    You cherry pic your biblical stories and ignore the Laws which effect your behavior.

      If you'd care to provide some clarification, I'd love to better understand how concentrating on a specific chapter of Jonah constitutes cherry-picking (are other sermons that happen to be based on individual lectionary readings cherry-picking as well?)
      Also, I seem to remember St. Paul teaching us that the rigid letter of the Law kills, while the Spirit gives life (2 Cor 3:6). Regardless, I would hope that my preaching (at the time of this sermon and now) consistently demonstrates a high regard for the authority of Scripture, and especially its fundamental principles of love of God and neighbour.
