Is this a video where you finally bring your Insta360 to record a date? And by date, I'm talking about a Swedish woman, not Liam Sweeney.

hahaha this is very true, just my nose though
Great message to the company. I really hope that this gets through to them, especially during a time like this where Canadian companies need to stay MADE IN CANADA
this is no different than when they worked with CCM. All ccms pads would say designed by lefevre but they were made in Asia. The only Canadian Made CCM Lefevres were pro models.
@@jayg9113 except that at least before True buying in (and after going independent from CCM), ALL Lefevre pads were made in Canada.. highly doubt it'll stay that way 😕
Time will sadly tell if I am wrong or not
Just because it's made in Canada doesn't mean it's good. Vaughn's pro gear is still Canadian and my Vision set fell apart in a year. On the other hand, my custom pro Eflex 1 set lasted 4 years before I sold them and my Eflex 3 set is still going strong after 2 years. I was on the ice at least 3-4 times a week in all of my sets until the pandemic started last March.
@@CaptainsCrease That's unfortunate to hear about the set. Vaughn does outsource some of their production to China too, and in general Chinese products are not the best quality. However the major point of the matter is about the economy. Keeping Canadian businesses in Canada to create Canadian jobs for a Canadian sport just makes more sense. Call me patriotic i don't mind.
Why does trav look like he belongs in a Peterbilt rather than a hockey rink these days? Lmao love you trav keep up the good work and I hope it all works out for you
Because I do ;)
Drinking game: take a shot every time Trav says "rebounds come off hot", in this video.
I need my stomach pumped
Trav, another fantastic video! I appreciate your honesty regarding True. My son is a defenseman and uses True sticks. The quality was questionable at the beginning but has definitely improved over time.
Hard to trust a company like TRUE
Great inputs and info. Makes me wanna play again, wonder if there's a beer league team around here that's bad enough to allow me in.
The game is addicting man
I love the honesty, putting your ass on the line and risking possible future income to deliver the truth. Nothing but respect
Always have wanted to deliver the truth
Man that review was by far one of your best. Just the way you described your equipment. I love how you express your feelings toward True. That takes some balls man. I really hope they listen to you. Good vid bud.
Glad you liked it, always been loyal to the audience
I enjoyed your honest and frank (but only I can be Frank) reviews of the Lefevre equipment.. It was also great to see you making sweet saves with Lefevre. Your commercials are epic! Keep it going.
Glad you love the shills franky
@@trav4oilers I sure do, and you can really gab!
Why does True hate you? Like did you do something and they were just pissed about it? And how do they feel about you using their sticks?
I think it is because he was shiting on them
Im honest and tell the truth about products. That simple
Thorough and honest review of the Lefevre 20.1 . After seeing the effects of 2020 on small to medium sized businesses, I am also a fan of keeping local manufacturing going.
Amen, keep it as local as possible
Trav over here looking like he belongs in trailer park boys. That fucking mustache is on point boiiiii
It all cones down to $$$$. True will eventually be made overseas.
I agree sadly
No it won’t lmao
That glove story is interesting. In 2001 Brian Heaton (Brian's/Heaton/TPS) told me how my Xhale pro gear was "game ready" and made lighter/thinner than standard gear, thus, needed to replace more frequently due to being less durable. I have a request for a video down the line and when COVID lockdowns stop: See if you can check out Kenesky Manufacturing Inc. in London, Ontario while you're over again to do some stuff with Steve Mc too many cooks in the Kitchen. Try out Kenesky's chest and arm. Lot's of pros like them. I see they make a sick set of vintage gear, but, wonder how it would really rank with stuff like your True gear.
PS. Probably wife up that Swedish model you were dating. You'll regret you didn't when you're on Tinder at 39 like me. ;)
Johnny, sorry for the late reply brother. Yes, I need to seek out Linda and see what she is up to these days. How ya been man
It doesn't really matter how a company fails, it matters how they recover. If a company isn't willing to listen and use constructive criticism, given from a person who KNOWS what the product needs (at ground level), then that is not a company that should last. If Trav did not take the advice and constructive criticism from all of his coaches, where would he be now? It's no different.
I agree man, they gotta step it. up
I work with product managers in my job for pretty major companies. Its unfortunate that in general they don't take criticism, just want to hear how awesome their products are and how you can sell more of them. I guarantee you True bought Lefevre for branding and to sell at a high price point, they're going to sell gear at the same price point but reduce the production costs.
Nobody wants criticism these days and wanna be told how sweet they are
Love to hear your point at 2:00 about pad sizing. Even as a big guy. Way too many goalies around now adays with pads rising almost to their waist with the tops overlapping on butterfly. So cringe. People 6' and smaller should be wearing 32+2 but its like the least common size ordered.
I guess it's all relative but 34+2 is perfect for my size!
Your next stick should be Sherwood M90. Great products
Wouldn't spend my money on them
This video made me feel much better for ordering a Lefevre set for myself.....and ordering it sooner than later, just in case anything changes under True. Although I have to say I much prefer the way True places the logo on the outer roll lookwise.
You'll be in good hands
Hey he doesn’t need to feel bad about those comments, after a company earned them. We all hope as gear nerds they succeed.
Reviews have always been honest
White nylon looks good for like a week. I try to spec all of my pads with black or dark colored nylon. The bonus is the occasional puck lost by the officials.
But it looks so good for that week
i was only listening to the vid prepping my food and then i look up and see my man trav rocking the handlebars! love it
Miss out on the stache bro
Went to buy a True set yesterday. 25 week wait. Decided to do some more research and found this video. Thanks, avoiding True for now.
Happy to help you buddy
@@trav4oilers basically what I'm getting from this as a 44 year old beer leaguer, if you order top of the line Vaughn, CCM or Brian's (I'm just naming what you see the pros wear), it's being made the same as if the pros were to order it. If you order True, you aren't getting the same as the pros, it's being made in Vietnam and you're waiting twice as long. (Obviously McKinney, Passau and other small companies are making their own gear.)
Honesty get you places man they may hate but the words will be heard. Change will be made.. we hope
I was raised on the same foundation
@@trav4oilers yeeye same generation 1994..
Great review. Tell them the truth and not what they want to hear. Keep 'em honest with their products. Good job.
Appreciate it rob. Hope you enjoyed
I bet True put Trav on their hit list, make sure you watch your back
Im on a dart board
The Ridge wallet makes a great last minute Christmas present I just ordered one for my dad Thanks for the promo code Trav
LETS GO BUDDY! Hope you enjoy
That’s a great message for Lefevre/true I hope you are proved wrong. For me at this point any new gear is going to be an improvement. I’m more inclined for warrior but who knows when I have enough to get new gear your 6 month review can change my mind?
Cheers bud!
I hope they prove me wrong. They got a great product!
Hi Trav. If you want to switch company for your equipment, I recommend Passau, based in south shore of Montreal. And they do customizing.
I have been admiring Passau for a while. In western Canada there isn’t much of a following but personally I would love to hear Trav take a look at a set. Also I really appreciate a true sounding review that doesn’t sound like a interview where your weakness is that you work to hard! Great work Trav, Passau send this guy some Oilers themed pads!
@@gren2820 I think he'll prefer Jets colors, lol. He's from Winnipeg and Helleybuck is his favorite goalie.
@@sergel.8876 hahah yeah I know, mostly I just want to see a beautiful Oilers themed coloured set!
Tim McCarthy (Bozo behind Goalie Gear Nerd) is in on Passau, I aint going anywhere near a company employing a looser like that
@@trav4oilers Never heard of him. But what do you think about the equipment itself?
Lefevre did pretty good through their previous joint ventures with RBK and CCM. RBK in itself is a way bigger company than True, and CCM has been around longer and probably is still bigger though that’s a guess on my part
AGREED
Oh yes, we've been waiting a long time for this one, can't wait to hear your opinion !
Hope you enjoyed buddy
Love the honesty bud.. hope to fuck they don't ruin Lefevre
I hoppe not as well
@@trav4oilers they haven't done any favours visually at least .. the gear looked so much better with the Lefevre name on it
You're not the only goaltender to wear practice gloves for game. I've seen Joonas Korpisalo wearing back and forth game and practice glove during Game 1 vs Tampa Bay in the Overtime periods intermissions that he'd switch to prepare for his 85 save performance.
I love the fit and feel man
Thank you for being so honest. Cheers.
Thanks for watching
Love the handlebars
So do I lol
Such an awesome review video. Was kind of sad you didn't talk about the wrist mobility of the blocker. From my personal experience, I have yet to find a blocker of that quality with the same range of motion. Some may like it more rigid for that feeling of security but I would rather have the flexibility and range. What are your thoughts, Trav, on this aspect of the blocker?
Wrist mobility is elite
A little leather conditioner once a month will prevent that palm ripping brother. I liked to use redwings personally
good to know
Thanks for the Sunday special! But I believe that lefevre will survive this affiliations, they survive koho, Reebok and Ccm. They always had awesome product! Nice handle bars
Glad you enjoyed the video man
I feel like anybody wacthing this that is looking to get new gear is sold. I no i am, great review and great video. Go trav go
Eh, to be honest, I looked at the Lefevre when Trav got the set. Saw the price, got sticker shock, decided against it.
Well after 6 months of wacthing trav do you wish you would have looked into them more.
Thanks for the love man
Thanks for the great content
So tell us how you really feel? When companies take short cuts the product fails, and the names tarnished/trashed, hard to recover. When big companies buy the small mom and pop run companies they try to tell everyone nothings going to change but we know otherwise. Hopefully Lefevre has worked it in their own contract they have final say of all their products labeled as True but time will tell how that deal went down.
Thats what they say but time will prove me right or wrong
Will Lefevre hand-craft the gear still under the True name but only for pro orders? Then maybe True will have an off-shore mass-production plant for retail/shelf gear? Time will tell.
Time will tell indeed
By the way I’m not digging the handle bars stash that you got going on
It'll be around for rest of the month ;)
Great video Travis great review on your Lefevre 580 break all the way still love my CCM’s. Travisss😊👊🏽💪🏽👍🏽
Thanks Richie
@@trav4oilers Your welcome Travis
I guess this video answer my question of why a lot of NHL goalies are using TRUE
It's the best, simply put. See ya monday for the next one, new podcast came out today ;)

Yeah dawg- more music from your own guitar! Maybe make a beat eventually and add it onto the guitar! Keep it up my guy
Maybe one day will drop a track
@trav4oilers iam happy you found goalie equipment thats lasting longer and stuff you like
Same here
I'm shocked you had so many issues with your True Two Piece skates, I have had their two piece skates for 3 seasons now skating 6 days a week and I haven't had any issues.
Different feathers
Great vid🔥🔥
tHANKS ZACH
I fucking hate when companies can't take criticism. How the hell to you expect to grow and be better?!
I just ordered a new pair of True pro custom skates. My feet are a size a difference and that’s the only reason I didn’t get CCM’s. Plus my school has a rep so we get them half price. I hate that they’re taking 2 months though
GOODLUCK MAN
A Trav what's up I just watched your video loved it👊👊
Thanks Andy
Trav, I agree with you. A few friends shelled out big bucks for skates, and the skates fell apart prematurely. True will eventually ruin the Lefevre brand. When you are going to need new gear, will you purchase the Lefevre gear, branded as True? I would ask that they keep their shitty name off of the gear.
Skates are shit quality
Great review trav
Thanks Aidan
Hey, I don’t know if you will see this, but if you do, should I wait for ef5s, or pick up ef4s right now
Depends, all similar. I'd get EF5
Thanks Travis
Hope you liked
Love the Liam Sweeney text
Easter egg baby
idk how but i just realized ur a full right like when i used to play
Youre about 6 years late eh ;_)
How about a Kenesky Pops Pro K2015 leg pad review, eh? I heard they're like Brian's, in that they'll customize whatever you want. I'm interested, but cant find anyone to thats offered a review.
Not unless they send it to me for free haha
@@trav4oilers nothing’s free bud. Haha.
Ahh waiting to see when the open markets get it to see the price point
Time will tell
Wow I hope lefave doesn’t change their stuff looks awesome
we shall see
Question for you Trav, have someone paid for that gear or it was offered by the company at the time?
it was free
Thanks trav I’m thinking of coming a goalie at the age of 16 but I don’t know what pads to get I’m 6’1 175 I don’t know what size pad to get
Sidelineswpq bud, link in description
I thought True was just putting their name on Lefevre's equipment to cover the NHL license fee? If True is going be involved more than that, then I agree Lefevre is ruined.
In a sense
Bought a true 6.0 goalie stick
The dam thing broke after a few games of beer league hockey. Never again will I waste 300$ on true again.
Amen man
yo trav, im a 6'5 forward, any websites you know where i can get sticks that'll fit me? thanks

Believe me, you can be a great sales person. Get your business degree man , it is very important!!
All in good time
This gonna be fire
Always is ;)
Interesting video. Hope the next video has some entertaining content.
You'll love wednedas
Man, could you imagine a blocker with True's Z-palm technology though?
Suregrip is still pretty nasty man
I hate how you promoted true skates for four years and still promote their sticks and they just hate you now.
That's a lot of hate.
I’m just trying to say the truth
@@EOSGAMINGfn True.
They have Mitch Marner as an endorser for their sticks. I think they are looking for an NHL-level goalie to endorse their future goalie equipment, skates and/or sticks. But, trav4oilers is the kind of guy who could be a promoter for Insta360, Kex chocolate, and the Fort Garry Hotel.
@@place_desjardins not goalie sticks tho
True players gloves are/were horrible. Two pairs palm tearing after 3-4 skates. This was several years ago. Maybe they are better now. Not going back
Seems similar across the board
Your warriors rotated way better from the screen view
I think lefevre rotates better tbh
Is your roommate hungarian ? Cause he has some hungarian national team shirts and stuff
Igen, ki lett írva az u20as válogatottba, valamilyen Samu
Yes hes definitely hungarian😉
yes he is!
Pretty bonkers you use a 34”. Where does your knee sit I’m curious
It's just a different fit, they run bigger.
They run bigger but my knee is centre of the knee craDLE
Why does TRUE not want to be associated with you anymore?
because I am true to the viewership

They def do, lot taller boot
Just switch to the top brands like CCM and Bauer you can’t go wrong
you mean cant go any more wrong

@@trav4oilers 😅
This will be more like the Ccm/Reebok/ Lafave deal. Lefevre did it to get there gear in the NHL. Who will benefit...Nhl goalies. Soon it will be low quality stuff to the people that buy it with prices going up even more. And possibly moving customer base stuff over seas. I hope, like you I'm wrong. But that's how the world works now days...
time will tell my friend
Kenesky goalie pads in Hamilton
ill pass lol
That stache! +20 all stats?
big staCHE
Whats with the handle bar mustache?
Something different
Warrior - sucks, Lefevre - eh, True - sucks.... all goalie equipment breaks down over time. Just get new ones like every other rec goalie in the world. Even the pros get new gear every season.
