      Thank you so much! I definitely will, it's a great horn. I am curious, what kind of horn (or horns) do you play on?

      @@LisaLizTrombone Hi Lisa, nice to meet you and happy to answer to your question.
      I play on a King 3B silver ( not Silversonic) with a Shilke 50 mouthpiece. In all my life I payed on King trombones. I have also a 3B king customed by me from the 80's but this instrument didn't have a nice sound so I modified it. I have also an N.H.White from 1928 ( like a 2b) that was given to me by a very dear friend of mine. Please if you want take a look at : czcams.com/video/ZusX2LXvrk4/video.html
      And let me know your impression. I hope to hear news from you and keep in touch and all the best. Sandro

      I disliked the trombone for several years, mostly because the boys would make fun of me or try to intimidate me. Once I discovered jazz trombone and bass trombone I really started to enjoy the instrument. My college experience was very enjoyable ❤️

      @LisaLizTrombone  Před 3 lety

      @@SadieAtCollege me too! My King 3B is definitely my favorite trombone I have!
      I’m sorry to hear you had that experience. We should never let boys intimidate us! 💪 It seems like it turned back around though and you enjoyed it 😊 ❤️

    I have not played in many years but personally loved my student Yamaha over my Conn.
    My Dad was in the RAF Central band in England then played in the RAAF band in Melbourne before becoming a music teacher.

    Do you ever play on the .525 bore 3B. You sound great, by the way. The 3B has definitely been used a lot by a lot of great players, including JJ

    • @LisaLizTrombone
      @LisaLizTrombone  Před 2 měsíci

      I have never played on that horn before, have you? Do you like it?
      Yeah, the 3B is a great horn!

    • @chrismarbrey9678
      @chrismarbrey9678 Před 2 měsíci

      @LisaLizTrombone Yes, I prefer the regular .508 3B, but it is a little more responsive than a Bach 36 because of the more narrow slide crook. So, if you personally were thinking about a medium bore horn, it might be worth a look. It wouldn't be as great of a departure from your bread and butter. You could I imagine use your bell and just try the 3B Plus .525 slide with it for those times you need a little more sound without going to the 88H

  • @jazzman99000
    @jazzman99000 Před 3 lety

    Nice I’ve been playing since 1978. I keep ending up with king/conn instruments mostly. Got an old 2b, a new 2b silver bell , 3b with f attachment, king flugabone, and an awesome king euphonium. I think you would like a 2b silver bell. If you try one please make a video. Thanks

    • @LisaLizTrombone
      @LisaLizTrombone  Před 3 lety

      Wow, it sounds like you have a great collection! I have tried the King 2B silver bell before, and I really like it. It's great for lead trombone and noodely (is that a word?) jazz stuff. I'll see if I can get my hands on one!

  • @lcctrombone
    @lcctrombone Před 3 lety

    Congrats Lisa!! Awesome! I'm trying to buy straight horn for jazz and have heard so many good things about King 2b and 3b. Have you tried both of these? Have you noticed a difference between these two horns?

    • @LisaLizTrombone
      @LisaLizTrombone  Před 3 lety

      Thank you so much! Yeah, King trombones are the best. This 3b is my favorite horn ever. I have tried many different King 2bs and 3bs. They are both great horns, but in my opinion, good for different things. The 2b is great for playing lead trombone and really high noodle-y jazz stuff. You can get great flexibility with such a small bore size (.500"). The 3b is a little larger, .508 bore size. I like it because you can still get down into the lower register, without sacrificing tone quality. It's great for playing any style of music. The best all around trombone.
      I hope that helps!
