA/video.html
I was hoping the would follow up with Add It Up.
One person forgot what 8 was for.
There were a few spots that she just nails Gano’s tone. Wow.
I don't know why those Shares by the School of Rock Allentown and School of Rock Easton are marked as Spam. They are not. I know MidWest Concert Video doesn't consider them spam.
this was from 9 years ago. did the singer ever go into any bands? just curious because even at that age se was verry entertaining has all kinds of potential for now
She has her own CZcams channel. Here she is knocking out people with Aretha Franklin's version of Chain of Fools:

She's really fucking cute
