Triangle

Opening titles of what may be the most derided soap ever made. Set on board a ferry sailing between Fleixstowe, Gothenburg and Amsterdam the show paved the way for "Brookside" and other such dramas with its unique use of OB video cameras and editing (which was done on board the ship). Pity poor Kate O'Mara though. That's her, sunbathing topless, in the gloom and grey of the North Sea!

A must watch when I was a student, mainly for the unintentional laughs. We nicknamed it Quadrangle on account of the opening credits.

I remember when it was first broadcast in early 1981, the Radio Times had a special behind the scenes feature on some new state of the art special lightweight video cameras being exclusively used to film the series.

I did see one or two episodes when it first came on TV(mind you that was well over 25 years ago now)and about 10 or so years back when it appeared on the British satellite tv station UK Gold and it certainly was different to see a TV programme filmed entirely at sea

legendary. Howard's Way, at it best, was close, but in the lead was Triangle. Tinker, Tailor, wotsit, Play for Today, yeah right. Triangle reaches the pinnacle of t.v drama.

I just find it hilarious. Like the bit in Carry On Up The Khyber when they're trying to have dinner in the middle of a siege, there's something so stiff-upper-lipped about trying to film a glamorous soap in the greyest and windiest piece of sea on a very plain boat.

Me and my family have been on the mv DANA ANGLIA, which was used in series 2 and 3 of TRIANGLE. I think I'd rather watch Triangle than a lot of the crap that's on TV today, at least it definitely was so bad it was highly watchable.

Triangle is not as bad as some of the rubbish they put on nowadays..it looks a bit dated now but still watchable...
